New Create a Family With a Twist

[name_m]Pierre[/name_m] [name_m]Jacques[/name_m] Boisclair (52) is the father of [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] and another teenager- who also hates him, probably more than [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] does herself. He used to be a nice man, but fame consumed him slowly and he made impulsive decisions. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], who was at one time a bright and resourceful woman, soon after the publication of her second book, spiraled into drugs and drinking and partying and now is suffering from a drinking problem- unfortunately the two of them participated in extreme gambling with the book royalties and were forced back into the middle class, into anonymity. [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] lives in [name_u]Paris[/name_u], but he no longer experiences the glamorous nights out and sips of sparkling champagne, as he’s all burnt out and his fifteen minutes of fame are up, and he now lives in a cheap apartment with mold growing in the walls. He and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] have lost their spark, and she’s decided she no longer respects him as a human being either, and her and her child want out. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and Pierre’s child know [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] exists and desperately wants to meet her as they’ve always wanted an older sister. [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] keeps his family afloat by working as a college professor- in [name_m]History[/name_m] ofc. One time he tried to hit on an attractive young woman studying in his class, and she reported him to the office- [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] was not too happy about that- getting Macinday/Durham but [name_u]French[/name_u] vibes here @CherryBomb50 amirite? Cheaters will be cheaters, and [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] has cheated on the so called love of his life multiple times, but [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is just so burnt out she doesn’t care anymore, not about anything- not even Robespierre. At this point she’s just wasting away as the wife of selfish, narcissistic [name_m]Pierre[/name_m].

Uncensored warning that this character is dead, but is very immoral and his death is not a tragedy. (This is the 7th dead character I’ve created. I’m starting to think I have the most dead characters, or at least the most dead male characters because I know Sophiesawriter has the most dead female characters.)

[name_u]Henri[/name_u] [name_m]Jéan[/name_m] Boisclair (3 [name_u]January[/name_u] 1943 - 3 [name_u]January[/name_u] 2018, aged 75) was Pierre’s equally-incompetent father, although the two were on much more leveled amounts of immorality, with neither having any innocence or redemption. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] lived in [name_f]Canada[/name_f] and had two children, [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] being one of them. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] always seemed to favour [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] due to his constant skill growing up and had no realisation when [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] lost his skill to start doing bad things. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] always acted as if [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] was always skilled and “perfect” and yelled at anyone trying to say otherwise about him. He often compared his two children and [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] was always put in the best light, no matter how high the bias was to put him in that light. He didn’t care for Pierre’s ex-wife and found her “inferior” to [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] but only wished them well on their marriage because [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] insisted she was the one for him. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] knew [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] cheated on her with [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] but he didn’t care and actually felt like she “deserved it” for not being “good enough” for him.

[name_u]Truth[/name_u] is, even before [name_u]Henri[/name_u] became a father, he was immoral. He faked his way into business school and used credentials he didn’t have. He liked scamming people out of money by using fake names to do it. When he knew people would catch on for him using identities that didn’t exist, he’d steal existing identities to commit scams and fraud. He worked at a bank and was cruel to his co-workers, believing he could treat anyone however he wanted and if he felt someone was “inferior” to him (or Pierre) that he’d make sure they knew he felt that from them. He’d modestly deny that he was a biased and prejudiced individual and would always publicly praise them and make it look “obvious that he wasn’t oppressing anyone”. He also tried to get into politics but thankfully did not win any positions after allegations spread he was rigging it. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] gave up on politics, which is something [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] is grateful for, even though she didn’t live in the same country as him. Henri’s other child and family were grateful as well although at this point Henri’s other child stopped contacting him and has since had children who have hardly ever met him in person.

While [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was rich and successful, he had a fatal flaw with his narcissism — literally. He always believed he would live to 100 despite no known ancestors making it to 90. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] had such a mentality that he was special enough to break that mould and be the first in his family, despite not doing any changes to his health. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was used to being the one who always thought he was born superior. He paid attention to nothing about history but always acted like he knew more than [name_f]Liliane[/name_f], who was a history bookworm. He tried to make everyone believe him and some people actually did at first, seeing as [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was much older. However [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] was able to prove otherwise and [name_u]Henri[/name_u] insulted anyone who believed he wasn’t the smartest person in his family. Truthfully Liliane’s mother didn’t like [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and knew he wouldn’t try to improve his relationship with her as he was too set on his opinions to change himself. She only talked to him on the phone when [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] forced her to or when he forced her himself, but she had no plans to visit him in person even before she divorced [name_m]Pierre[/name_m]. In fact while [name_u]Henri[/name_u] wanted to still contact Liliane’s mother, he had completely abandoned [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] as a granddaughter, wanting to have no association with any family members he feared to be “smarter than him” and figured it was best for him to pretend [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] “wasn’t family” to validate his ego. This angered her that [name_u]Henri[/name_u] would abandon his own granddaughter and her own daughter but he didn’t have any remorse. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] had a history of heart problems but never cared enough because he felt like something serious like this could “never happen to him”. He was dead wrong — he died of a heart attack on his 75th birthday. Although he had died on his own birthday, nobody other than [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] considered his death a tragedy and [name_u]Henri[/name_u] didn’t even have a funeral. [name_u]Truth[/name_u] is, it was per his wishes as [name_u]Henri[/name_u] had always said he didn’t want one, likely because he didn’t want any “inferior” people to show up, or worse — because people hated him so much that nobody other than [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] would attend and even with his narcissism, [name_u]Henri[/name_u] knew this. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] gave all his inheritance to [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] only, but in the four years since Henri’s death, it was gambled and drunken away just like Pierre’s fame profits. [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] and her mother hardly speak of [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and they know Henri’s death has made [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] much more negative but deep down, they don’t feel bad for either man. They barely even have memories since he always disassociated with them and any memories they did have were negative. They have since tried to contact Henri’s other child and the children of said “inferior child”, who are Liliane’s cousins. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and Pierre’s child are interested in [name_f]Liliane[/name_f] but while [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was alive, he didn’t want them to associate because [name_u]Henri[/name_u] irrationally hated [name_f]Liliane[/name_f]. However [name_u]Henri[/name_u] is dead and the decision is no longer in his hands.

