[name_u]Baby[/name_u] boy just born this morning!! Yah!!
Both still undecided on the name. We were leaning towards a ocean/nautical/water inspired name. Or nature. Need help!!
[name_f]Sister[/name_f] is named [name_f]Marina[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]
Last name starts with an H
Middle name for boy will be [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m] which is from fathers dads side. [name_u]James[/name_u] is hubbys name and also mothers dads name.
Names we are considering
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] H
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] H
[name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] H
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] H
I love [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]! [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] totally suits the aquatic theme (I’m assuming it’s based on the Adriatic Sea) and goes well with [name_f]Marina[/name_f]. I like that [name_m]Leo[/name_m] honours both grandfathers and it would be really cute for the siblings to share a middle name.
Other ideas:
[name_u]Murray[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] (means “settlement by the sea”, [name_u]Murray[/name_u] & [name_f]Marina[/name_f] could be a cute sibset)
[name_u]River[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] (a bit more on-the-nose in the water/nature theme, but still handsome)
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] / [name_m]Caspian[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Trent[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] (means “the flooder” + the name of an [name_m]Ontario[/name_m] river)
[name_u]Jordan[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
Playing with [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]:
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
[name_m]Jim[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Leon[/name_m] / [name_m]Leon[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Lenny[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
I hope this helps a bit. My vote is for [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] ([name_f]Marina[/name_f] & [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] go so well together!), though [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] is a close second. Good luck and congratulations!!
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is all boy to me, especially with this spelling. I knew an [name_f]Adrienne[/name_f] (girl) in school, but with the popularity of [name_m]Julian[/name_m], [name_m]Roman[/name_m], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], etc., for boys, I think [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] fits right in. It’s also much, much higher on the popularity chart for boys than it is for girls, so you’re unlikely to meet lots of little girl Adriennes.
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] are great together!
[name_m]Cove[/name_m]
[name_m]Crew[/name_m]
[name_m]Keanu[/name_m]- cool breeze
[name_m]Marvin[/name_m]- sea hill
[name_u]Murphy[/name_u]- sea warrior
[name_u]Morgan[/name_u]- fighter of the sea, lives by the sea
[name_u]Murray[/name_u]- from the sea, man of the sea, protects the sea
[name_u]James[/name_u], [name_u]Jameson[/name_u] or [name_u]Jamison[/name_u] could be interchanged as middle names.
** [name_m]Leo[/name_m], [name_m]Leon[/name_m] or [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] could be interchanged as middle names.
Thanks everyone.
Sitting in the hospital room with baby and our heads hurt trying to pick a name we love lol.
Seems no one likes [name_u]Finn[/name_u]?
Leaning towards
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] H
[name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] H
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] H
[name_u]Finn[/name_u] is cute, but doesn’t blow me away as much as [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is a great combo and, if you want to use it, it would be a very handsome name. These are just the opinions of strangers on the internet ;).
I think, what I like about [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] is it’s not too popular. I know it was 60th in the US last year, but I have yet to meet an [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] in person, let alone a kid named [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] (the only [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]'s I’m aware of are in their 30s). I like the sound of [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] together, and they really do suit each other both in length and style. I kind of prefer [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] as a middle name to [name_m]Adrian[/name_m], just because it gives the name a bit of a classic twist. [name_u]James[/name_u] doesn’t enhance [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] too much. [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] is dashing!
[name_m]Leo[/name_m] is sweet. I really do like that it honours both parents, and the idea of having both siblings share a middle name is honestly so precious. In this case, [name_u]James[/name_u] does add something to [name_m]Leo[/name_m]. It might be from a poetic standpoint (there’s a stress on [name_m]Le[/name_m]- and [name_u]James[/name_u] so there’s a slight trochaic rhythm to [name_m]Leo[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]). I feel like [name_m]Leo[/name_m] can be adorable on a kid and dapper on a man. [name_m]Leo[/name_m] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] would also make nice sibling names.
Maybe it’s something to sleep on tonight. Come back to it tomorrow with a clear mind. Is something holding you back from using one name over another?
Hah! If your reaction is disappointment that no one likes [name_u]Finn[/name_u], it’s probably because you really like it! Which could mean it’s the one you should go with. I actually like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] better than [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] or [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
I’m not really a fan of [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]… not sure why. The spelling is definitely masculine, but when I hear it, I think more feminine.
From your list I like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] a lot (but think a longer name like [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] or [name_m]Finnbar[/name_m], then nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u] would work better). [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] sounds nice.
I also like [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m].
I really like [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] with the sister name…I like [name_m]Adrian[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m] a lot…but I agree with the suggestion that maybe you really like [name_u]Finn[/name_u] if you are disappointed. I like the suggestion of [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] or maybe [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] or [name_m]Finnian[/name_m] [name_m]Leo[/name_m].
[name_m]Just[/name_m] chiming in here re: [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]. I have an uncle [name_m]Adrian[/name_m]. The name has always rung masculine to me I guess by association, but he regularly gets mistaken for female. Gets called ‘Mrs. Soandso’ from telemarketers, etc. I think it’s likely due to an age thing though?
Still my vote is for [name_u]Finn[/name_u]. It sounds like that’s what you really want.
