While i like my last name ([name]Matthews[/name]) it’s also a bit on the common side so trying really head to find a less common first name to go with it so when my son grows up he’s not one of a million “[name]John[/name] [name]Matthews[/name]” floating around out there. Below is a list of potentials, let me know which one’s you think stand out (but doesn’t sound super common).

I’m partial to [name]Brandon[/name], [name]Drake[/name], [name]Cyrus[/name] and [name]Edwin[/name] for the unusualness factor. [name]Noah[/name] would be pretty common; [name]Seth[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] is a lot of TH; [name]Silas[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] are a lot of S ([name]Cyrus[/name] doesn’t bother me as much)–though I really like all of them! My least favorite is [name]Rance[/name]: too much like the word “rancid”.
[name]Kai[/name] is my favorite, but it is going to be very common when he grows up. I like [name]Drake[/name] also. [name]Riley[/name] is a girls name (I know 8 of them) and I agree with above, [name]Rance[/name] sounds like rancid. We had the same problem, our last name is Simmons, so our son is [name]Leland[/name] and still unsure of our little girl on the way. Good luck to you.
I really like these names, but they are fairly common: [name]Brandon[/name], [name]Seth[/name], [name]Noah[/name], [name]Riley[/name]. So since you’re looking for a less common name, I wouldn’t go with those.
[name]Kai[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] jumps out as the best sounding combo to me.
Some of these would actually be quite common. Not so traditional as [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] or [name]John[/name] [name]Matthews[/name], but I think you’d be much more likely to meet a [name]Noah[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] than a [name]John[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] these days, actually.
That being said, [name]Silas[/name], [name]Noah[/name], [name]Seth[/name], [name]Cyrus[/name], and [name]Ewan[/name] are my favorites. I think [name]Silas[/name] [name]Matthews[/name] is a perfect blend of traditional, familiar, and yet refreshing.
