New find...thoughts?

Recently I came across the name Estacia and I’m kind of digging it. I haven’t been able to find much info on the name but what I did find said that it’s the Spanish form of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] and can be pronounced eh-sta-see-uh or eh-stay-sha. I love the nickname [name_f]Essie[/name_f] but hadn’t found a full name that I liked for it and I think this might be it.

So what are everyone’s thoughts, opinions and general feelings about Estacia?

I quite like it, actually (eh-sta-see-uh)! And the nickname [name_f]Essie[/name_f] is adorable.

I would think it’s pronounced eh-stah-see-ah. I love the nn [name_f]Essie[/name_f] too. I think it’s really lovely. My only hold up is that when I saw it, I thought of Ecstacy, which is a pretty loaded word. I don’t think this is something most people would think, so I don’t think it’s a deal breaker.

My first thought was that it reminded me of both estatic and ecstacy, also [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]/[name_f]Anastacia[/name_f].
I think [name_f]Essie[/name_f] is wonderful, however, I don’t think I really like Estacia.

I like the Spanish pronunciation, but don’t care for eh-stay-sha. [name_f]Essie[/name_f] is cute though!

I’m not so sure about Estacia being a Spanish form of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]. As for as I know, the Spanish form of [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] is…[name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]. Maybe [name_u]Stacy[/name_u], though. The Spanish form of [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] is [name_m]Esteban[/name_m], so Estacia for [name_u]Stacy[/name_u] would make sense. It could also be a variation of [name_f]Eustacia[/name_f].

In any case, I think Estacia is a nice name, although not my personal style.

It reminds me of ecstacy so no.

my first thought was also that it reminded me of ecstacy, which could have a few associations you don’t want!

I love [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] and all its variations (recently I found [name_f]Natasa[/name_f]) and I love Estacia too! It’s very elegant, sophisticated, classy and easy to pronounce.

I really like the name, but I have 2 small worries about the name.

1 is that you’ll probably always be correcting people’s pronunciation of it if they are reading it - like school teachers on the first day of school.

And 2 is that you’ll ALWAYS have to spell it when making appointments and such.

Oh, and I just thought of number 3. You’ll never find a name tag or personalized item with their name on it

It’s pretty! It’s a little to frilly for my taste, but it’s lovely.

Interesting, it seems people either like it or it reminds them of ecstasy. LOL. Thank you for all the feedback!