tw: ableism, child being exposed to adult situations

[name_f]Mirabelle[/name_f] " [name_f]Mira[/name_f] " [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] Boisclair (13) is Henri’s youngest grandchild, the second daughter born to [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] and half-sister of [name_f]Liliane[/name_f]. Growing up with such dysfunctional parents has caused [name_f]Mira[/name_f] to have to mature a little faster than other’s - something that had elements of whiplash to it as her mother would swing from being very overprotective, thanks to Mira’s Spina bifida, but also wrapped up in partying and the new onslaught of emotional tax that came with Pierre’s string of lovers. When there weren’t nanny’s or specialist nurses around to assist her, [name_f]Mira[/name_f] had to keep herself busy, and as much as she’s a bookworm, reading wasn’t a substitute for loneliness. Her parents tended to be so wrapped up in their own social lives that making sure their daughter got to spend time with her school friends was forgotten - something that never made sense to [name_f]Mira[/name_f] with how obviously superficial their social circle was. Most of the kids she met at lavish parties treated her with pity at best or open disdain at worst, looking down on her for being the daughter of ‘new money’ (and that wasn’t counting those who were outright prejudice due to her physical disabilities thanks to her condition).

She often gets the impression her father never really wanted children - he tends to behave like a spoilt teenager at the best of times - and their relationship has always been strained to a degree. When [name_f]Mira[/name_f] finally met someone she liked at one of his parties, another young girl dragged along by aspirational parents, [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] was clearly more interested in pursuing an affair with her mother (a successful orchestra conductor): an absolutely mortifying experience for his daughter, who ended up unable to maintain the friendship due to the shame and guilt she felt whenever they saw one another. In spite of her faults, [name_f]Mira[/name_f] truly loves her mum and seeing her spiral has been a painful experience; especially given how, in spite of her morality being inconsistent where fidelity’s concernee, she was once a bright, optimistic and passionate woman. Her mum did help [name_f]Mira[/name_f] get into playing the violin and flute though, hobbies she’s maintained through financial turbulance - although writing is her absolute dream. While she desperately wants to meet [name_f]Liliane[/name_f], the thought frightens [name_f]Mira[/name_f] to…after all, what if everything collapses under the resentment of the past and she finds her mum going back to her father, when she knows what they need is a proper fresh start.

The plan, haphazard as it is currently, is to go to [name_u]London[/name_u] where her maternal aunt had been living for just over 10 years - somewhere [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] has no ties or friends, and can’t come pestering [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] when he feels a need to leech off her for self-worth. As [name_f]Mira[/name_f] believes nothing means quite as much to her father as his ego.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] Boisclair (50) is the former philosopher and author wife of [name_m]Pierre[/name_m]. She’s also the mother of [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. Contrary to her husband’s crude and violent behaviour, [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is a naturally gentle person and has always tended to [name_f]Mira[/name_f], and trying to make her never feel like a burden. She wants to encourage [name_f]Mira[/name_f] to reach for the stars- though that didn’t go so well for her. Growing up to a rich father, an exhausted mother, and many mistresses, [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] refused to accept her imminent depression and turned to books to relieve her of her sorrows- and soon became enthralled with [name_u]French[/name_u] history. She learned everything she could on it, including Robespierre. And she didn’t have to go to the library, because her father had one built into his mansion- but he believed that books were a waste of time for a man as powerful as him. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] disagreed, and vowed to never marry a man like him- uh, you failed with that one. Sorry, [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], you failed.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] got into the best university possible- not because her parents paid for it, but because she studied hard, and ended up meeting [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] some time later. [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] seemed like a rude jerk and she didn’t want to be involved with him. But, she felt like she didn’t have a choice, and that settled it. She researched with him and put together the book- you know the one partner that doesn’t do any of the work but gets the credit? That is [name_m]Pierre[/name_m]. Amelie’s mother advised her to leave that awful man, but by the time shed already considered it, she was pregnant with [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is currently working at a school as a tutor for exchange students from other French-speaking countries, and everyone at her school admires her for her work…but [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is still torn between leaving [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] and staying for her daughter’s sake.

Frederique " Freddie " Yvonne Labossiere (57) is Amelie 's older sister who lives in London. She knows that her sister is trying her best to be a good mother to Mira and let her reach her dreams despite the limitations that she may have , but she thinks that it’s impossible up until she breaks away from the toxic marriage with Pierre. She knows that the reason Amelie got into the marriage in the first place was because of the toxic patterns they both knew from home - their father, Armand , always showed blatant favouritism towards her for “at least knowing how to use her hands and doing something useful” because Armand disapproved heavily of Amelie 's enchantment with history books and especially with Robespierre - he told her that there was no use trying to understand a man so bloodthristy, hungry for power and arrogant as Maximilien Robespierre, however Freddie now knows that belittling the historical figure was just a way for Armand to project his own bad traits and insecurities onto a man who died over 200 years prior because he just couldn’t bear that his daughter looked up to a man other than himself.

“He at least had principles that he lived by. He never once took a bribe in his entire political career, loved animals and lived a modest life until the very end, starting from the bottom as a humble lawyer. What do you do? You just live in a mansion flaunting wealth and expecting everyone to bow down to you without spending a single second to earn their respect. Yes, I admire him more than I do you, now what?!”

Those were the words Amelie told Armand when he was trying to burn her books about the Revolution in the fireplace and even suceeded with one , which simply sent her into a rage and she also told Freddie how it was partially her fault for Amelie being the black sheep of the family , because Freddie never once stood up for her younger sister and Freddie 's passion for sewing was much more appreciated by the family than hers.

