I’m not pregnant but my boyfriend and I want to start thinking about names early since our styles are so different it’ll take time really agreeing. This is our first together and my first over all.
We can both agree on [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Aubrey[/name] or [name]Adalyn[/name] for a girls first names, but neither one of us are sold. Can’t comprimise on middle names.
For a boy we like [name]Micah[/name] [name]Drake[/name].
Any suggestions on girls middle names? Or even alternatives?
I love [name]Micah[/name] [name]Drake[/name], and just seeing your favourite boy’s name in your signature - [name]Jude[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name] - that’s my second favourite at the moment!
To be honest I find [name]Aubrey[/name] masculine, and [name]Adalyn[/name] so trendy and neither fit very well with [name]Micah[/name] or that style. [name]Elizabeth[/name] is definitely my favourite because it’s classic and will work well throughout her life.
That’s kind of the thing. I like [name]Aubrey[/name] a lot, but I prefer it on a boy! But since [name]Aubrey[/name] is his favorite girl’s name, I decided to give it a fighting chance. [name]Adalyn[/name] is OK to me, but I don’t love it and I can’t imagine calling my daughter that, honestly. I think “[name]Addie[/name]” is adorable nickname though. [name]Elizabeth[/name] was my suggestion, but I’m having a hard time convincing him. he says it’s “too frilly”, but he loves the nickname [name]Ellie[/name].
Thank you for your suggestions. I really like [name]Elizabeth[/name] [name]Poppy[/name], I’ll have to run that by.
[name]Micah[/name] [name]Drake[/name] is a nice, strong name. It will serve your son well!
As for girls, I like [name]Elizabeth[/name]! It’s a classic name, and very beautiful. There are also tons of options for nicknames, too! [name]Aubrey[/name] is a pretty name as well. It’s not as common a name, but has a spunky yet sweet feel to it. I think [name]Adalyn[/name] is a little too trendy. It’s quite different from [name]Micah[/name], which I think reflects you and your partner’s name style.
I agree with the pp’s: [name]Micah[/name] [name]Drake[/name] is awesome. Since he likes [name]Ellie[/name] and you like [name]Addie[/name], but he finds [name]Elizabeth[/name] too frilly (say what?) and I agree that [name]Adalyn[/name] looks pretty trendy, what about:
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Elise[/name] or [name]Elyse[/name]
[name]Elena[/name]
[name]Bellamy[/name] ([name]Belle[/name] or [name]Amy[/name] would also work as nicknames)
[name]Adeline[/name] (I think this spelling looks less trendy)
[name]Ada[/name] or [name]Adah[/name]
[name]Adair[/name] (frequently used for boys, but [name]Blair[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are similar and used for girls)
Also (as firsts or middles):
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Hattie[/name] (on its own or for [name]Harriet[/name] or [name]Henrietta[/name])
[name]Talullah[/name] (nn [name]Lula[/name] or after you, [name]Tally[/name])
[name]Jessamine[/name] or [name]Jessamy[/name]
[name]Lila[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name] (or [name]Lucille[/name])
[name]Emmeline[/name] (nn [name]Emme[/name] or [name]Lina[/name])
[name]Rosalie[/name]
[name]Willa[/name]
Thank you for all of the suggestions! All were very helpful, I’ve got a lot of new options to look into. I agree that [name]Adalyn[/name] is too trendy, thanks for the opinions on that. I especialy love the suggestions or [name]Harriet[/name]/[name]Henrietta[/name] with the nickname [name]Hattie[/name] - Thank you, Ellenelle for backing me up on that, LOL. I’ve wanted a [name]Henrietta[/name] nn [name]Hattie[/name] since my teenage years, but [name]Aaron[/name] (my boyfriend) thinks it’s too old!
