I need middle names suggestions for [name_u]Claude[/name_u] and [name_f]Edith[/name_f]. I use [name_u]Claude[/name_u] as a girl’s name. The two middle names for each name does not have to have anything to do with each other.
I haven’t been able to come up with any middle names for [name_u]Claude[/name_u] yet, but I have a few for [name_f]Edith[/name_f], I just don’t think I’ve found the right one yet. Here are the ones for [name_f]Edith[/name_f]:
I like old-fashioned names and scandinavian names (I’m scandinavian), but also kinda unique names (like [name_f]Aphrodite[/name_f])
Thanks
Edit: I just want to add that I don’t live in an english-speaking country, and both Edith and Claude sound way better in my language than in english (I think), for those of you who are worried about my future babies hating their grand-ma names. In my country Edith and Claude aren’t considered grand-ma names, simply because grand-mas here don’t have the same names as in England for example.
personally i think edith is better than claude but edith is still pretty ick. my best friend is named ethel, and she absolutely HATES it.
i think if you’re going to do an old-fashioned name as the first name, definitely weird it up with the middle name to make it truly unique. edith aphrodite rocks but doesn’t flow too well.
edith josephine crawley is the name of a fictional character on downton abbey, so if you don’t want that connotation then avoid the name, but i think it sounds lovely.
i suggest some norse mythology names, as that hits both the unique and scandinavian things. freyja, idun, and sigyn come to mind. if you modernize idun to iduna, i think it would work wonderfully with edith. edith iduna just sounds nice to me.
I have to be honest, I hate both [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u]. Having an old lady can suck for people who aren’t old ladies. Maybe one day [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_u]Claude[/name_u] will be fresh again, but today is not that day. Consider the beautiful and younger name [name_f]Claudia[/name_f], for your daughter’s sake.

Actually in the UK the name [name_f]Edith[/name_f] is definitely already fresh again - top 100 now and rising fast. And [name_f]Cate[/name_f] Blanchett has a daughter called [name_f]Edith[/name_f] and [name_f]Keira[/name_f] Knightley has a daughter called [name_f]Edie[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is beautiful - but I’m probably biased because that exact name was our back-up for my daughter.
I’ve never heard [name_u]Claude[/name_u] as a girls name before - I suppose how much confusion that might cause would depend on where you live?