What followed was a long period of no contact between Freddie and Amelie - the latter began studying at the univerisity of Aix-Marseille to move away from Paris and her family, while Freddie went even further to separate herself from the environment and went to study fashion design in Cardiff. She had one love at college - a fellow student of the same univeristy, a very charming Welsh guy - but remembering her father’s behaviour and mistresses along with her mother’s exhaustion she made a vow never to marry. Amelie and Freddie were in their mid-30s when they reconnected so that they could support their mom emotionally and make her aware of Armand’s emotional manipulation.

Freddie briefly envied her sister what seemed like a perfect and glamorous love life and successful, notable career in the field she loved however it quickly became appearent that Amelie 's natural gentle and caring side was wilting in favour of elitism that Pierre inflicted in her. Amelie was dealing with the shallowness of her once modest but much happier life by drinking , which then developed into appearent alcoholism. Her drinking stopped completely when Amelie got pregnant with Mira and stayed at home with her for 3 years, however the publication of her (& theoretically Pierre 's ) second book reignited the Boisclair family’s need to keep up appearances and made Amelie go into relapse. From that point on Freddie became her sister’s (and then niece’s) shoulder to cry on regardless the distance that was between them across the La Manche Channel.

She lives in London working in an atelier there and having a small yet loyal base of customers as a fashion designer. She loves the hustle and bustle of the city, going to museums always reminds her of her sister’s fun facts about history. She also has a French Beaceron named Voltaire who is there to protect her small suburban house from potential intruders. A very sociable and extroverted person, she is part of a London book club where she socialises with women in her age group - one of them, Nerys , is her best friend and has been teaching her Welsh for years while Freddie offered the same kind of help with Nerys ’ French. They have since both reached intermediate level. Nerys is the only one who knows about the troubles of Freddie 's family and the fact that Amelie and Mira want to live with her in London to get away from Pierre so that Amelie can go into rehab and Mira can start forming healthy , functional friendships, escaping from blatant ableism of her father and environment. Freddie also encourages Amelie to connect with Liliane and her mother so that their testimonies can speed up the process of divorce.

[name_m]Armand[/name_m] [name_m]Jacques[/name_m] Labossiere (89) is [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and Freddie’s father, and a very wealthy old man. He was born into generational wealth, and his father was the owner of a large perfume chain- Labossiere Perfumes has moderate success in [name_u]Paris[/name_u] and is not very well known outside [name_u]France[/name_u] and its bordering countries, but he’s still very wealthy due to his father’s work. He expected to have a son with his late wife, and his main desire in life was to have a son to play catch with in their large backyard, and soon to inherit the business. Unfortunately for [name_m]Armand[/name_m], his first daughter was a girl and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] wasn’t too interested in inheriting his legacies. [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] was a very outspoken child and she hated how many bribes her father would take in order to meet ends with his business, and she hated how he used animal testing for his products and then outright lied about it, despite a mountain of evidence against him.

[name_u]Freddie[/name_u] was very disappointing to [name_m]Armand[/name_m]- [name_m]Armand[/name_m] actually did have many sons and daughters with his mistresses, but they refused to fess up about their babies’ paternity, and instead chose to raise them alone- the few women that did request help from [name_m]Armand[/name_m] were turned down. As a result of this cheating, [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and Freddie’s mother went through a deep depression and even considered divorce, but then decided her lavish lifestyle meant too much to her to give up. When she fell pregnant with her second child, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was overjoyed- until it was revealed that [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] was female. Despite Amelie’s tomboyish nature as a child and her willingness to inherit Labossiere Perfumes and change the marketing- and the foundation, her father refused to let a girl take over his empire. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] turned to books out of sadness, and [name_m]Armand[/name_m] wanted her to admire him, despite treating her terribly and dismissing her as a human being, he wanted to control everyone. The second he burned that book, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] burned the relationship between him and his daughter- there was no hope for him anymore. [name_m]Even[/name_m] his wife was disappointed. His young son (born to him and a mistress) offered to help out, but [name_m]Armand[/name_m] refused as “a bastard isn’t fit to run a business.”

Today, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] doesn’t know his granddaughter and he doesn’t even know where [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] lives- he thinks she’s still in [name_u]France[/name_u]. As for [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], he knows all about her and keeps a scrapbook full of newspaper articles and headlines about her book- even pages from her book stuffed between the two covers. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] despises her father, and hopes that the remainder of his life is unhappy- but deep down both his daughters love him and live to make him proud. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] goes to his rich friends and brags about Amelie’s achievements in the literary world, despite proclaiming a hatred for books years ago. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] will never get better- he may even be worse than [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was. He’s currently sick- kidney failure. He hasn’t told his daughters and his wife isn’t a match, so he’s probably going to die soon, though [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] would both donate if he asked, he refuses to ask for any help.

Warning: [name_u]Baby[/name_u] via affair

[name_m]Philippe[/name_m] [name_m]Léandre[/name_m] Boisclair (56) is Pierre’s older brother, Henri’s “inferior” son, and enemies with [name_m]Armand[/name_m]. [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] is a single father of two, and these children are cousins of [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] and [name_f]Mira[/name_f]. [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] and [name_m]Armand[/name_m] became enemies after Philippe’s now ex-wife became a mistress to [name_m]Armand[/name_m] and had an affair through [name_m]Armand[/name_m] and had a son that was not Philippe’s but instead Armand’s. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] himself has denied the paternity but would hint it when he referred to the boy as a “bastard”, meaning this would have had to be a baby out of wedlock, implying it wasn’t Philippe’s as he was married at the time. [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] raised his two children alone while his ex-wife raised her son alone. His children don’t contact their mother because they feel like they are being treated as inferior to her son, (which [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] could not handle seeing as he was always treated as inferior to Pierre) and the two are no longer married.

