We are expecting our baby girl in [name_f]April[/name_f], and need some input on her name. We thought we were set on [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] (a-luh), but now we aren’t so sure. Her middle name will most likely be [name_f]Marie[/name_f], as it is a very long tradition in my family. The other middle name we love is [name_f]Jane[/name_f].
Which do you like best? Her big brother’s name is [name_m]Liam[/name_m] [name_m]Gregory[/name_m].
I like [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and I also really like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I think I like those better than [name_f]Ayla[/name_f].
I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]! With [name_m]Liam[/name_m], I like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] the best. I think [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] or [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is very sweet. I’m completely biased in favor of [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f]–it’s been my favorite girls’ name for nearly 4 years now–but they’re all lovely. I’m personally quite hesitant about [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]–I can never tell if it’s supposed to be said as EYE-lah or AY-lah, and then it always seems like a trendy phonetic spelling, like it’s trying to make [name_f]Isla[/name_f] easier to digest, although with AY-lah as a prn., I know that’s sort of silly. It’s just really hard to figure out, for me, for some reason, and I feel like it’d be quite a hassle to live with. It sounds pretty, but I’m not sure how easy it’d be to live with. I think people would hear other names quite often, too, like [name_f]Kayla[/name_f], or [name_f]Hayley[/name_f], etc. I really love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f], though!
Depending on where you live, I’d strongly advise against [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. It could be seen as offensive to Christians. I’m perplexed by her popularity.
I’d also advise against [name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f]. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name, but not with [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. Too matchy/ alliterative.
[name_f]Ava[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f] is my favorite. I also like [name_f]Isla[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], but I can’t stand [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] as a nn.
