New and curious

[name]Hi[/name] I’m new here but I’ve loved looking and learning about names since I can remember. I’m not yet expecting but I finally have a last name and guidelines to go on. I just thought I’d give this a try and see what people think. Last name is [name]Ridge[/name] and for boys the middle name will have to be [name]Jackson[/name], [name]Jack[/name], [name]Jax[/name], etc. for family. I like a wide variety of names and don’t know what my style would be. I also like Italian names like [name]Lorenzo[/name] and [name]Serafina[/name] but neither of us has a background to back that up and I’m not sure if the likely pale red headed child could pull those names off. Anyway just curious so here goes.

[name]Red[/name] hair is my very favourite, and I was SO so excited when my fifth child was born, completely bald but with tell-tale ginger eyebrows! (my [name]Heather[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name] [name]Rose[/name]). So I am excited for you that you are expecting a little pale red-headed child some time in the future.

Because red hair is quite a statement in itself I think an unusual or spirited name is suitable. If you like Italian, what about Fiametta for a girl? (“little flame”)?

Thank you [name]Susan[/name] for suggesting [name]Ailsa[/name]! I have got very positive feedback about my name from fellow Nameberryites.

I’m the oldest of 5 girls and 3 of us have red hair. Unfortunately I’m not one of them. I find red hair now to be such a treasure and always compliment little girls with red hair. I had a great grandpa who had red hair and was born on the 4th of [name]July[/name]. I hear he was quite the firecracker!

I don’t see why [name]Lorenzo[/name] or [name]Serafina[/name] couldn’t work for a child with red hair. In fact I think it would be great.

My sisters with red hair are -

[name]Tamera[/name] - nn [name]Tami[/name]
[name]Ashley[/name]
[name]April[/name]

I really love [name]Daphne[/name] and [name]Veronica[/name] suggested by [name]Susan[/name]!

[name]Frieda[/name]
[name]Ginger[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Hallie[/name]
[name]Ivy[/name]
[name]Julianne[/name] - my daughter had a friend with this name and she has long red hair.
[name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] - just [name]Susan[/name]'s suggested for [name]Margaret[/name] with this as a nn. I like it as a first too.
[name]Piper[/name]
[name]Rhoda[/name] - nn [name]Rhodie[/name]

I really love your name, [name]Ailsa[/name]. And [name]Heather[/name] is so lucky to have ginger hair. When my daughter was born, I thought she might end up with red hair. She had a lot of strawberry blonde hair. But after several months, she became blonde. Now she has light brown hair. But it is a very warm color.

[name]Susan[/name] you’ve listed my top two most favorite boy names ever! The only discussion between the hubs and I is which to use first- [name]Cormac[/name] or [name]Declan[/name]! I never see [name]Cormac[/name] mentioned, so fun to see it here

[name]Love[/name] both [name]Cormac[/name] and [name]Declan[/name] so much. Found out about [name]Cormac[/name] nn [name]Mac[/name] on this site from a former poster named [name]Lola[/name]. I knew a [name]Declan[/name] nn Dec (deck) when we lived in [name]Colorado[/name], but he was from Northern [name]California[/name] and Australia. I also love [name]Corbin[/name], [name]Calvin[/name], and [name]Clayton[/name].