Being Pierre’s older but lesser-appreciated brother took a toll on [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] and inspired him to be as amazing of a father as he could to his children. Watching them grow up as kind-hearted people was rewarding to him, and while one of them grew up with coordination issues, [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] had high respect seeing as he himself grew up with such and [name_u]Henri[/name_u] found him “lousy” for being such. Of course, this doesn’t mean [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] favours either child, and always makes sure to never leave them out of his life. He loves and accepts their distinct talents and never acts like an authoritarian over them. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] ended up moving to Toronto, [name_f]Canada[/name_f] where he stayed from his retirement to his death. He and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] are also on good terms after [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] and his children moved to the U.K. first living in [name_u]Derby[/name_u] before living in [name_u]London[/name_u]. [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] is also close with Freddie’s Welsh friend [name_f]Nerys[/name_f], often chatting and making each other feel good vibes about themselves, and deep down, [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] is attracted to [name_f]Nerys[/name_f].

[name_f]Nerys[/name_f] [name_f]Catrin[/name_f] [name_m]Powell[/name_m] (56) is [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] 's Welsh friend and the person [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] has a crush on yet she doesn’t realise it - even if she did, she probably wouldn’t agree to dating. [name_f]Every[/name_f] relationship that she had so far had ended because she tended to be a free spirit and a person who’s very focused on being active in her community and the life of a “traditional woman” that her partners usually envisioned wasn’t the best thing for her. As a veteran in the Marketing industry, she spent years creating slogans and campaigns for different products , including [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] 's [name_u]London[/name_u] atelier . The women became friends because of their similliar childfree and marriage-free lifestyles. One thing that gives [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] more joy than her career is promoting her culture and heritage - she has a certificate confirming her ability to teach Welsh and has been doing it with both teens and adults for years. She knows several Welsh folks songs and is a big fan of [name_u]Dylan[/name_u] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] - a poet who was born in the same city as her , Swansea, and had s big influence on the [name_u]Beat[/name_u] Generation of the 60s. [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] is quite the artistic soul and has been writing her own poetry since she was 13 - however , as she says " [name_f]Poetry[/name_f] doesn’t put bread on the table" so instaed of ever publishing her poems she just used whatever writing talent she had for marketing purposes. She is grateful to [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] for teaching her [name_u]French[/name_u] - and although some people speculate that she’s only learning it to be able to understand [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] flirting with her, the truth is that her goal is to read [name_u]French[/name_u] poetry and philosophers - especially her all-time favourite feminist thinker, [name_u]Simone[/name_u] de Beauvoir.

Quite the glamourous lady . she does everything she can to support her pupils whom she teaches Welsh as well as her friends. She is currently helping [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] rearrange her residence in [name_u]London[/name_u] to be more accessible to [name_f]Mira[/name_f] 's needs as a disabled person. People around [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] know that [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] is one of the biggest influences on her life and so whenever someone wants to get to [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] they tend to contact [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] first , given that [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] is quite stubborn and doesn’t take advice from anyone else that easily. This paradigm recently resulted in two people contacting [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] - [name_m]Armand[/name_m] 's maid, who at his direct request informed [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] that [name_m]Armand[/name_m] is dying of kidney failure and begging for forgivness from his daughter before it’s too late to meet for the last time. And then there is a fellow Welshman - the man that [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] dated in Cardiff back in her university years and who has very much realised that te old flame of his and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] 's love is not quite extinguished within his heart yet. [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] actually doesn’t know what to do in this sitution and is sure that both people are going to make [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] 's life messier than it already is.

[name_u]Simone[/name_u] [name_f]Wildrose[/name_f] Ouattra (23) is one of Armand’s maids and the woman who contacted [name_f]Nerys[/name_f] out of desperation, to save [name_m]Armand[/name_m] possibly. She knows all the things he did, and she’s become him primary companion- she requested that he stopped paying her but he refused. At first she found him to be cranky and quite disgusting, as he tried hitting on her, but unlike some other maids her age she immediately turned him down and even insulted him, calling him a lowly predator. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was impressed, and soon the rivalry blossomed into an awkward friendship, and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] began to see where [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was coming from- after all, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was a lonely old man and all he wanted was another chance with his daughters but he didn’t want to disturb them. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] was desperate for money- a native Ivorian, [name_u]Simone[/name_u] came to [name_u]France[/name_u] to study for her doctorate, and her main goal in life is to dig her parents out of poverty. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] has always been very gifted, and she knew she should use her smarts for something good. She’s the oldest of a large brood, and her siblings all look up to her and adore her. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was surprised when [name_u]Simone[/name_u] opened up to him about her background, and he then in turn told her some things about the late Mr. Labossiere- he was a great businessman and [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was his only son within wedlock. Armand’s mother and sisters are still alive but Armand’s mother is almost dead and his sisters hate him because he reminds them of their awful father.

[name_u]Simone[/name_u] felt awful for [name_m]Armand[/name_m]- her academic passion and warm, naturally gentle nature began to remind [name_m]Armand[/name_m] of his own daughter [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and he soon realized how disgusting his own behavior was and apologized to [name_u]Simone[/name_u], and is trying to be more of a formal boss and not a womanizing jerk, and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] is very grateful for that part of him that’s human. She deserves everyone believes a second chance and that’s why she reached out to [name_f]Nerys[/name_f]- [name_u]Simone[/name_u] would have donated her own kidney but she’s not a match, unfortunately. [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] and [name_u]Freddie[/name_u] still see their father as a controlling and manipulative man, but [name_m]Armand[/name_m] has evolved in his time with [name_u]Simone[/name_u]- he has even learned some things about Robespierre and thinks he’s an interesting man, and he can see why [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] was so fascinated with him. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] has changed [name_m]Armand[/name_m] for the better, but her partner is a bit suspicious of this relationship- after all, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] did try to hit on her. [name_u]Simone[/name_u] has assured her partner there’s nothing to worry about, and things are clearing up.

Warning: Injuries from a car crash.

