[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] honestly makes me think of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]. Not a bad thing, I love [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], but maybe something to think about…
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is charming! I thought of [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], too, and also the actress [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] (Downton [name_u]Abbey[/name_u], [name_f]Cinderella[/name_f], War & [name_u]Peace[/name_u], etc.). I personally don’t like boys names on girls, anyway. So, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], all the way
Oh how funny! I’ve never read the books! Haha that is good to know! thank you so much for your feedback!
Agreed! I also thought of the actress, and also [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] (which is rather ironic, since I’ve never read any of the books, haha!). I hesitate with both of them, because [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] together is just a bit too floral, but [name_u]James[/name_u] is too masculine for me, and the other connections, too. If you were open to using a variant of a family name, like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] (which doesn’t have a meaning relating to roses at all, surprisingly!) or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] (feminine form of [name_m]Jacques[/name_m], which is the [name_m]French[/name_m] form of [name_u]James[/name_u] and [name_m]Jacob[/name_m]), I think I could get behind either of those quite easily. As they are, though, I’m going for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f].
Good luck!
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] just screams [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] to me (Not necessarily a bad thing as I love the series but if I heard the name I would assume that you loved the series too). My vote goes for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] although it seems a little redundant as their both flower names. I feel that they sound a bit better as a pair.
I am not a fan of the double flower name. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] - I don’t like [name_u]James[/name_u] on a girl. I’d keep fishing
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] Depp is about to explode, she’s been in every underground fashion magazine this year, plus 2 well-received films, and just appeared at The Met [name_f]Gala[/name_f] last night. She is going to co-star with [name_f]Natalie[/name_f] Portman in a film coming out this year. She’s modeled for [name_f]Chanel[/name_f] this year and will soon be on the covers of Vogue, Vanity Fair, [name_f]Elle[/name_f], you name it. She will be a household name. While I’m on the subject, her full name is [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f] Depp. So you could do [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] ----, and just call her [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
I personally don’t mind to double floral in [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] because it has a lovely sound. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] or [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], however, might be too much flower. Idk. But I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]! Those are two of my fav names, and they are a gorgeous pair. Great suggestion [name_u]Ashley[/name_u], and I totally second it.
@anyagreenwich, I forgot about [name_m]Johnny[/name_m] Depp’s daughter [name_f]Lily[/name_f]-[name_f]Rose[/name_f].
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds silly to me since they are both flowers. It would be like saying [name_u]Red[/name_u] [name_u]Green[/name_u], but in flowers.
However, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] & [name_u]James[/name_u] are [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m]'s parents names, and I totally hate the use of [name_u]James[/name_u] on girls (it’s a boys name!).
[name_m]How[/name_m] about combining [name_u]James[/name_u] & [name_f]Rose[/name_f]? I got [name_m]Jose[/name_m], which could be short for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]? [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] would be beautiful, and incorporates both names without either of the bad side effects.
I’m torn, [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] screams [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] to me, and [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a repeated floral combination. Not everyone is a [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] fan, but many people are and will pick up on the reference. I love [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] though so it’s lovely to me. [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] sounds great, but the repetition throws me off. In the end I voted for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but I’m not too keen on either middle name.
I love both so much! I don’t mind the double floral at all. They both say [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] to me, ([name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a name used as well) but I think it is a fine reference and if people do understand it they most likely will love it! I don’t think there is anything wrong with the reference. I love [name_u]James[/name_u] on a girl!! They are both charming names, but in the end I will say lily [name_u]James[/name_u] because it is beautiful and unexpected.
I just want to say to everyone commenting on this post, that the op and family has already decided on two beautiful names! Please don’t try and put them down for either one, they are both wonderful and please stop trying to change their minds! It is unlikely that they will so please don’t criticize them…
Please let us know what you choose! [name_f]Happy[/name_f] naming!
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful and charming. I personally feel neutral about [name_u]James[/name_u] for a boy and definitely not fond of it on a girl. I personally would find a different way to honor a [name_u]James[/name_u].
If it weren’t for the double flower combination I would like [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. Instead I voted for [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u] but think [name_u]James[/name_u] might be too harsh for [name_f]Lily[/name_f].
[name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]!!! Gorgeous.
I don’t like [name_u]James[/name_u] for a girl and it is the name of an actress.
I prefer [name_f]Lily[/name_f] [name_u]James[/name_u]. I just think it sounds cuter/more distinct, and I’m not sure about the two different flowers in one name.
Both are sweet tho. Good luck!
