[name]Hi[/name] all,
I’m new but have been browsing around and am hoping you ladies can help me out!
We are having a little girl at the end of [name]July[/name], her mn will be [name]Sarah[/name] in honor of my grandma. Her older sis is [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. We like classic, feminine names and I would prefer to stay out of the top 20-30. I had no idea [name]Amelia[/name] would get so popular!
Anyway, here are some names I like to give you an idea - suggestions of something that sounds good with [name]Sarah[/name] would be so helpful. Our last name starts with a W and does not sound good with names that are also nouns ([name]Pearl[/name], [name]Violet[/name], etc).
Names I like that DH has vetoed:
[name]Margot[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Norah[/name] - doesn’t work with [name]Sarah[/name] and friends just used it
Maybes
[name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Elyse[/name]
[name]Evelyn[/name] (DH’s clear favorite, but I’m not sold)
For the names your DH has vetoed, I really like [name]Eleanor[/name] with [name]Amelia[/name], but if he doesn’t-- maybe it’s not worth pushing. We’ll focus on the others that you both like.
[name]Norah[/name] - very cute with [name]Amelia[/name]. If you are open to using another form of [name]Sarah[/name], this could work. [name]Sarai[/name] comes to mind. Or maybe could you use the grandmother’s mn or birth stone or something like that? [name]Seraphina[/name]? [name]Serendipity[/name], [name]Serenity[/name], [name]Serena[/name] keeps the same beginning sound? Or any S name?
I like all of your maybes with [name]Amelia[/name] [name]Joy[/name]. I’ll list some alternates if you aren’t completely sold on the originals.
[name]Eliza[/name] - [name]Liza[/name], [name]Elspeth[/name], [name]Elizabeth[/name]/[name]Elisabeth[/name], [name]Elsa[/name], [name]Elsie[/name], [name]Eloise[/name], [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Ellery[/name]
[name]Elyse[/name] - same suggestions as [name]Eliza[/name]. I slightly prefer [name]Elyse[/name] with [name]Amelia[/name] only because they have different endings. [name]Both[/name] [name]Eliza[/name] and [name]Elyse[/name] are a little hard to say with [name]Sarah[/name].
[name]Evelyn[/name] - I love this name! Have you considered just plain [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name]? [name]Evelina[/name]? [name]Eveline[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name].
Here are some more ideas for [name]Amelia[/name]'s sister.