[name_u]Clyde[/name_u] [name_u]André[/name_u] Boisclair (25) is the son and younger child of [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] and good friend of [name_u]Simone[/name_u]. He is the cousin of [name_f]Lilou[/name_f] and [name_f]Mira[/name_f] and grandson of the late [name_u]Henri[/name_u]. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] goes between countries: living in the U.K. with his father but also living in [name_u]France[/name_u] sometimes because despite his family drama, he truly loves his [name_u]French[/name_u] culture and wouldn’t give it up no matter what. He was only an infant when his mother, one of the older former mistresses of [name_m]Armand[/name_m] and thinks negatively about the old man given his mother’s affair with him and how it hurt his father. He also feels that [name_m]Armand[/name_m] reminded him too much of [name_u]Henri[/name_u]. However he gives [name_m]Armand[/name_m] credit that he’s trying to look after his health unlike [name_u]Henri[/name_u] who basically believed he was immortal. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] genuinely wanted to help [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and did look out for his health, but [name_u]Henri[/name_u] shut him out because he always acted like he knew better than anyone else. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] knows that the affair his mother had was a long time ago and [name_m]Armand[/name_m] was never personally rude to [name_u]Clyde[/name_u], unlike [name_u]Henri[/name_u] who hated [name_u]Clyde[/name_u]. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] was in a serious but not fatal car accident, when another car abruptly swerved into his, a few months before [name_u]Henri[/name_u] died of a heart attack. He had suffered internal injuries and managed to survive, but not without also leaving a bad gash on his face that would eventually leave a scar. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] refused to visit [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] in the hospital, assuming [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] was at fault for the crash although police reports proved he was not. When [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] was released from the hospital, [name_u]Henri[/name_u] still refused to see him and believed he was “worthless” with that scar on his face and would never have a full-time career or find love with it. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] gave [name_u]Henri[/name_u] the benefit of the doubt seeing that his scar was still stitched up and looked much scarier but offered to call him on the phone, which [name_u]Henri[/name_u] refused. What [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] truly hated was that [name_u]Henri[/name_u] was a hypocrite: he acted as if [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] got into the crash and was injured because he was unable to care for himself properly, yet [name_u]Henri[/name_u] never cared about his health because he thought he had a certain “immunity” he never had.

[name_u]Clyde[/name_u] and [name_u]Simone[/name_u] are often seen as an odd friendship since [name_u]Simone[/name_u] was very close with the man who broke up [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] and his wife, but their friendship is solid. Both of them have a high respect for [name_m]Maximilien[/name_m] Robespierre, and [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] loves talking about him with his cousins. The two friends have a very sympathetic side to people who are considered unlikable. While [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] didn’t like [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and never referred to his death as “tragic”, he never wanted [name_u]Henri[/name_u] to die and wished [name_u]Henri[/name_u] had just listened when he told him to look out for his health for once. He believes [name_m]Armand[/name_m] can be saved however [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] is unable to donate a kidney due to having injured his own kidneys in the car accident. He survived and doesn’t suffer from failure, but it came at the cost of [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] having a kidney removed, making him ineligible to donate what is now his sole kidney. However, having almost suffered what [name_m]Armand[/name_m] suffers, this gives [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] another reason to sympathise with him and he respects [name_m]Armand[/name_m] for “hanging in there”. [name_m]Armand[/name_m] has been somewhat nicer to [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] but unfortunately that’s an accident — he thought [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] was Simone’s partner and tried to be nice to him so [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] wouldn’t be angry at [name_m]Armand[/name_m] for previously hitting on his “girlfriend”. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] has cleared this up by saying he is not Simone’s partner but that [name_u]Simone[/name_u] does have a partner and isn’t single. [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] isn’t necessarily single but also not necessarily taken. He works for a relationship counsel hotline, where people call with their confidential information and try to get advice. It is a 24hr hotline so whether [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] is in the U.K. or [name_u]France[/name_u] doesn’t matter, since he will always get a shift that works with the time zone he’s in. He’s talked to another mistress of [name_m]Armand[/name_m] who called to say she’s been a mistress of [name_m]Armand[/name_m] and knows he’s changing as a person but needs advice on how to stop being his mistress. This is the only time [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] has ever opened up about who he is and how he knows [name_m]Armand[/name_m], but didn’t name any other names of people in his life, nor did he tell anyone she said this, as the hotline is required to be confidential. Secretly, she’s falling for [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] and [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] is mutually attracted to her, but he stays focused on his work and gave her his phone number outside of work, claiming it would help separate work conversations from off-topic conversations. She and [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] have had some sweet phone conversations on Clyde’s regular phone number and she seems to want to meet him in person. However he’s shy and deep down, he knows the women [name_m]Armand[/name_m] has as mistresses are very gorgeous woman and he’s afraid she won’t accept him as soon as she sees the scar on his face. Still, he likes her and doesn’t want to lose her. In the meantime, he’s always there for [name_u]Simone[/name_u] and supports her partner as well, helping them maintain a good and healthy relationship despite Armand’s somewhat-reformed problematic ways.

[name_f]Régine[/name_f] [name_f]Henriette[/name_f] Tremblay (54) is [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] 's and his older sibling’s mother and [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] 's ex-wife as well as the mother of [name_m]Armand[/name_m] 's illegitimate son and a former mistress of [name_m]Armand[/name_m]. She is all about living the high life and drinking wine while networking with the wealthy of the community. She only married [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] because [name_u]Henri[/name_u] Boisclair made her believe like his family was close to the elites which at the time it absolutely wasn’t. That’s why when [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] Boisclair , [name_u]Henri[/name_u] 's older son , got a PhD and then began working as a reasercher specialising in [name_u]French[/name_u] [name_m]History[/name_m] , [name_u]Henri[/name_u] started to prioritize him as a son because unlike [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] , [name_m]Pierre[/name_m] actually elevated the status of the family by becoming part of the academic elites , especially after the publication of his book with [name_f]Amelie[/name_f].

