NEED your advice!

I’m due any day and need real advice on selecting a boys name. I have total name apathy except I have a ton of “rules”. I don’t know exActly what I like but I know exactly what I don’t.

  1. Can’t start with M. My daughter’s name starts with M ([name_f]Maren[/name_f]), as welll as our last name - 2 syllables

  2. Can’t end in the “E” sound. ie [name_u]Cody[/name_u],

  3. Nothing popular ([name_u]Aiden[/name_u]), unisex ([name_u]Avery[/name_u]), traditional ([name_m]Nathan[/name_m], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m]) or religious.

I really like ethnic sounding names. We are Norwegian, all of us are tall/blonde/blue. Most Norwegian sounds are awkward.

I love [name_m]Rafael[/name_m] but it does not match our heritage. Same with [name_u]Zion[/name_u]. Funny because they are both religious in origin.

Here is my current list (in no particular order):

  1. [name_m]Eero[/name_m]
[name_m]Will[/name_m] people say this correctly? Like [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]?

  2. [name_m]Bram[/name_m]
Again, will people say it correctly? Like [name_m]Brahm[/name_m].

  3. [name_m]Johan[/name_m]
No one seems to like this one.

  4. [name_m]Von[/name_m]
    Is it too short?

  5. [name_m]Boden[/name_m]
    Popular clothing line in Europe.

  6. [name_m]Nash[/name_m]
    Too American sounding?

  7. Dagr
    Too Norwegian sounding?

  8. [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]

  9. Endre
I like it with the E but hate it with an A. By sound everyone will assume its with an A.

I am open to breaking a rule for the right name. What are your thoughts? I feel lost. Are there any good names on this list? Which would you chose, if any?

THANK YOU!!

Know a few Norwegian people and one of the names they used for their sons was [name_m]Rasmus[/name_m]?

[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] is one of my favorite boy’s names and it happens to be Norwegian.
nick-o-ly rhymes with sky
[name_m]Nikolai[/name_m] [name_m]Atlas[/name_m]??

I kind of am leaning towards [name_m]Eero[/name_m] [name_m]Von[/name_m] [name_m]Truman[/name_m] Masters. I may drop the [name_m]Eero[/name_m] part and go with [name_m]Von[/name_m] [name_m]Truman[/name_m] Masters. [name_m]Eero[/name_m] is technically Finnish but it is a pet form of [name_m]Eirik[/name_m], which is also a family name. I’m not dead set on [name_m]Truman[/name_m] as a middle name but I would like to use it to honor my Grandfather if it flows with the first name. [name_m]Johan[/name_m] and [name_m]Magnus[/name_m] are also middle name possibilities, even [name_m]Bernard[/name_m], all off the family tree.

You actually double posted this thread, so now there are two threads saying the exact same thing. This one seems to be more popular so I would close the other thread and maybe copy and paste the single response from the other one just so you can have all the info in one place.

I like #2-4
[name_m]Bram[/name_m] - yes it would be pronounced correctly

[name_m]Von[/name_m] - If you think it is too short there is an alternate spelling [name_m]Vaughn[/name_m]

[name_m]Johan[/name_m] - my favorite of all the names, I love this name

The other names are not aesthetically the type of names I like.
Concerning [name_m]Eero[/name_m]- I’m not sure how to pronounce this and I would never guess it is pronounced like [name_m]Arrow[/name_m]
