I was hoping someone might inspire us. We are expecting our second daughter. We already have a [name]Liam[/name], [name]Archer[/name] and [name]Mila[/name]. We need another girls name and love names similar to [name]Mila[/name] but want one that doesn’t rhyme. So far we have a small list. I like [name]Nia[/name] but hubby isn’t so keen. He likes it better with an ‘h’ on the end as in [name]Niah[/name] as he feels it’s more of a name with four letters (??!!). Any help is a appreciated. We are quite fond of two syllable names
I’m not fond of [name]Paxton[/name] for a girl, but I do like just [name]Pax[/name], especially in the middle spot. She was a [name]Roman[/name] goddess, so I don’t think that’s as out there for a girl as it may initially seem.
Your first four names all sound too similar to [name]Mila[/name] to my ears. (Well, I’m making an assumption that you’re pronouncing it Mee-la, the same way [name]Liam[/name] is pronounced. If you’re pronouncing it with a long “i”, as in “eye”, then this wouldn’t be the case, and I’d like [name]Thea[/name] the best.) Strictly in terms of rounding out the sibset, my preference from your list would be [name]Cara[/name], but I think you can do better. (I agree that [name]Paxton[/name] is too masculine, and that in a group of [name]Liam[/name], [name]Archer[/name], [name]Mila[/name], and [name]Paxton[/name], most people would think that [name]Paxton[/name] was a boy).
I like the suggestions of [name]Pippa[/name], [name]Zara[/name], [name]Stella[/name], [name]Alba[/name], and [name]Willa[/name]. Though strictly speaking I do think anything that ends in “la” is also too similar to [name]Mila[/name].
[name]Ebba[/name]
[name]Nissa[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] or [name]Tess[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
[name]Pearl[/name]
Rumi
[name]Katja[/name]
You and your husband chose lovely names for your children so far I like your suggestion of [name]Cara[/name]–I think it’s overlooked by many. It’s very sweet and goes well with [name]Mila[/name]
Other suggestions:
[name]Vera[/name]
[name]Nina[/name]
[name]Rosa[/name]
[name]Kiera[/name]
[name]Nyla[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Ada[/name]
[name]Isla[/name]
First, congratulations. Second, you berries are awesome. Lots of sensible advice and great ideas. I definitely second the notion that anything ending in the eela sound is too close, especially as you also have the anagram [name]Liam[/name]. And I would also say, assuming you want to stick with a short, two-syllable name, that you should avoid names that end with ee-a or la – again, too close.
[name]Pax[/name] or [name]Paxton[/name] are great ideas for a middle name.
[name]Cara[/name] is a good fit. Other suggestions I like from above are:
[name]Love[/name] [name]Cara[/name]! (and I second the suggestion of [name]Cara[/name] [name]Paxton[/name], it’s pretty )
[name]Kaia[/name]
[name]Lara[/name]
[name]Febe[/name] (a variation of [name]Phoebe[/name])
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Nina[/name] (I adore [name]Nina[/name], and it’s close to your favourite: [name]Nia[/name])
[name]Luna[/name]
[name]Ilsa[/name]
[name]Oona[/name]
[name]Asha[/name]
[name]Elise[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Cora[/name]