[name_f]Régine[/name_f] was never an attentive mother and only cared about the image of her family rather than it actually being loving and functional. She made most of the financial decisions and was also the provider of the family by working as a flight attendant. This let to her frequently travelling from [name_f]Canada[/name_f] to [name_u]France[/name_u] for work and also led [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] to essentially become a single father to [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] and his older child even before the couple divorced. [name_f]Régine[/name_f] 's most beloved hobby was buying expensive perfume and one time she decided to pretend like she’s flying to [name_u]Paris[/name_u] for work while in reality she flew there as a tourist to buy perfume from obscure brands only known in [name_u]France[/name_u]. As she confessed to her equally snobby Canadian friend “She was sick of the cheap duty-free garbage at the airpoirt”. This is how she stumbled upon the brand Labossiere Perfumes and became enchanted enough with one of the fragrances that she wrote to the CEO of the company by singing praises to the coffee-like , heavy but sweet fragrance with a touch of musk and lemon grass. Then , she made an offer - she would contact her airlines in order for Labossiere Perfumes to sign an exclusive contract with the airline and sell the perfume in business class of their plane, as long as she gets 5% of the profits. It sounded like a deal both to the airline and to the new CEO at the time, [name_m]Armand[/name_m] Labosierre, who arranged a meeting with the enterprenurial spirit.

Quickly, he and [name_f]Régine[/name_f] began being romantically involved and [name_f]Régine[/name_f] became pregnant with [name_m]Armand[/name_m] 's son out of wedlock. She wanted to commit paternity fraud but knew that [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] would have no reason to believe that the child was his because they were rarely close together after the birth of their children who were both close in age.

Ironically , the person who was in favour of the paternity fraud plan was her father-in-law - [name_u]Henri[/name_u] , for whom [name_f]Régine[/name_f] was the perfect daughter-in-law due to also having the philosophy that life is about showing everyone that you’re the best and never admitting that you were in the wrong because it’s a sign of weakness. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and [name_f]Régine[/name_f] liked eachother , however [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] felt that the betrayal was too much and divorced her anyway which was the first time he openly said no to the influence of [name_u]Henri[/name_u] and moved with young [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] and the other child to the UK. Meanwhile [name_f]Régine[/name_f] gave birth to Armand’s son and proceeded to travel to [name_u]France[/name_u] regularly to convince him that her son should be heir to the Labossiere fortune. She now intensified her level pf trying after finding out that [name_m]Armand[/name_m] 's wife is dead. She has hopes that she can marry [name_m]Armand[/name_m] , secure the inheritance for her illegitimate son and of course - live off of [name_m]Armand[/name_m] 's fortune after he dies of kidney failure. She is venomous towards [name_u]Simone[/name_u] , who knows how calculated [name_f]Régine[/name_f] truly is - but also [name_u]Simone[/name_u] recognises that that it’s her twisted way of showing love towards her son , a feeling she never developed for [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] or his sibling because she was never close to them due to travelling for work. She is ignorant of the fact that [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] is dating one of Armand’s more recent former mistresses - she would have been equally venomous to her if she had known , but fortunately she is ignorant of [name_u]Clyde[/name_u] 's or her older child’s life because she doesn’t care about them or [name_m]Philippe[/name_m] in the slightest.

mw: depression

Vincent " Vince " Emile Tremblay (27) is Régine’s son with Armand and the older half-brother of Clyde. Life has always proven to be difficult for Vince: his identity’s tied to two dubious people, who’ve caused a great deal of emotional damage, while showing little remorss and merely trying to ignore the past (in the case of Armand especially). Régine always pressured him to initiate contact, beginning her ploy when he was only ten years old and still eager to win her approval - as she typically treated love as something to be earned by her children instead of freely given - but this would only end in rejection, due to his father’s bizarre obsession with legitimacy (arguably tied to wanting to keep his dirty laundry in the rumour mill, opposed to airing it out). Family has subsequently become painful for Vincent, who chooses to separate himself from most of his biological relatives, although Clyde is someone he loves dearly and regularly tries to see; which can be a little tricky, as Vince lives and works in Bournemouth, where he’s settled and travels to France at random intervals - typically when he knows his mother’s on another one of her trips, scheming no doubt.

Inheritance means absolutely nothing to Vince now. He spent years trying to fit the mold of his father, one his mother insisted on for him, but found absolutely no joy in business or the chemistry side of the perfume industry; dropping out of university less than a year in thanks to how suffocating he found the charade (much to the ire of Régine, who thought she’d finally found the perfect ploy to collect his inheritance). Instead, he ended up training as a carpenter, and works primarily in restoration - which Régine thinks is respectable enough for Armand - while doing side and commission projects to keep his finances comfortable. Even if his father took interest in Vince for managing to settle and find success independently of his heritage, he doesn’t want to try and forge a deeper connection. He empathises with Armand’s condition and illness, believing he should access help (if only to make amends with Amelie and Freddie, as well as meet his granddaughter), but the way his father spoke of him causes Vince to not really want to spend much time in his company, unless asked. The relationship between Clyde and his father’s former mistress also makes him somewhat wary, as he doesn’t want to see his brother dragged into the web his mother resides in; never mind the fact it involves the father who made him feel worthless and dejected.

