I like [name]Jude[/name], hubby prefers [name]Judah[/name]. [name]Jude[/name] seems more masculine, relaxed and hip to me, whereas [name]Judah[/name] seems to have more of a Biblical reference, which we weren’t necessarily going for. However, our last name starts with ‘S’, so if there’s another [name]Jude[/name] in class, he will become [name]Jude[/name] S. [name]Judas[/name]? Like I said, we aren’t trying to go for a Biblical feel, but the negative connotation associated with [name]Judas[/name] is pretty strong. Is this an issue or a non-issue?
I prefer [name]Jude[/name] myself. I have a feeling that if you call your son [name]Judah[/name], he’ll end up being called [name]Jude[/name] anyway. Am I right? I say take your chances that they’ll be another [name]Jude[/name] in his classroom. [name]Jude[/name] is a wonderful name!
I definitely prefer [name]Jude[/name]. I agree that [name]Judah[/name] has more of a Biblical feel to it, which isn’t really my style. I wouldn’t worry too much about the [name]Jude[/name] S. thing, especially because the name isn’t common enough that he would be likely to have another [name]Jude[/name] in his class. [name]Even[/name] if he did, I don’t see kids picking up on the [name]Jude[/name] S./[name]Judas[/name]. I could be wrong, but I don’t see it being a big deal. [name]Jude[/name] is great! Good luck convincing your h
I’m with you and the pp’s on this one. I like [name]Jude[/name] better, for the reasons you mentioned. But I guess [name]Judah[/name] can go by [name]Jude[/name] but it doesn’t make too much sense the other way around, so whichever you pick will be fine.
Yes, I much prefer [name]Jude[/name]. I agree that [name]Judah[/name] definitely comes with Biblical connotations and the -ah takes away a lot of the ‘coolness’ of [name]Jude[/name] to me. Wouldn’t worry about the ‘[name]Jude[/name] S.’ thing. I don’t know too many Judes, and I think it would sound more like ‘[name]Jude[/name] Ess’ rather than ‘[name]Jude[/name] Us’ so most wouldn’t make the connection.
Personally, I would go with [name]Judah[/name] nn [name]Jude[/name]. But I understand why you might want to go with [name]Jude[/name]. [name]Jude[/name] is nice, too.
I love [name]Jude[/name] but dislike [name]Judah[/name], for reasons that you mentioned already. I just find [name]Jude[/name] much more masculine and likeable.
[name]Jude[/name], definitely.
