[name_m]Hi[/name_m] again, Berries! I’m looking for new additions to my list. I am looking for suggestions and combos that fit my current “style”. Here is my existing list:
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_m]Xander[/name_m]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
And here are some possible new gems I’ve discovered…
[b]-[name_m]Jadon[/name_m]
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m][/b]
Be brutally honest when giving opinions! I need the help, [name_m]TRUST[/name_m] ME! Thanks in advance!
I absolutely love [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m].
I think [name_m]Levi[/name_m] and [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] are nice.
I’m not a big fan of the last name as first name as first name like [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_m]Lawson[/name_m]. I don’t think they really work as first names at all. I also don’t really like [name_u]Jadon[/name_u], it looks like someone spelled [name_m]Jason[/name_m] wrong and I don’t like [name_m]Jason[/name_m] to begin with!
I didn’t comment on your other post, so here are my takes on the whole list:
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]: makes me think of the whiskey, but I still don’t dislike it.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m]: [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and nn “[name_u]Sam[/name_u]” despite its popularity.
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_m]Xander[/name_m]: Another classic that’s very popular right now, but I still love it.
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]: Makes me think of the FX cartoon, so I’ve never been able to get behind this one. If I make myself set that aside, it is one of the most appealing “profession” names
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]: I love this one. Husband hates it, though I adore the nn “[name_m]Dom[/name_m]”
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]: I really like [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] but dislike all potential nicknames. [name_m]Barnes[/name_m] sounds like a butler to me, and [name_m]Barnie[/name_m]/[name_m]Barney[/name_m] makes me simultaneously think of the dinosaur and [name_m]Barney[/name_m] Gumble
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]: It’s not really my style, but it’s still a nice name. It’s a respectable classic.
[name_m]Henry[/name_m]: I love this but there are a zillion [name_m]Henry[/name_m]'s in every swanky neighborhood around here. Despite rankings, I feel like this has to be number 1 in high-income areas.
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m]: One of my favorite names!
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u]: Sorry, but [name_u]Jayden[/name_u] has completely ruined this for me.
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]: Not my style at all. I feel like if I met a little [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] I’d think that he was named just to be “unique” and not because anyone actually liked the name. (You call for brutal honesty, haha)
[name_m]Luke[/name_m]: It’s OK. I used to love it, but now it’s just kind of meh for me.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]: I really like [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], and I prefer “[name_m]Nate[/name_m]” to “[name_m]Nathan[/name_m]” as a nn
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]: [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]. I would seriously think about using it if one of my close friends hadn’t just named her son [name_m]Isaac[/name_m].
[name_m]Levi[/name_m]: Also just OK for me. I think it’s a nice, sturdy biblical name, but it’s just not really my style.
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]: OK.
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]: Too trendy for me, but I don’t hate it.
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m]: see comments for [name_m]Paul[/name_m]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]: I know too many people with this surname to consider it as a first name.
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]: I have an irrational hatred for this name. I just can’t stand it, and I couldn’t even tell you why.
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u] - Dislike, makes me think of the uber-trendy [name_u]Jayden[/name_u].
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] - Like, is on my GP list. But seems a little “out-there” compared to your other names.
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] - Cute, also like [name_m]Lucas[/name_m].
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] - good strong, masculine name with many nickname options from the classic [name_m]Nate[/name_m] to the unusual [name_m]Thane[/name_m].
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] - Like, especially with nickname [name_m]Ike[/name_m] (dislike [name_m]Zac[/name_m]).
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] - Cute.
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - Cute, but quite popular. Prefer [name_m]Henry[/name_m] nn [name_m]Harry[/name_m].
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] - Dog name.
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m] - Like, but dislike [name_m]Steve[/name_m].
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m] - Dislike, makes me think of the old kids show Recess.
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u] - Feels invented, although I know it’s not. I don’t like it.
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] - One of the coolest eccentric aristocratic names, [name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] is on my guilty pleasure list.
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] - It’s okay. I don’t really think anything about [name_m]Luke[/name_m], it’s boring to me.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] - Not my style, but it’s okay.
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] - [name_m]Isaac[/name_m]'s growing on me. I like it.
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] - I like it.
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - I think of [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and I like it.
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] - I heard this name for the first time while watching Twilight. I think I’d love [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] much more if I didn’t think about this movie every time I heard it. It’s handsome.