At 20, Vince was diagnosed with depression, following leaving university in the South of France hastily. This came several years late though, as symptoms of his mental state could be noticed when he was in his mid-teens; especially his emotional exhaustion and low self-worth, often making depreciating jokes that fell into being especially harsh about himself. His parents don’t know this - as Vince cannot imagine what else Armand would think about ‘a bastard with mental health problems’, whereas Régine would see it as a point to be used in her sympathy game - but his loved one’s do, including the large friend group he’s amassed over time. This includes people he met while travelling with his mum years ago, to fellow uni dropouts, to people he met after settling down in Bournemouth and getting into the live music scene - stemming from his interest in sound mixing and experimenting with decks (which Vince still does from time-to-time). However the person who knows him best is his partner - who he met through a custom piece for the school they work at - and he feels blessed to have them in his life, as they’re always a listening ear and source of empathy: something Vince grew up entirely lacking.

maturity warning: character is the product of an affair
trigger warning: homophobia

Jacinthe Dominique [Reaux] Reaux-Quenneville (61) is one of Armand’s half-siblings and the aunt of Vince, who only recently got in contact with him after some deliberations. Like his son, Mr. Laboissiere had no qualms about conducting affairs, and Jacinthe was a product of one of these, having an animosity towards her brother like the rest of her late father’s daughters possess. For Jacinthe, it’s a little different though. Her dislike towards Armand stems from how she felt he repeated the cruelties of their father: dismissing his female children because of the obsession with a male heir, and placing such a value on legitimacy, when - as far as Jacinthe’s concerned - all children should be valued equally, regardless of their parents marital status.

Another reason Jacinthe was rejected by her father was her coming out as gay when she was in her early-20s, something that caused him to publically disown her - following a slew of disgusting vitriol directed at her and her mother (who apparently was to blame for not ‘teaching’ her daughter - more than a little hypocritical giving Jacinthe’s father only saw her 4 times in her life before this). She met her wife a few years before she turned 30 and they lived as partners until applying for a civil partnership, but they use the term ‘wife’ for one another and it’s how their friends refer to them. They’re situated in Boulogne-sur-Mer and adopted two children together: their eldest, who’s non-binary, and their younger son. Recently, Jacinthe welcomed her first grandchild: something she was ecstatic about and frequently offers to babysit as she adores her granddaughter (and is pleased her eldest wants to have a big family).

Jacinthe is close with one of her half-sisters, who currently lives in Canada, who she got into contact with after the older woman also came out as queer (and faced the wrath of their awful father). They would like to see the family be able to come together in some manner, but this will be difficult due to the bad blood and complexities, so for now they’re focusing on just getting by as a smaller unit - with hopes on hosting a reunion at Jacinthe’s home, where Vince and his partner will be welcome too.

Jolie Lucienne [Quenneville] Reaux-Quenneville [61] is Jacinthe’s wife. She was born in Tahiti and moved to mainland France when she was 10. She’s the maternal aunt of Yves, Gabriel, and their younger 13-year-old sister but isn’t close with their parents because they are too strict on them. Jolie’s sister is younger than her but she always had a tyrannical approach. About the subject of Armand, none of the Roux siblings have met him personally but Yves himself has snarked, “I’m so forever alone that a misogynist elderly dude who can’t get a damn kidney has a love life and I don’t.” Although Gabriel knows Yves is always snarky, he’s still seen the issue more respectfully to both sides but can’t get past Armand’s prejudice on illegitimate children, seeing that Gabriel is a teen father-to-be and isn’t married. Both of them want to see Armand change for the better. Jolie can’t help but like that their last name is Roux, which is similar to her wife’s maiden name Reaux. She’s about to have a great-nephew and great-niece when Gabriel and Mabel have their boy/girl twins. She was surprised that Gabriel is having children as a teenager but never judged him. Some toxic people who know Armand judge Jolie and Gabriel for this, but she always defends him because she knows Gabriel is incredibly selfless. The Roux siblings don’t know about this since they live so far away but once they heard their own strict mother, Jolie’s sister, badmouthing and using the excuse, “Unlike my own younger son, I follow my gut instinct,” in which Yves said, “Don’t follow your gut instinct, it’s literally full of crap.”

Jolie is wise and loves her family, not being close with her sister at all but would invite her nephews and niece if they ever had the reunion Jacinthe had planned. Still, she supports Jacinthe’s new bond with her Canadian half-sister and appreciates her as a fellow queer woman. Jolie hasn’t personally seen her that much and when she does, she’s with Jacinthe, but she loves her strong and warm personality. She and Jacinthe feel Boulogne-sur-Mer is a great place to raise their children. Jolie used to work in a university in Paris but left after not feeling a good vibe from the other professors, particularly Pierre. She now works in a better workplace environment in Boulogne-sur-Mer and is a geography professor. She and Jacinthe are happy their adoptive children are intelligent and and kind people and are more than welcome to meet their new granddaughter.

Yves was created by me.

Gabriel and Mabel were created by @wandering_willow.

[name_f]Viviane[/name_f] [name_u]Lennox[/name_u] Reaux-Quenneville (23) is the child of [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] and [name_f]Jacinthe[/name_f]. Their life is very happy- they live with their partners and their one daughter- though they’re planning to add more to their family. They love their sweet little brother and hope they don’t drift apart ever- their brother really enjoys being an uncle to a baby girl and often volunteers to babysit. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] gave birth to their baby, and Viviane’s daughter has proclaimed [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] is her favorite parent, much to the chagrin of her other parents. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] wasn’t always as happy as they are now- they were born on a farm in southern [name_u]France[/name_u], in a big family. Their mother was a housewife, and their father was an agricultural worker who was awfully disrespectful towards his workers- and his children. When [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] was only seven, he hanged himself as he was drowning in debt and saw it as the only way out, and their mother was left penniless. She was then forced to give up all of her children one by one despite trying to scrape up all the money she could. She decided her children would have a better life elsewhere though she truly meant well- she left [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] on the streets with their youngest brother, who was born with a debilitating birth defect. Despite their young age at the time [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] proved to be an exceptional caretaker- until the [name_u]French[/name_u] officials took them in with their brother and placed them into the foster care system. Their counselor was a mean and deceptive woman who placed them into the care of a widowed old woman, who’d beat [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] when they refused to do work, and even pressed a hot iron onto their face as a cruel form of punishment. When [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] transferred foster homes they were very happy. It took a while for them to actually trust [name_f]Jacinthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Jolie[/name_f], though they came to love the two women with all of their heart and consider them as mothers. Viviane’s little brother instantly loved his mothers and connected with them. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] was left with scars after staying with their old foster mother and would often wear long sleeved shirts up until high school- they transitioned sophomore year, and [name_f]Jacinthe[/name_f] and [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] were very accepting of her. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] has since decided to embrace their scars- though life has been very tough for them and all of their partners are worried about them. Their polycule is very worried about their mental health and is willing to do anything to help them, as are their two mothers and their wonderful younger brother- who has just turned 10 and gotten the help that he needs with his condition. [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] is glad that they have gotten through all of this and are now with the people who love them most, and they feel they’re exactly where they’re meant to be despite the struggles.

