I really like lou-chee-ah for [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] but I know it’s not very popular so I’d assume [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] was probably said loo-see-ah if I was going to pronounce it aloud.

Of the two options I prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. It’s airy and sweet, and I like the nickname potential. [name_f]Laila[/name_f] is nice, but something about it doesn’t bring it any higher than “OK” in my esteem.

I pronounce the name like loo-see-ah. However, I wouldn’t be surprised by either of the other pronunciations.

Of [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Laila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f], I like [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]. I’ve never really loved [name_f]Laila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f], while I’ve always found [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] stunning. It’s such a warm and beautiful name. However, if you do end up leaning toward [name_f]Laila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f], I prefer the [name_f]Laila[/name_f] spelling- it feels more elegant and smoother to me.

This is one of the names I almost always ask. Occasionally I will take a guess based on last name if the surname is very Spanish or very Italian- so if I saw [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] Gonzalez I’d guess loo-see-ah and if I saw [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] Ciccone I’d guess loo-chee-ah. I like both the Spanish and the Italian pronunciations, but I’m not a fan of loo-sha; I’ve never met a [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] that pronounces it that way, so that may just be a matter of familiarity.

Personally, I prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] to [name_f]Layla[/name_f], but I really like both names.

[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] is lovely (I would automatically say loo-SEE-ah, however could easily be corrected and thereafter have no problem using any of the prounciations. I do prefer [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] to [name_f]Laila[/name_f], though both names are nice.

[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is a new love of mine and I absolutely adore it. I love its lightness, its versatility, and its meaning. I always pronounce it loo-see-ah unless told otherwise. (The other pronunciations are counter-intuitive to me.)

I would pronounce it any of those, and with this name I would ask how it is pronounced rather than have a guess.

I didn’t vote in the poll because I never know how to say [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]! I knew two growing up: [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-chi-uh, and [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-sha. But I know a baby [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-see-uh now! Honestly I like all three pronunciations, but for me, the ambiguity of the name would bother me. However, it is a beautiful name with lots of great nickname possibilities (and a lovely meaning), so maybe you could see ambiguity in a positive light as versatility!

I really like [name_f]Laila[/name_f]/[name_f]Layla[/name_f], but I would choose either the [name_f]Layla[/name_f] spelling or spell it as [name_f]Leila[/name_f], because based on the Lailas I’ve met, I would pronounce it as “lye-la” (also a beautiful name).

[name_f]Layla[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] are both great, in my opinion.

Same, that name has like 4 different pronounciations that are all correct.

I love both [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] and [name_f]Laila[/name_f]. My only reservation with [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] is that I only like the Loo-see-a pronunciation and I think it would get mispronounced a lot, so by the slightest of margins, I would vote for [name_f]Laila[/name_f].

Loo-see-ah is my default pronunciation, but I’ve always had a soft spot for Loo-chee-ah.

The way I say it is different from those in poll. I say Loo-shee-uh - almost Loo-see-uh but with a slight sh sound.

I think I prefer this to [name_f]Layla[/name_f]/[name_f]Leyla[/name_f]. [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] [name_u]Grey[/name_u] is a lovely combo
