This is my first post here, although I have been lurking for some time(: Anyways I am due at the beginning of [name]November[/name] for our 3rd boy! We have a name picked out and don’t plan on changing atleast his first name. We are going with [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Eero[/name]. We chose [name]Jasper[/name] just because we both love the name. The middle name was not easy to find. We went with an E middle name because my dh middle name is [name]Eric[/name] and wanted the same initial. The reason why we don’t want to use [name]Eric[/name] is because it is also my dh’s brothers name(yeah [name]MIL[/name] was real original with naming her kids! LOL!) So with [name]Eero[/name] being a form of [name]Eric[/name] and because it is pronounced [name]Arrow[/name](dh is a big time hunter), it fit perfectly! Ok now is the question- is the name way to twilight because of this? I do watch the movies and have read one of the books, so I know about [name]Jasper[/name] being in the series, but completely forgot about the [name]Aro[/name] vampire in there. I know it would not be spelled the same, but it is pronounced the same. I don’t want anyone thinking we are twilight obsessed! HA! His name will remain a secret until birth so I need honest opinions, do we change his middle name or don’t worry about it?
I don’t think it’s an issue at all. I wasn’t aware of it and I’ve read all the books. The Twilight association will die down after a while (already is a bit) and then all your left with is a handsome, traditional name.
I think [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Eero[/name] sounds very cool and handsome (though I wouldn’t have guessed the pronunciation of [name]Eero[/name]).
Although I named my girl [name]Arrow[/name] (my dh is a big hunter too & her big bro is [name]Hunter[/name]…LOL) I say [name]Don[/name]'t worry about it one bit! The middle name isn’t used that often & ALOT of people go through life without hardly ever using their middle name. Actually I don’t even know what my best friend’s middle name is & I’ve known her for 15yrs! And with the spelling of [name]Eero[/name], you could make the connection with the Greek mythology [name]Eros[/name]. All that matters is that you & hubby are happy with it! Seriously!! [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Eero[/name] sounds good.
As a Finnish American I just see the name and am excited a Finnish name is being used - it makes me feel a little bolder to consider some. It just makes me think of the architect. I think you’re in good shape! Nice combo!
I think [name]Jasper[/name] [name]Eero[/name] is a beautiful name. Very handsome and the spelling of [name]Eero[/name] is amazing. I don’t think you need to worry about the Twilight association at all.
I was going to say – I’m pretty sure that [name]Eero[/name] is a Finnish name and [name]Jasper[/name] was used well before Twilight. I think it’s fine.