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m] - I prefer it to [name_m]Steven[/name_m], but still don’t like it.
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m] - It’s okay.
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] - I love it, but I prefer [name_m]Alastair[/name_m].
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u] - My first thought was “why don’t you just use [name_u]James[/name_u]?” But I actually think it’s quite cute.
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] - Very cool, classic name - An old favourite of mine.
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_m]Xander[/name_m] - A bit common nowadays, and not really my style. [name_m]Xander[/name_m] is quite cool though.
[name_m]Archer[/name_m] - Not my style either. It seems sort of made-up and uber-masculine.
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] - Quite common, but nice. I like its gentle charm.
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] - Such a cool name! Quite gutsy, but I like it - would you use [name_m]Barney[/name_m]?
[name_m]Paul[/name_m] - This seems like a bit of an ‘old man’ name to me
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] - I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name! It’s so common though
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] - Another nice classic. Quite common in the UK though.
So, my favourites are probably [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Barnaby[/name_m] and [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]. As for your ‘new gems’…
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u] - Not my style at all - It looks misspelled.
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m] - Again, not really my style. It comes across as pompous and eccentric.
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] - I like this name. It’s gentle and calm, yet boyish.
[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] - Quite a hefty name, but cute. I particularly like the nickname of [name_m]Nate[/name_m]
[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] - I like this one too! It’s cool and laid-back, just right for a little boy!
[name_m]Levi[/name_m] - Not my style again. I have an image of a farmer in my head…
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] - I like this one - it’s the cool [name_m]Harry[/name_m], but with a bit of added spunk!
[name_m]Jasper[/name_m] - [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] this name!
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m] - Not my style - sort of a bit like [name_m]Paul[/name_m].
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m] - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this one, it seems a bit like [name_u]Jadon[/name_u] - made up.
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m] - One of my favourite names! A cooler Scottish version of [name_m]Alistair[/name_m].
Of these, I particularly like [name_m]Luke[/name_m], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_m]Jasper[/name_m] and [name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]
OK:
[name_u]Jameson[/name_u]
[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] – [name_f]Love[/name_f] the nn [name_u]Sam[/name_u] though!
[name_m]Alexander[/name_m] nn [name_m]Xander[/name_m]
[name_m]Archer[/name_m]
[name_m]Dominic[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m] – Nice name, but I find it a bit blah of a FN. Nice middle though!
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u] – Unfortunately, it’s gonna get the more popular “[name_u]Jayden[/name_u]” spelling often which is annoying.
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] – I love [name_m]Luka[/name_m]/[name_m]Lukas[/name_m]/[name_u]Luca[/name_u]/[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] though
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Stephen[/name_m] – I prefer Sefan / [name_f]Stephane[/name_f]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
Dislike:
[name_m]Barnaby[/name_m]
[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]
[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]
– All three of these are such way too much for me. I find them pretentious, sorry!
[name_u]Jadon[/name_u]— Although this is more legit than [name_u]Jayden[/name_u], it feels the same to me, sorry.
-[name_m]Balthazar[/name_m]— [name_m]Way[/name_m] too out there for my taste!
-[name_m]Luke[/name_m]- Classic. I’d love to use it for a middle spot.
-[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]-- This feels dated to me,
-[name_m]Isaac[/name_m]-- never really been a fan of [name_m]Isaac[/name_m], but it isn’t a bad name.
-[name_m]Levi[/name_m]-- I know a lot of little Levis, but again, not a bad name.
-[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]-- [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]! It feels preppy and sleek to me.
-[name_m]Jasper[/name_m]-- Really cool. I’d love to meet a little [name_m]Jasper[/name_m].
-[name_m]Stephen[/name_m]-- Feels dated to me.
-[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]-- My nephew due in [name_u]March[/name_u] will be named [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] [name_m]Ryder[/name_m], and I love it! [name_m]Lawson[/name_m] is a family name.
-[name_m]Alasdair[/name_m]-- Again, nms
Since you seem to like biblical names, how about [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (One of my all time favorites that I sadly can’t use), [name_m]Ezekiel[/name_m] ([name_m]Zeke[/name_m]), [name_m]Abram[/name_m] (or just [name_m]Bram[/name_m]), [name_u]Jude[/name_u]/[name_m]Judah[/name_m], or [name_u]Micah[/name_u]?
