New here & need help!

I’m so glad I found this forum. I was on another one but people there were very harsh. [name_m]Just[/name_m] by reading some of the threads here everone seems nice!

Anyway. I’m expecting my third and it’s a boy.

I have two other sons

[name_m]Kellan[/name_m] [name_m]Cabot[/name_m] he is 12 and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] who is 9
(Yes, this baby was unexpected but not unwanted!!)

Here is what we have so far BTW our last name is more commnon as a first name

[name_u]Daron[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

[name_f]Ashlan[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

My husband likes [name_f]Aydon[/name_f] this is not made up. It’s also the name of a castle in [name_f]England[/name_f] my DH is obsessed with! lol

or any other suggestions would be wonderful!!

Thanks,
[name_u]Gael[/name_u]

Great names! I do like [name_f]Aydon[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], but everyone will think it’s another creative spelling of an overly popular name. Hmmm…[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would be cute w/the boys’ names. Or [name_m]Liam[/name_m], [name_m]Declan[/name_m], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], and this one might be a bit far-fetched, but I’m loving Somerset lately (and it has both literary and geographical cred).

Great names in your family so far!
In my opinion [name_f]Ashlan[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]/[name_f]Ashlin[/name_f] so it sounds very feminine to me. Would you consider [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] or [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]? I absolutely love [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. [name_f]Aydon[/name_f] is a good choice as well.
[name_u]Daron[/name_u] sounds like [name_u]Darren[/name_u]. Personally I like the sound of the name but I am not a fan of “creative spellings”.
I noticed all the names you like end in N so here are a few ideas:
[name_m]Benson[/name_m]
[name_m]Harrison[/name_m]
[name_m]Judson[/name_m]
[name_m]Austin[/name_m]
[name_m]Damian[/name_m]
[name_u]Emerson[/name_u]
[name_m]Layton[/name_m]

Bit of an odd castle to choose! Why the obsession? Also, I can’t find any evidence that - other than the English place - it’s not just a trendy spelling of Aidan.

I like [name_f]Aydon[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] a lot! But [name_u]Aiden[/name_u]/kaden and it’s various spellings are super popular, so it just depends on how much you care about your child having a more unique name from his classmates. Which might not matter at all to you, but just pointing out that type of name has skyrocketed recently.

I like [name_f]Ashlan[/name_f] but it sounds so much to be like Aslan from [name_f]Narnia[/name_f], but that’s just me! I do second the [name_m]Asher[/name_m] suggestion, though.

Here are some other suggestions to consider:

[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] (seems like you have some gaelic names with the other boys?)
[name_u]Hudson[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_m]Killian[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]
[name_u]Keegan[/name_u]/[name_u]Keagan[/name_u] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]

Oh, also [name_m]Cael[/name_m] is another great gaelic rooted name!!

Thank you for the suggestion. We really want to stay clear of Biblical names.
[name_u]Daron[/name_u] is the Gaelic spelling. Not made up at all.

I do like the name [name_m]Asher[/name_m] but again it’s Biblical so it would be out.

I know mant names that end in en have skyrocketed in the past few years [name_u]Jaden[/name_u] being the most popular lol

A few non en names we considered are:

[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
[name_u]Reid[/name_u]
I also like [name_u]Owen[/name_u] and [name_m]Liam[/name_m] but I think both are waaay overused.

I really don’t like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] for a boy, and its very boring and tame in comparison to [name_m]Cabot[/name_m] and [name_m]Merrick[/name_m].

[name_f]Ashlan[/name_f] [name_u]Reid[/name_u] is really cool! Kell, [name_u]Finn[/name_u], and [name_u]Ash[/name_u] would be lovely sibling names; they just make sense and compliment each other the best!

With [name_m]Kellan[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u], I like:

[name_m]Cormac[/name_m] ([name_m]Cormac[/name_m] [name_u]McCarthy[/name_u] is one of my favorite novelists)
[name_u]Reid[/name_u]/[name_u]Reed[/name_u]
[name_m]Tavish[/name_m]
[name_m]Gareth[/name_m]
[name_m]Lochlan[/name_m]/[name_m]Lachlan[/name_m]
[name_m]Eamon[/name_m]
[name_m]Riordan[/name_m]
[name_m]Bram[/name_m]
[name_m]Laird[/name_m]
[name_u]Monroe[/name_u]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]

[name_m]Weston[/name_m]
[name_u]Easton[/name_u]
[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u]
[name_f]Brighton[/name_f]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_m]Fletcher[/name_m]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]
[name_m]Jeffrey[/name_m]
[name_m]Orlando[/name_m]
Chatham(chat-um)
[name_m]Stetson[/name_m]
[name_u]Paxton[/name_u]

I like [name_u]Daron[/name_u] the best.
I also agree that [name_f]Ashlan[/name_f] is too close to [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] for comfort.

I can appreciate the [name_f]Aydon[/name_f]… but his name will be a dime a dozen with the current [name_u]Aidan[/name_u] craze.
If you really want to go with [name_f]Aydon[/name_f] though, now it the best time to do it… best to be on target than trendy after the fact (if you plan on keeping the option open for a grandchild as a reverence to your husband)

[name_m]Kellan[/name_m] [name_m]Cabot[/name_m] and [name_u]Finn[/name_u] [name_m]Merrick[/name_m] are lovely names. I really like the suggestion of [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
