We are having our second child, a girl, in [name_u]March[/name_u]. Our first, a boy, is named [name_u]Tyler[/name_u]. I have a few names I really like but reasons I may not want to use them. I would love any suggestions based on our likes! Thanks in advance.
Our Likes and why I’m iffy about them:
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - I love this name, it’s actually been the first on my list even before we new we were having a girl but I have a niece name [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f] and I feel it’s too similar and my hubby wasn’t too keen on it.
[name_u]Ember[/name_u] - too close to [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and may cause confusion
[name_f]Cora[/name_f] - may have a rise in popularity due to Downtown [name_u]Abbey[/name_u]
Aven - a friend named her daughter this
[name_f]Karis[/name_f] - a friend is named this
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] - obviously from the Hunger Games
I am really in search of a name that is unique but not weird. I like [name_f]Jane[/name_f] or [name_u]June[/name_u] as a middle name but I’m flexible with that as well.
Not sure if you like any of these name but I will try
[name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] - might be a nice compromise between [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and [name_u]Ember[/name_u].
[name_f]Coralie[/name_f] / [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] / [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] - all these names are similar to [name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Avalon[/name_f] - has lots of nice nn like [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_u]Loni[/name_u], [name_f]Vana[/name_f]
[name_f]Maris[/name_f] - means “of the sea” and is a middle name I am considering.
[name_f]Maren[/name_f]
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] - [name_f]Flower[/name_f]-name that is more obscure
[name_f]Magnolia[/name_f] - another strong feminine flower name
[name_f]Essie[/name_f] - means “star” and is a derivative of [name_f]Estelle[/name_f]/ [name_f]Estella[/name_f]
[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] - a variation of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] but I am not sure if this crosses the line from unique to weird for you
[name_m]How[/name_m] about…
[name_f]Flora[/name_f]
[name_u]Adair[/name_u]
[name_f]Adele[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f] or [name_f]Aminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Azalea[/name_f]
[name_f]Clover[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Este[/name_f]
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Irie[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Kerensa[/name_f]
[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Maple[/name_f]
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f]
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_u]Penrose[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f]
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Else[/name_f] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f]!
[name_f]Aviva[/name_f]
[name_f]Corinne[/name_f]
[name_f]Edith[/name_f]
[name_f]Enid[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Lark[/name_f]
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Mavis[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f]
[name_f]Wren[/name_f]
These are all very pretty names. I do like [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] as a derivative of [name_f]Cora[/name_f]. I like [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] but was trying to stay away from androgynous names. [name_f]Nova[/name_f] is interesting but my husband may consider that on the weird side.
