New here + need suggestions!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all! My name is [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]. I’ve been on numerous other name sites, lurking, looking to see which I liked best. And I found Nameberry! So hello!

Anyways, I have a 3 year old daughter and my husband and I are now expecting our second! We don’t know the gender yet, but I’m secretly praying for another darling daughter

My daughter’s name is [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f]. My best friend is [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]-[name_f]Marie[/name_f] (hence the Lis- and [name_f]Mary[/name_f]). My mother is [name_f]Annette[/name_f] (therefore -ette). [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is also a longtime family name on both sides of the family. This time we want to honor husband and his bestfriend! Hubby is [name_m]John[/name_m] (he goes by [name_m]Jack[/name_m], always have). His best friend is [name_m]Luke[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. I’m not sure how to honor a best friend with a girl, though!

I think the #1 is [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] (for [name_m]Jack[/name_m]). Any other suggestions? PS other family names: [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Laura[/name_f].

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Namberry!

[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is a gorgeous name, and congrats on your second.
[name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] isn’t my favourite; it seems a tad dated next to the lovely, ageless [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]. Plus, the nickname [name_u]Jackie[/name_u] is unattractive (at least to me). I’d probably save this for the middle slot, as a female version of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is difficult. [name_f]Jacintha[/name_f] (the Spanish version of [name_f]Hyacinth[/name_f]) is a stretch, and then of course there’s [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Joan[/name_f], and the other multilingual variations of [name_m]John[/name_m]/[name_m]Jack[/name_m]. [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_u]Jean[/name_u], as of by the way, are applicable, as well…also viable middle name choices that fit the classic theme of [name_f]Lisette[/name_f]'s middle name [name_f]Mary[/name_f].
[name_m]Luke[/name_m] is a little easier to work with; [name_m]Luke[/name_m]/[name_m]Lukas[/name_m]/[name_m]Lucas[/name_m] branches into the [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] branch; [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Lisette[/name_f] are adorable.
You’ve also got some gems of family names; [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] are favourites of mine.

I think any [name_u]Lou[/name_u]/[name_m]Luc[/name_m] name works to honor [name_m]Luke[/name_m]. [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] sounds nice. I think [name_f]Joan[/name_f] is a nice way to honor your husband as well. [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] or [name_f]Patience[/name_f] would work for [name_m]Patrick[/name_m].

[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is gorgeous and works so well as an honor name. Good luck finding something just as lovely!

[name_u]Julianne[/name_u] [name_f]Patricia[/name_f]? I think maybe just adding in the L sound to a J name might work, like:

[name_f]Jillian[/name_f] [name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliana[/name_f] [name_u]Peyton[/name_u]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Petal[/name_f]

Or maybe you could work the best friends last name in?

Another idea would just be to use the initials like :

[name_f]Luciana[/name_f] [name_u]Pax[/name_u]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f] [name_u]Paisley[/name_u]
[name_f]Livia[/name_f] [name_f]Paloma[/name_f]

Of course the [name_m]Jack[/name_m] connection is tough that way. Also maybe a connection based on the meanings of the names could be creative.

[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] is lovely. I have to second the opinion that [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f] isn’t my favorite name ([name_u]Jackie[/name_u] O was classic-- her name, not so much). However, if you’re willing to follow me down the rabbit hole of [name_m]Jack[/name_m] feminizations for a moment:

[name_f]Gianna[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Johanna[/name_f]
Full nameberry list of Jane variations here

As for honoring [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], the most obvious feminization is [name_f]Patricia[/name_f] but that’s also a little dated. The only alternatives that I can think of are:
[name_f]Patience[/name_f]
[name_u]Patrice[/name_u]

Your other honor names are lovely. I love [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f] at the moment, and you can never go wrong with [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f].

I love the name [name_f]Joanie[/name_f]/[name_f]Joni[/name_f] to honour [name_m]John[/name_m]! ( a la [name_f]Joni[/name_f] [name_m]Mitchell[/name_m])!!

Maybe [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] for [name_m]Luke[/name_m]?

Good luck!

Likewise I’m not a fan of the name [name_f]Jacqueline[/name_f]/[name_u]Jackie[/name_u] - it’s my mum’s name and I wanted to honour her so went with her middle name instead. Some alternatives would be to select names that have the same meaning as [name_m]Jack[/name_m]/[name_m]John[/name_m] - god is gracious. I think anything along the ‘grace’ theme would work.

My obvious favourite is simply [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - but some others include:

[name_f]Hansine[/name_f]
[name_f]Jana[/name_f]
[name_f]Shona[/name_f]
[name_f]Sinead[/name_f]
[name_f]Siobhan[/name_f]
[name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_u]Jean[/name_u]
[name_f]Joanna[/name_f]

Out of these, I think that [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Shona[/name_f], [name_f]Sinead[/name_f] work nicely with your other name, but I wouldn’t say they’re a perfect match.

If I had to choose, I’d go for something like [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] or [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f], to honour your husband and his friend. It’s not direct, but I think it has enough of a connection to work.

[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Lucille[/name_f] (may be too similar to [name_f]Lisette[/name_f], or you may think it a good connection)
[name_f]Lisette[/name_f] [name_f]Mary[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Patience[/name_f] (from a suggestion above - I really love this combination)

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

thanks all! i absolutely [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_f]Gianna[/name_f] and [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]!!
