New here

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] gang. I’m [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (middle name actually) and I’m new here. [name_f]My[/name_f] spouse and I are finally ready to begin the adoption process and we’re opting for a little girl. I’m so excited to join you all and find the perfect name.

To give you a little hint as to my style, I tend to opt for classic names. I’ve always actually wished my middle name wasn’t [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] so I could use the name for my daughter (love the nickname [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f]), but it is, so now leaning toward some of the other classics.

Anyway, can’t wait to get to know you all better and have fun talking about names!

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f], @Elizabeth_Rose1

So glad you joined us! Best of luck with the adoption process and I’m looking forward to hearing the names you’re considering.

(FWIW, I think you definitely could still use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] if you wanted to. It’s a wonderful classic with so much versatility.)

Thank you so much for the message!

Yes, I considered it too. It’s definitely on the table, but we’ll see if we come up with something better.

Thank you again for welcoming me.

I actually think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] would still be a wonderful choice but here are some more

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] @Elizabeth_Rose1! I hope you’ll enjoy the nameberry community. I found this list with classic girl names for you, to get you started. Good luck with the adoption and with finding a name!

Thank you so much! I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and may still go with it, but I’d want to call her [name_f]Ella[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]. It’s definitely on the list.

[name_f]My[/name_f] list right now includes the following:

[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], or [name_f]Elena[/name_f])
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (we’ll see if we go through with this)
[name_f]Emma[/name_f] (or [name_f]Gemma[/name_f])
[name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] (don’t want pronunciation problems)
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (friend just named her baby this so likely not)
[name_u]Regan[/name_u] (pronounced [name_f]Ree[/name_f]-gan, but unlikely due to the Exorcist)
[name_u]Jamie[/name_u] (spouse like [name_u]Jameson[/name_u])

Thank you so much! [name_m]Will[/name_m] look it over.

Hey [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]!

Congratulations on your adoption journey! I think you are getting some great suggestions already so I have not much to add on that front.

I thought I would write and chime in because well, I’m adopted! I was as a baby! I’d encourage you if you want to make [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] a part of your daughters name. When I was adopted my parents kept my birth name but changed the first letter to mesh better with my last name. So I went from [name_u]Cris[/name_u] to [name_u]Kris[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] middle name now is actually my adoptive moms middle name.

When they adopted my older sister (no blood relation) they moved her given birth first name to the middle spot and gave her a new first name. So things like that are also always possibilities.

Congratulations again! I am somewhat jealous As I hope to be able to be in such a process some day! You’re a blessing indeed

[name_f]Liesel[/name_f]- Adorable diminutive of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]
[name_u]Lisa[/name_u]- Same

I think you definitely could use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], though, as a first or middle. It would be a nice bond for you to share with your future daughter! Good luck with everything!

From your list, I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]! [name_f]Victoria[/name_f], [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are also great classics.

But I would seriously recommend maybe a variant of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], or [name_f]Elise[/name_f], for you since you love [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] so much. (Though I do think [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is usable for you, too.)

Others you might like: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f], [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Alice[/name_f].

[name_f]Helena[/name_f] ([name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Nell[/name_f])

[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] ([name_u]Matty[/name_u], [name_f]Tilly[/name_f], [name_f]Milly[/name_f])

[name_f]Welcome[/name_f] hope you find the perfect name for your little one & good luck with the adoption process :tada::purple_heart:

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] is gorgeous I am currently TTC and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] will definitely be the middle name for my little girl if I am blessed with a daughter. Her name will be [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] with all three names being honour names. [name_f]Honour[/name_f] names are great and you can find some really gorgeous classics in your family tree I would potentially look into you & your partners family tree!

Anyways here are some other suggestions:
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helped

I would go with Lizzette or [name_f]Aliza[/name_f]

Hmm, I didn’t consider [name_f]Lizzie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Annalise[/name_f]. That’s interesting.

Oohh, love the name you have picked for your girl. Best wishes to you!

Honestly I think you could still use [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but here are some other names:

[name_f]Elsie[/name_f] or [name_f]Elsy[/name_f]

Some of these might not sound similar to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], but I thought they flowed nicely with the name.
