Nevaeh vs. Heaven?

Out of curiosity, which of these two names would you choose?

Please no hate, we’re not expecting or TTC right now, it’s honestly just a general question. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] is nice, but not really our thing?

Thanks!

I actually think [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] sounds pretty, despite it not being my style, but [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] is a pretty and intuitive word name (especially for a middle).

I love the sound of [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] myself, haha.

See, I’m torn, because on one hand I do feel that way, but on the other, I feel like it’s more a way to use [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] without anyone writing it off as “cheesy”, which I have seen before? I do lean towards the latter meaning, haha. I also love [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] though - it’s so sweet.

I was thinking [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] might be a better choice, thank you!

Heaven!
[name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] has a pretty sound but if I was using the name for the meaning I would go for the word itself.

I prefer Naveah. It’s subtle.

I love [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] and think it’s sound so pretty, but I ultimately went with [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] since I don’t really like the backwards trend (I once knew a girl named Erised, I thought her name was neat!)

No hate but for me there may be no worse name than Navaeh. It is just silly to me.

Nevaeh seems most namelike to me. It’s not my personal style, but I don’t understand all the hate it gets – it has a pretty sound and a nice meaning.

I’d also like to throw [name_u]Haven[/name_u] in!

This is my thought exactly!

Hmm, I was concerned [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] would be seen as too cheesy, but I’m glad it’s not! I think that may be where I lean more to right now  Thanks everyone!

Tough one but I went with [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] in the end as i prefer the sounds. [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] is nice too though

I taught both a girl named [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] and a girl named [name_f]Heaven[/name_f].
I greatly prefer [name_f]Neveah[/name_f]! It has such a beautiful sound.

I actually like both of them, even though neither is my personal style, so I don’t think I can really choose. I like the sound of both, and I like both the less-wordy aspects of [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] but also specifically the straightforwardness of [name_f]Heaven[/name_f]. I guess the one issue with [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] is that I sometimes want to spell it [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] because there are more familiar names that end with -ah like [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].

I don’t mind the sound of [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] but I can’t get past the look.

Just a fun suggestion since it came to mind, but have you ever heard of Caelia? It’s a Latin name meaning “heaven” and it’s pronounced KAY-lee-ə. [name_f]Celia[/name_f] also shares this meaning.

Either is fine…just don’t use [name_f]Heavyn[/name_f]- I knew a girl with that spelling and thought using “heavy” in anyone’s name was unfortunate, even if it’s not pronounced that way. Creative spelling fail.

This is how I feel! I love the sound of [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] and I like the idea but I think its spelling isn’t intuitive. [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] seems to make more sense for the sound as well. It’s a shame because [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] as a name has just never been one I like, even though it’s pretty.

I think I’m the odd person out here, but having never encountered the name in real life, I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO PRONOUNCE NEVAEH !!!

It drives me insane. I’ve always found words spelled backwards to be confusing and find myself battling with making the same sounds in reverse and saying the new word how it’s spelled. Seeing this name over and over again is genuinely upsetting because it does not make sense to me.

I feel like it’s funky that [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] is [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] backwards but I like its sound a lot better. And the meaning is still equivalent to heaven to me as that’s the intent. Idk if it could be spelled more phonetically though?

Ooh, yeah, not a fan of that spelling, lol.

Caelia is really pretty, I quite like it! [name_f]My[/name_f] only issue is there’s a lot of similar sounding names already in the family (C@sey, [name_u]Haley[/name_u], Mik@yla, K@yleigh) and my niece tends to mix all of them up and blanket us all as [name_f]Kayleigh[/name_f], so I don’t know if I’d like to add another to the mix! [name_f]Celia[/name_f]'s not really my thing though

No worries, it’s pronounced as Neh-vay-ah

That’s how I feel about it too! I don’t know if phonetically would make me like it more or less, because then it does stray from the [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] thing for me lol.

I did know a Nevayah though!

Ooh what about [name_u]Haven[/name_u]? It sounds like an intermediate between the two almost and still has a similar meaning imo
