New here. Wondering peoples thoughts on

The name [name]Georgiana[/name]? I’ve loved this name for a long time but Im wondering what people think of it. Is it too much name?
also, thoughts on…
[name]Kate[/name]- worried its too boring
[name]Josephine[/name]-worried it screams old lady. It was my great grandmothers name and im kind of in love with it.
This is my first post so sorry if i sound awkward or something

[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry! Let me reassure you now that you have excellent taste in names. The names in your signature are very nice.

[name]Georgiana[/name] is sophisticated and regal. [name]Love[/name] [name]Georgiana[/name] paired with the quirky [name]Lark[/name]. [name]Kate[/name] is lovely as well, although I’d like it better paired with a more interesting, far less common middle name. My first thoughts were something like [name]Kate[/name] [name]Araminta[/name] or [name]Kate[/name] [name]Lavinia[/name]. [name]How[/name] would you feel about something like that? I don’t think [name]Josephine[/name] is too old lady, although [name]Josie[/name] [name]Belle[/name] runs the risk of sounding a little too farm girlish. Maybe a different middle name like [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Maeve[/name] or [name]Josephine[/name] [name]Claire[/name]? [name]Just[/name] some ideas.

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce [name]Georgiana[/name]? Like [name]George[/name]-ee-ah-na/[name]George[/name]-ee-anna or like Jor-jay-na? I prefer the last pronunciation but I like it. I don’t think it’s too much with a cute nickname.

[name]Kate[/name] is my name (well, nickname) so I’m biased. I don’t think it’s too boring at all

[name]Josephine[/name] is also nice! I used to love it but it’s a little too frilly for me personally. I like [name]Josie[/name] as a nickname.

It’s always great to see a fellow teen on here

[name]Georgiana[/name] is lovely! I love how the [name]Georgi[/name]- names are so elegant and classic. I think with a good nickname, this name is totally usable for a child, while the full name will look great while applying for jobs, college, etc. [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Lark[/name] is fun, feminine, and gorgeous! [name]Lark[/name] balances out the formality of [name]Georgiana[/name] perfectly!

[name]Kate[/name] is alright, but I prefer [name]Katherine[/name]/[name]Catherine[/name] because there’s more nickname options.

There’s nothing wrong with [name]Josephine[/name], and I think that [name]Josie[/name] is adorable, but there’s just something about this name that rubs me the wrong way.

I adore [name]Georgiana[/name]. If I could get my husband on board, it would be our baby’s middle name. I prefer the pronunciation [name]Georgianna[/name] (george-ee-ah-nah), to the more American-style [name]George[/name]-ee-ann-ah.

[name]Kate[/name] is blah. I’ve known way too many who are awful women, and I hate the name [name]Katie[/name].

[name]Josephine[/name] is pretty. NMS, but it’s a very feminine and flowing name. I’ve seen it tossed around on here quite a bit, and it doesn’t get a lot of “sounds old lady-ish” comments.

[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry! I am a teen [name]Berry[/name] and a writer as well. I love tkhe names on your signature! Especially [name]Callista[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] and [name]Leo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]! I love [name]Georgiana[/name], I do not find it too over the top at all. I agree with agirlinred that [name]Kate[/name] is lovely but should be paired with something more exotic and exciting! I don’t think [name]Josephine[/name] is too old lady sounding at all.

Thank you for all the replies. I feel alot better about [name]Georgiana[/name] now  I agree that [name]Kate[/name] needs a more exotic mn but I just can’t think of one and [name]Isabella[/name] was my great grandma’s name so I feel kinda pressured to use it. Can anybony think of an mn similar to [name]Isabella[/name] I could use for [name]Kate[/name]?

[name]Welcome[/name] to Nameberry! I love all of the names in your signature

[name]Georgiana[/name] is gorgeous! Definitely not too much
I prefer [name]Kate[/name] as a nickname, but it’s not terrible! I get called [name]Kate[/name] sometimes {my full name is [name]Katie[/name]}. I think I prefer [name]Katherine[/name] “[name]Kate[/name]”.
[name]Josephine[/name] is BEAUTIFUL. I think that if it honours, all the more reason to use it! Old lady isn’t a bad thing :stuck_out_tongue:

I love [name]Georgiana[/name] - very classy, and my favourite of the female ‘[name]George[/name]’ names. Beautiful. Stick with it.
[name]Kate[/name] is nice too - but hard for me to be objective, I’ve known so many and also avoided it as a nickname myself!
I’ve always liked [name]Josephine[/name] because of the nn [name]Josie[/name]. It’s too heavy and religious for me to use personally, but I like that it’s out and about. Unusual and traditional so I think it will age well.