Initially, [name_u]Max[/name_u] was just a mutual friend of the polycule before they all confessed to her— which led [name_u]Max[/name_u] to have a teary-eyed realisation that they were allowed to love multiple people at once. [name_u]Max[/name_u] is the disowned daughter of a pastor and his wife, who decided that [name_u]Max[/name_u] was no longer their daughter once she came out as bisexual. She was kicked out at 16, forced to live on the streets whilst going to school at the same time. Because she wasn’t able to go to college, [name_u]Max[/name_u] became a tattoo artist’s apprentice instead. She quickly excelled and has become an underground name around her community.

Despite Max’s harsh introduction into the real world and a strong dislike for her father’s misuse of religion, being raised in that sort of environment has given her struggles of internalised homophobia. Sometimes she struggles with the idea that she’s allowed to love who she wants to love, and [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] and the rest of her partners are all there to support her. [name_u]Max[/name_u] isn’t the best with children, but she likes that Viviane’s daughter calls her “Auntie Max”.

Having been born and raised in [name_m]Quebec[/name_m], [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] came to [name_u]France[/name_u] to visit their sibling after ultimately realising they weren’t going to go to university, and wanted to start afresh while not completely disconnected from their family. Knowing what [name_u]Max[/name_u] and [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] went through makes [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] even more appreciative of their own parents: who are nothing but kind, loving and supportive people who consider the partners of their children no different than extended blood relatives. After working some menial jobs to pay rent, [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] ended up involved in gallery work - purely accidental after their sibling recommended this to them - and now is involved in an exhibition network that specialises in pop-up events for small artists; being in charge of the social media management to garner interest and spread awareness of upcoming displays. They love their job as it compliments Dulcie’s interest in people perfectly, helped by the fact they’ve got a catalogue of random trivia perfect for any conversation.

Children are also something they handle well, especially their niece, although they can’t babysit as much due to working unpredictable hours and also living with three other friends who tend to like some peace and quiet (not exactly unanimous with children). [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] knows they want to become a parent themselves some day but not immediately, as they’d like to travel some more and also ideally find a partner with a schedule that compliments their own - as companionship is absolutely something they love, be it familial (how they count their pet gecko, [name_u]Virgil[/name_u], and no-one can tell them otherwise), platonic or romantic. For how much they love meeting people, dating terrifies [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] - who feels very inexperienced when it comes to romance - and they tend to ask their sibling or [name_u]Max[/name_u] for advice, especially now there’s suspicions one of their art contacts has plans on asking them out.

Working as a model and co-owning a zine printing business, Ferro’s genderfluid and uses they/he pronouns interchangeably, having moved to [name_u]France[/name_u] because their best friend - and business partner - wanted to move to where he grew up to be closer to his stepfather, who’s currently undergoing chemotherapy.

Being bilingual, it only took Ferro two months to make their mind up about making the step to reunite with him - as the zine printing was easier when they were both in the same studio - even if saying goodbye to their beloved parents was a big step. They’re in constant contact with them and [name_f]Christine[/name_f] though, with Ferro and [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] being the only people to refer to her by the nickname ‘Chris’ [one coined when they were very small, and it’s never gone away for them at least].

Currently, Ferro and [name_f]Dulcie[/name_f] are planning a trip to visit their family back in [name_m]Quebec[/name_m], as they want to spend more time with Christine’s young family, and Ferro would like their 8-month-old to finally meet her grandparents, who she’s heard so much about and vidchatted with, but never met. They have some of Dulcie’s social inclinations too, but are nowhere as at ease as them, and the two have a joke about Ferro needing lessons from their sibling. Given Max’s career as a tattooist, Ferro is also currently working on a zine collaboration with her that’s bought them even closer together, as they do sometimes worry about her feeling left out as the newest member; but don’t want to set any expectations up either, and make her feel pressured into taking big steps.

[name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f] [name_u]Griffin[/name_u] (23) is one of the other polycule members. Bun uses she/bun in everyday conversation, and while bun’s parents were similar to Max’s in that they thought bun was delusional, and dismissed bun’s feelings, [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] is trying to push through bun’s trauma and forget it ever happened to bun, as bun is worried that bun will destroy the polycule’s dynamic. [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] acts as the therapist friend and mom friend both in bun’s friend group and polycule. Bun often listens to the others vent about their traumatic experiences, and while bun has no problem with that bun wishes others would listen to bun more. As mentioned earlier, [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] and [name_u]Max[/name_u] have very similar backgrounds though Ferelith’s parents were not as hyper religious as Max’s own. [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] was born in [name_m]Limerick[/name_m], [name_u]Ireland[/name_u], and bun’s family moved to [name_u]France[/name_u] when bun was younger as bun’s father worked as a salesman, which required him to transfer locations. Bun’s parents were very xenophobic and when [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] came out as xenogender at the age of 10, bun’s parents shunned bun and considered bun to not be their daughter anymore, which severely hurt bun. All of that ended when [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] met [name_f]Viviane[/name_f] in college- the two started out as friends, which blossomed into a full blown relationship. The two met another polycule member and both simultaneously developed a crush on this person, and then later decided to date them…bun didn’t meet Ferro until college age, and the two are very close and often joke about having similar names. [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] and [name_u]Max[/name_u] often spend time together as [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] was the first one to meet [name_u]Max[/name_u], and suggested introducing her to their polycule. [name_f]Ferelith[/name_f] loves bun’s daughter and fully considers bunself to be a mother.
