What do you guys think of the name Nevee (neh-vee)? Is it too out there? [name_f]My[/name_f] hubby and I love it but are worried it’s too unique?
I think I would like it better spelled Nevi for simplicity’s sake.
Reminds me of [name_f]Suri[/name_f]. I think it would work similarly in that it stands out but not to the point of distraction and seems wearable.
I think it’s sweet but as a nickname for [name_f]Neve[/name_f]. [name_f]Neve[/name_f] nn Nevie/Nevee.
I’m worried she will constantly have to correct people who might say it more like [name_u]Levi[/name_u] if we spelled it that way
Hubby didn’t like [name_f]Neve[/name_f]
Hmm maybe Nevy…more like levy than [name_u]Levi[/name_u]. I think due to it’s uniqueness she’d probably have to be correcting people a lot anyway whether it’s spelling or pronunciation
It isn’t my style, personally. It sounds a bit like a nickname - but on that note - it could make a good nickname for the current popular name [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f].
We aren’t religious so that’s not really our style of name though it is beautiful
That’s fair, I guess I shouldn’t be too worried about her having to correct people. I know lots of people have to do that everyday
I like the sound, not the look of the name so much. It’s definitely not too unique, that wouldn’t be a problem. It seems like a really sweet name!
Thank you We haven’t decided exactly how we want to spell it yet!
While I know the “heaven” association is there, I don’t know if it’s necessarily a religious name due to its wide use. It’s kind of like [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Mary[/name_f], or [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], for examples. They are such popular choices that I don’t think people would make a religious association at all. It’s kind of like how [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] was at the top of the charts for several years and it wasn’t weird for it to be a choice for families that weren’t from a Spanish background.
Absolutely, it’s just not for us but thank you so much!
It sounds nice although I’m not sure how I feel about the spelling
I honestly think people would read it straight away as [name_f]Neve[/name_f]- she would spend her entire life telling people that her name isn’t [name_f]Neve[/name_f] especially considering how many spellings there are of it. It’s a nickname, it’s cute as a nn for [name_f]Neve[/name_f] or as someone else suggested [name_f]Neveah[/name_f], but if you don’t like either of those, I wouldn’t use it.
Nevee is sweet and I’d pronounce it as you do
I love it
I don’t mind the correcting of the name, just trying to find the spelling that would be the best looking and easiest!
I like the sound of it, but if it were me, I’d worry people would think it is derived from [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f]. Nevee is okay, but I prefer the spelling Nevie better.
Nevie would make things easier!
