After years of contemplating names, I am finally expecting our second baby! He or she will join big brother [name_u]Sage[/name_u].
My current front runner for a girl is [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f].
I also like [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (too popular now,) [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], Sunna. It’s a coincidence that they all happen to start on the S sound.
This baby seems to be calling for an ancient, subtly spiritual name.
I love the name [name_f]Veda[/name_f] (pr Vay-dah).
It is Sanskrit for knowledge, which I think is an empowering message to give a little girl these days. I love how it balances being simple but also sophisticated and very pretty.
And I love the character from My Girl
Not sure how I would spell though - [name_f]Veda[/name_f] / [name_f]Vada[/name_f] / [name_f]Veida[/name_f] / Vaida / Veyda.
Other ideas:
[name_f]Sansa[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f] (has bible connotations and is Gaelic for sea, pretty spiritual)
[name_u]Shiloh[/name_u]
Some of these sound like [name_f]Seraphine[/name_f] / [name_f]Sophie[/name_f], others are more biblical/heaven, some relate to the stars/mythology/sky, sun, light, & moon
[name_f]Sunniva[/name_f] was going to be my suggestion too, love it with [name_u]Sage[/name_u]! [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] or [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] would be wonderful too.
[name_f]Veda[/name_f] is definitely on my list! I think Ayurveda is known enough (at least in my area) that I wouldn’t worry about spelling issues and thus would go with the original spelling.
I also love [name_f]Mara[/name_f], which brings me to one of my family names, which I will most likely use for one of the two middle names
[name_f]Sansa[/name_f] is interesting too- thanks again!
