We don’t know what we’re having yet, but have decided on a girl name: [name]Maya[/name], probably [name]Maya[/name] [name]Rose[/name] or [name]Maya[/name] [name]Sheree[/name]. A good friend of mine named her girl [name]Nya[/name]. Very similar sounds. She’s one of those friends that I rarely see anymore but we pick up right where we left off, whether it’s been a week or a year. Should I ask her about the name before we name our child?
It depends on how good a friend you consider her to be. If she’s someone you don’t see very often but dearly love, I’d mention it to her. If she’s someone you don’t see very often and don’t really think about much, I wouldn’t worry about it. The next time you see her, you can always play dumb: “Oh I guess they are kind of similar. [name]How[/name] about that!” (I’m bad, I know.)
