I don’t think [name_m]Travis[/name_m] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] are overly matchy. Yes, it might trap you into a T theme, but it doesn’t have to - most ordinary people don’t really notice and each sibling is their own individual person and are not mentioned in a group that much, so I don’t think it matters much.

I much prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] to [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] (though I prefer just [name_f]Tess[/name_f] personally), and since [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] has personal meaning to you, I think it’s perfect  [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is very cute! x

Thanks for your response! I agree “just [name_f]Tess[/name_f]” is really cute, but we have a one-syllable last name, so two-syllable or longer first names just work better. Thanks again!

I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] by a long shot. It’s sweet and sassy, but still classic. I don’t think it is to matchy with [name_m]Travis[/name_m]. In fact I love them as a sibset. There is nothing wrong with [name_f]Nessa[/name_f], but it doesn’t have half as much charm as [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].

I don’t really like [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f].

[name_m]Both[/name_m] names are fine.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] is to me the name of an aging hippie. But that is my personal association. It also reminds me of [name_f]Tesla[/name_f] and Tesco.

Now, [name_f]Tess[/name_f] and [name_f]Tessie[/name_f] I like as I am an anglophile.

[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] is a lovely name and [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] or [name_f]Nessie[/name_f] sound charming to me as well.

All would do just fine.

I am not partial to siblings with the same initial letter though.

I voted for Tessa. Since it has so much meaning and positive association for you, I that I think you would always secretly wish you had used it. (You could always have four children - two T’s and two of another letter. Lol.)

Nessa/Nessie is a fine name, too, but Nessie is the Loch Ness Monster. If you go with Nerissa you might want to consider Nissa as the nn.

Ha! The part about the aging hippie made me lough out loud! So vivid a descriptor! We don’t really care for siblings with the same initials, either… that’s why I’m posting the poll. Not sure if we should compromise on that particular criterion, or not, given how much we both like the name. Thank you!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! Good solution, with the four kids… That’s what my parents did.
They had a M@tth3w, then a M!r@nd@, then a N@th@n and finally, a N@om!. N@om! is the only one they intentionally “letter shopped,” since they wanted to balance things out with 2 M’s and 2 N’s. They say M@tt and I “just sort of happened.” [name_f]My[/name_f] mom read my name in a book while pregnant with me, and fell in love with it, before she even knew I was on the way!

I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. I don’t think it’s too matchy with [name_m]Travis[/name_m]. I like it. I don’t care for [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] by itself or as a short form for [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] sounds really pretty. I think it’s great how personal the name is to ya’ll. If I were you, I’d go with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].
If you don’t mind a T- name theme I don’t think it’s too matchy with [name_m]Travis[/name_m].

I actually dislike [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] (NEHS-sah) as I feel that it sounds a bit wet and soggy as names go. I find it rather unappealing while [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Tess[/name_f] are much spunkier.

I think [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] would probably be my favorite option for a sister for [name_m]Travis[/name_m]. I think nn [name_f]Nissa[/name_f] (Nih-sah), despite the similar ending sound of [name_m]Travis[/name_m] would be a much better nn than [name_f]Nessa[/name_f].

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] by a mile! I don’t think [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] is bad, I think it is more of a nickname for [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f]! I also do not think [name_m]Travis[/name_m] and [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] sounds similar at all; they compliment each other greatly!
[name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] to me does not sound like a name, but if you like that should not stop you from using it!

This is tough because I am not fond of siblings sharing a first initial, but [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] has so many personal positive associations that I am drawn to it as a good fit for your family.

I guess the question is: Would you be okay with compromising on “family flow” to use the name you love?

Personally, I like both [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Nessa[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] makes a find standalone, but I have known girls named [name_f]Anessa[/name_f], [name_f]Jenessa[/name_f], [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Narissa[/name_f] who all occasionally go by [name_f]Nessa[/name_f], so it could work either way, given you found a given name you loved.

I think [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is darling, but I think [name_m]Travis[/name_m] & [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] sound much better together than [name_m]Travis[/name_m] & [name_f]Tessa[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] but I’m not a fan of siblings with the same beginning letter.

Bump please!

Go with [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], it’s clear it’s the one you’re attached to! and I don’t think two T names make you tied down for a third later on, since you know you’re not the type to shop for names that way. Good luck.

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f] by a landslide for me!

I have a weird/slightly negative association with the name [name_f]Nessa[/name_f]. In the musical Wisked, it’s short for Elphaba’s disabled sister, Nessarose, who after being ‘betrayed’ by the boy she falls for, becomes the Wicked Witch of the [name_f]East[/name_f].

Most people wouldn’t recognize the connection, but I would rather you be completely informed and prepared if you use the name!

Back to the point, I love [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and don’t think it’s too matchy at all!

I prefer [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Nessa[/name_f] as a nickname, however i like [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] much more than [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]. [name_m]Travis[/name_m] and [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f] do sound and look really good together though. hmm…