I love [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Georgiana[/name], but [name]Kate[/name]'s NMS.

What about [name]Kate[/name] [name]Arabella[/name] or [name]Annabella[/name]/[name]Annabelle[/name]?

[name]Kate[/name] [name]Alessandra[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Arielle[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Isolde[/name]

It’s a lot of name. Georgina is my favourite of the feminised George names. Kate is strictly a nickname for Catherine (I prefer this spelling to K by far), and Josephine is a desperate attempt to tart up my least favoured “classic” boys’ name, Joseph. I do quite like Josiane though, go figure, and Josie is sweet. Of the three, my combination suggestions would be Georgina Catherine or Catherine Georgina and Josiane Georgina. Other suggestions:

Florence
Maude
Cecily
Maeve
Arabella
Beatrix
Edith
Juniper
Ivy (Ivy Georgiana would be wonderful)
Ismene

I don’t think [name]Josephine[/name] screams old lady at all. It’s a classic which is back in at the moment, and it comes with the adorable nn [name]Josie[/name]. I don’t think of it as a desperate feminization of [name]Joseph[/name]… it’s a substantial name. I like [name]Georgiana[/name], although I prefer [name]Georgina[/name].

[name]Georgiana[/name] is gorgeous, although I prefer [name]Georgia[/name], [name]Georgiana[/name] is beautiful in my opinion.

[name]Josephine[/name] is pretty, fashioned and outdated, but it’s NMS

[name]Kate[/name]'s dull nowadays, perhaps you should opt for various takes, like [name]Cate[/name], [name]Catie[/name], [name]Katey[/name], [name]Kaite[/name] (I’ve heard of this one before…), [name]Kat[/name]…

[name]Georgiana[/name] is pretty! I wouldnt use it myself, but kudos to you for considering it.

[name]Josephine[/name] is on my short-list too (to honor a [name]Jozefa[/name]) and one of my favorites. Classic, lovely nn options, it’s a winner in my opinion.

[name]Kate[/name] I prefer as a nn for [name]Katherine[/name], but also a good strong classic. I dont think you can go wrong with any of these names.

[name]Welcome[/name] violetgray (you have a lovely username)

I love all of your choices and with [name]Kate[/name] being my daughter’s mn I am biased about that I just love it.

[name]Georgiana[/name] is a grand name, very frilly and pretty and just lovely for a gorgeous daughter.

[name]Josephine[/name] was not one of my loves till I heard the European pronunciation ie yo suh pheena but it is a popular berry name and it has a family connection it would be a classical choice.

My heart would prefer [name]Georgiana[/name] [name]Kate[/name] though and I wish someone would name their daughter [name]Georgina[/name] I haven’t heard of one in donkey’s years, but I still love [name]Georgiana[/name] it’s lovely.

And [name]Josephine[/name] is not a desperate attempt to feminise [name]Joseph[/name] it is a true classic that has been used and loved for centuries.

rollo

[name]Georgiana[/name] is lovely! [name]Love[/name] the nn [name]Gia[/name] ! I do prefer [name]Georgia[/name] though.
[name]Kate[/name] is very pretty! I prefer it as a nickname for [name]Katherine[/name] though.
[name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous! I don’t think it’s old lady at all. [name]Josie[/name] and [name]Posy[/name] are cute nn!

I prefer [name]Georgia[/name] to [name]Georgiana[/name], but I like shorter and simpler names, personally.
[name]Kate[/name] is very nice and you could have lots of fun with a mn.
[name]Josephine[/name] is gorgeous.

[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f]. I would just go with [name_f]Georgia[/name_f].
I personally wouldn’t use [name_f]Kate[/name_f] but thwre’s nothing wrong with it.
I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. Especially with the nickname [name_u]Josie[/name_u].

Hello! [name_f]Welcome[/name_f] to Nameberry. I’m a new member myself.

I actually prefer the name [name_f]Georgiana[/name_f] over [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] or [name_f]Georgina[/name_f]. I think it’s cute and spunky, but easy to grow into. I think [name_f]Kate[/name_f] is a very cute and sweet name, but I prefer it as a middle name. I am not a fan of [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], but since it was your great-grandmother’s name I can see why you love it so much. I think the nn [name_u]Josie[/name_u] is absolutely adorable.
