I just stumbled across the name Brinstan and I love it. I have been advocating Brin for boys for some time but Brinstan sounds more masculine. I also get Tristan/Brandon vibes which I really like, as I love Brandon but can’t use it and Tristan is one I almost love but can never really get there. Brinstan is really lovely though! What do you think? What middles would go?
It’s intriguing! I think it could really have some potential with all the -n ending names in the popularity lists. I personally prefer just Bryn/Brin but [name_m]Brinstan[/name_m] has a grounded, handsome vibe.

I have encountered Brinston, this spelling, as a surname out in the world. I like it well enough - like [name_m]Winston[/name_m] but starting with “Br”. I think it would translate pretty well to being a first name and [name_u]Brin[/name_u] is a perfectly usable nickname for it.
Reminds me of Branston pickle so I’m not a huge fan, sorry! Some middles though…

I’ve never heard of a Branston pickle
[name_m]Brinstan[/name_m] is really interesting. I think it could grow on me
Brinston [name_m]Julius[/name_m] is also really lovely, thank you!
I know, right? Its intriguing. Im not sure where it will land with my husband but adding it to my list.
I actually really like it! It may just end up on my list
I found it on nameberry
I don’t care for it myself, but I do love [name_m]Dunstan[/name_m].
Agree with @tfzolghadr
Sounds made up, or overly fad, like Jaxson vs Jackson etc.
Prefer Winston or Brighton or Preston
Cobgrats on finding a name that you like, though! Very exciting!
Its just one to potentially add to my list. But I’m saying I found it on nameberry so I definitely didn’t make it up. You should be able to click on it: [name_m]Brinstan[/name_m].
It does sound similar to lots of other names, [name_m]Winston[/name_m], [name_m]Brandon[/name_m], [name_u]Tristan[/name_u], [name_u]Brighton[/name_u]. I think that gives it some appeal really. Im surprised it’s so unknown but it says its an Old [name_f]English[/name_f] surname.
It simply peaked my curiosity so I was just doing a temperature check and curious what middles go. It seems like a name people either love or hate but I really don’t think its that out there. Nice to hear a name once in awhile that you haven’t heard of before!
Bringing out the old [name_f]English[/name_f] -Stan ending names I’d also like to suggest Wulfstan
I agree!! I think a lot of “trendy” names start with B in particular! The -stan ending also throws me a little as in the US, its usually -on or -in
But it was nice to discover something new that males [name_u]Brin[/name_u] more masculine if that makes sense, since its gone to the girls in the US. I actually really like it!
