Need some honesty here

What do you think of this sibset?

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u]- [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is mom’s maiden name and [name_u]Story[/name_u] is the county I went to college at, plus my partner’s and I’s meeting is quite the story to tell!

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]- [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is a family name on my side and my partner’s. [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is the family business’s name on my side.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]- [name_f]My[/name_f] partner was a computer major, so he loves [name_f]Ada[/name_f] computer language and the whole first woman computer programmer. [name_u]Kim[/name_u] is his mom’s name.

Please let me know what you think! I put a lot of thought into these.

A lot of ppl come on here wanting their kids names to “match” or “flow”… But I have to say every name you have chosen seems to be really special. They all mean something to you. [name_f]Do[/name_f] they technically match, no, but I think they are all great names, FN & MN!!

I would possibly suggest switching the boys names, [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] together and don’t think that [name_u]Winter[/name_u] fits in very well. It’s not a word name that is used very often, definitely not an established name in general while [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] are both names with a long history of usage.
I also think that [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is too much of a thing, it’s not a summer story but a winter one, you get me here?
I think if you want to use all three names together, I would pair [name_f]Ada[/name_f] with [name_u]Story[/name_u] and use [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] just so she has a more normal name to fall back on and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] could go by something just as quirky as her sister if she wanted to.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is extremely cheesy and a little silly, I’m afraid. It’s a great idea to use your maiden name, but I wouldn’t pair it with another word name.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] would be lovely.

I love names with personal meaning no matter what style they are! So in my opinion that means you can’t go wrong!

I know it’s a very well-received name, but I’m not a fan of [name_u]Winter[/name_u], personally. It’s not even the name, I just despise the snow and cold so much I just couldn’t name my child after it, haha.

[name_u]Story[/name_u] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] (as a nn for [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f]) are on my list as well and I don’t even have cool ties to them like you do! Agree with previous posts that [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] or [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] are better matchups though.

I Like the boys name too. I don’t have many classics for boys that are favorites, but if I had to pick one it would definitely be [name_m]Joseph[/name_m]. ([name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] even more!)

I like them all separately, and especially because they obviously mean so much to your and your partner.
I’m not a huge fan of the middle name [name_u]Story[/name_u], and I actually like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] better in the middle name spot.
If I am being totally honest (and if I were you, I guess, since this is totally my own opinion) I would keep [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] as they are, but have [name_u]Winter[/name_u] as a middle name and wait for another meaningful first name to come along that compliments the classic feel of both [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f].
Some suggestions that would go nicely with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]:
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u]: I like the names [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_u]Story[/name_u], but not together - it’s a bit too wordy for my liking.
[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]: [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is very handsome, as is [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. I like the names together, though I would prefer [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]: [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is so gorgeous and simple! I don’t like [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u], but it sounds nice with [name_f]Ada[/name_f].

Overall, I think [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_f]Ada[/name_f] go well together, but [name_u]Winter[/name_u] sticks out quite a lot.

I know a baby [name_u]Winter[/name_u], but you can’t use [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. Unless you are writing a novel.

I love word names. However, [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is too much. The meaning for you is fantastic. I’m with silverr on the idea of saving [name_u]Winter[/name_u] (and [name_u]Story[/name_u]) as a middle name for when another meaningful first name come along. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] are great.

I kind of like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] because it obviously refers to the winter but the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] sounds like summer! I love how all of the names are of different style but don’t sound off-key together, and each one is different. That’s my favorite kind of “sibset.” I also think it’s important that each name has a special meaning and that is definitely true with your names. So I give it a thumbs up!

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is a lovely, solid, classic name with lots of literary, Biblical, and historical connections.

I agree with the PPs that [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is too word-y, too much like a description rather than a name. I like opheliaflora’s suggestion of [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. You could also consider [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Astoria[/name_f]. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] sounds lovely too but is a bit too unisex for my taste.

Took heart to all your suggestions and this is what I came up with!

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] and [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u].

[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is a name I have loved since I was a kid and it’s Italian which has significance to how my partner and I met. [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] are both family names.

I need one more male name for my sib set. Any suggestions? Here is what I like:
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]- Grandpa’s favorite tractor
[name_m]Edward[/name_m]- family name, need nns though
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]- Name of the childhood school I went to and it’s religious ties to it
[name_m]David[/name_m]- [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite biblical figure
[name_m]Hosea[/name_m]- favorite book in the bible
[name_m]Deacon[/name_m]- Church again, but no big significance
[name_m]Asher[/name_m]- means happy and name of cabin I stayed at
[name_u]Neil[/name_u]- means clouds and partner and I met on a plane

More thoughts??

I think your names are perfect! I love that each has its own significance AND you seem to really love them. It’s not like you feel obligated to use them. I adore the nickname [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] for [name_u]Winter[/name_u], by the way, and have always thought [name_u]Story[/name_u] is lovely as a name. I think your future children will love hearing all about the special meanings behind their names!

I like [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_m]Paul[/name_m]!

I agree with the suggestion of shuffling the girls’ names & possibly flipping the boys’ name.

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] & [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] works better for me than [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] & [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u]. TBH as it is I don’t like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] at all.
I like [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] or [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] - I think it works both ways but [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] work better beside [name_u]Winter[/name_u] & [name_f]Ada[/name_f].

[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: [name_m]Just[/name_m] saw your more recent update.

Loving [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. I think it makes more sense with [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m]. I like [name_f]Olive[/name_f] [name_u]Story[/name_u] next to your other picks, and for a little chappie I think you’ll need to keep looking. Go with what is most significant for you.

Thank you everyone!

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u]!

And as mentioned by Jamjam, I’d choose [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m].

As for [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_f]Kimberley[/name_f]…well, this doesn’t really float my boat…but does that matter?? Of course not! As long as you like it, that’s all that matters.

However, as mentioned by Namesage, I do like [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] with the NN [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. Or [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Aria[/name_f] etc. Cheers

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] fit perfectly and even though I am not a fan of [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] or [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m], they both match and flow nicely. [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] sounds a bit ‘wordy’ to me. I would choose either [name_u]Winter[/name_u] or [name_u]Story[/name_u] as a middle and pick a name that fits better with [name_f]Ada[/name_f] and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] as a first name. [name_f]Martha[/name_f] or [name_f]Augusta[/name_f] would be an okay fit.

I think it’s great when names have personal meanings attached to them and I agree that even if they don’t match visually they all are connected in that they each have a personal meaning attached to them. I really like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u], I think it’s very poetic, it’s my favorite on your list! [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is cute, I have a personal dislike of [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] but if it honors a family member that’s great. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] flows well. [name_m]Joesph[/name_m] is one of my favorites and [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] sounds good

[name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u] is way too much for me. I appreciate the reasons behind each name, but you will not be there every time she introduces herself to explain the origin of [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_u]Story[/name_u]. People will only see and hear a cheesy, cooky name that cannot fit an adult.

[name_m]Joseph[/name_m] [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is handsome. [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] is one of those names I think of as “perfect”. It has history, presence and sweetness. [name_m]Gabriel[/name_m] is ok.

[name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] is fantastic. I am generally not a fan of [name_u]Kimberly[/name_u] but the full name is a winner.
