Need name help: baby is almos 2 1/2 weeks old and we're feeling the pressure! :/

We didn’t find out babe’s gender and were both convinced we were having a boy. Now that our beautiful girl has arrived, we’re both scratching our head for names.

Last week we had settled on [name]Addison[/name]. It had been my only girl name during pregnancy. Unfortunatley, we’ve just learned that it is the name of a rare disease… so that has cancelled that out.

my husband has brought a strong Polish last name to the table, so I feel like her name needs to be soft and femme. Her sister’s name is [name]Zara[/name], and it would be nice if they flowed together.

My fav pick right now is [name]Isadora[/name]. I [name]LOVE[/name] IT! Anyone have any one syllable mn suggestions? [name]Joy[/name] was one of my thoughts because it’s my Grandmothers name, but I’m not sure they flow. I also like [name]Amelia[/name] (even though it’s more than one syllable!)

Alternate names are:

[name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Amelia[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] ‘Pulchalski’ is beautiful. I say go with it! Any hold ups?

[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]June[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Wynn[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Cate[/name]

I really like [name]Cora[/name], especially depending on how long the surname is. It’s soft and feminine, but suits a Polish last name really well.

[name]Cora[/name] [name]Avery[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Isadora[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]

[name]Amelia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is really cute! [name]Isadora[/name] is sweet, but I think [name]Amelia[/name] goes better with big sis [name]Zara[/name]. [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Zara[/name] are really nice as well.

[name]Avery[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name] is adorable as well, and [name]Avery[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is nice if you want to honour your gran. I’d go with [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Joy[/name] or [name]Avery[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. Congrats!

Congratulations!
[name]Isadora[/name] is my favorite from your list. Familiar of [name]Isabella[/name] connections but far less popular, lovely meaning and a plenty of nicknames. I much prefer [name]Isadora[/name] over Adisson too.
A few short middle names ideas:
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]June[/name] (I suppose she was born in [name]June[/name]?)
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Luz[/name] (“luz” means “light” in Spanish)
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Sage[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Faye[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Breeze[/name](I find this one very fitting for a summer baby)
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Lane[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Lior[/name](“lior” means “my light”)
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joyce[/name](a twist on your grandmother’s name)
[name]Do[/name] you like any?

Loving the suggestions! Thank you!!

My vote is for [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Joy[/name]! I think it’s stunning, pleasing to the eye, soft yet strong to stand up with [name]Zara[/name]. [name]Isadora[/name] is nice I love it since its in my list but I don’t like the sound of Iz and [name]Zara[/name] together like [name]IZadora[/name] and [name]Zara[/name]. I like [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Zara[/name]! Gorgeous.

I also vote for [name]Amelia[/name]! I don’t care for [name]Isadora[/name]. It seems very stern to me.

I’d go feminine with [name]Zara[/name]'s sister - names like [name]Adela[/name], [name]Celeste[/name], [name]Delia[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Fiona[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], [name]Kaia[/name], [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Luna[/name], [name]Miranda[/name], [name]Stella[/name]…

[name]Joy[/name] is a great one syllable middle name! Personally, my favorites are [name]Delia[/name], [name]Eva[/name], [name]Gemma[/name], and [name]Miranda[/name] with [name]Zara[/name]. You could use [name]Belle[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Cate[/name], [name]Jane[/name], [name]May[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Rose[/name]?

I think [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is great! Some other one syllable mn suggestions: [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Wren[/name], [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Claire[/name], or [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Eve[/name].

I think [name]Isadora[/name] goes wonderfully with [name]Zara[/name] – they both have a certain spunk and sophistication where some of the others on your list seem a bit more preppy and popular to me. I agree that one syllable middles go best with [name]Isadora[/name]. [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Jane[/name] is my favorite.

[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is beautiful

[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is lovely - [name]LOVELY[/name]! I think a short middle works best for a long last and longish first name.

[name]Allegra[/name] means ‘joyous’ and goes better with [name]Zara[/name]

[name]Isadora[/name] and [name]Amelia[/name] are still top of the list, but we’re still weighing other options. When I say “we”, my husband is a hard one to convince. My suggestions get shut down all of the time, “indigo, really [name]Zoe[/name]? You want to name your daughter [name]Indigo[/name]?” I think agreeing on a name is one of the hardest parts!!

[name]Delilah[/name] came up. Last name starts with a D… do you think a double D name will be too strong for a mellow, gebtle little lady?

Does anyone here hold faith in the Kabalarians mathematical idea?

and a HUGE thank you to you all for your opinions and ideas!

Our boy name we were firm on was [name]Declan[/name] [name]Asher[/name] ([name]Asher[/name] being my Grandfather’s name. I didn’t realize how popular it is!)

If you liked [name]Addison[/name], why not Adelise? ([name]Add[/name]-ah-lees) it’s my daughters name. It gets a ton of compliments. It is the original form of [name]Alice[/name].

I agree completely. [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] is beautiful.

Hmm…
I’m so glad you decided against [name]Addison[/name] for me it’s firstly a boy’s name and unattractive. [name]Addison[/name] isn’t soft and feminine also she doesn’t go with [name]Zara[/name]. I love [name]Isadora[/name] she has this really poetic and elegant. [name]Isadora[/name] sounds gorgeous with [name]Scarlett[/name] as well. I would stick with [name]Isadora[/name].
I think [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joy[/name] has a unsettled flow but then she is your Grandmother’s name. Have you thought of [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joyce[/name]? [name]Joyce[/name] is a variant of [name]Joy[/name] but has a far better flow. [name]Isadora[/name] [name]Joyce[/name] works.
Suggestions:
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Liv[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Leighton[/name]
[name]Isadora[/name] [name]Jade[/name]

From the other suggestions I like [name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Amelia[/name] and [name]Cora[/name]. I think these names work the best with [name]Zara[/name]. But you seem settled on [name]Isadora[/name], and in all honesty I think [name]Isadora[/name] works the best with [name]Zara[/name]. [name]Isadora[/name] & [name]Zara[/name] have a similar vibe.

[name]Sharai[/name] was what first came to mind. It’s also Hebrew and shares the meaning “princess” with [name]Zara[/name]. But they sound completely different.

[name]Naomi[/name] (Hebrew for “my joy, my delight”) & [name]Zara[/name] … good sib set.

[name]Miriam[/name] is a classic Hebrew name.

[name]Adah[/name] might be too matchy-matchy with [name]Zara[/name], but it is Hebrew and similar to [name]Addison[/name].

[name]Ariel[/name], also Hebrew, “lion of God”

[name]Eliora[/name], Hebrew, “the [name]Lord[/name] is my light”

You have a lot of good choices. Obviously it’s my opinion if you want a similar name, go with another name that’s Hebrew/Arabic!

[name]Isadora[/name] is beautiful!
Congrats on your little girl! Hopefully you can resist the pressure & choose a name that suits her perfectly:)
I like your entire list with the exception of [name]Scarlett[/name]…too harsh, [name]Charlotte[/name] I love though:)

[name]Zara[/name] & [name]Isadora[/name] both have that ‘z’ sound and both are very pretty:)
