New Here!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I am a long time lurking on here without an account, but I will be TTC in the coming months and I just LOVE talking names.

That said, I am abit conflicted with perfecting my top names. I have a top 5, but am struggling with mainly middle names. I hope I can make this as straight forward as possible, but I will drop all my thoughts. This of course is all hypothetical at this moment and if babies are girls! I realistically right now am planning for 3 kids, so it isn’t likely I would get to use all these names. I am trying to prioritize them the best as possible to prevent name regret!

:cherry_blossom: [name_f]Leah[/name_f] - [name_f]My[/name_f] #1 name. [name_f]Beautiful[/name_f], simple and sweet. It really means a lot to me. Middle name: I thought I had decided on [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f]. It does look and sound beautiful and is an honour name. But, despite not the best flow, [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] has come up on my radar with [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] being an honour as well. It is a must that I use both [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] and [name_f]Karolina[/name_f].

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] or [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f]?

:cherry_blossom: [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] - I go back and forth with this being my #2 or #3 name. Regardless is beautiful! Middle name: I originally had though [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]. It just sound beautiful, but I have no connections to the name [name_u]Ivy[/name_u]. After some thinking, I thought of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] with [name_f]Faith[/name_f] being an honour name, but makes me hesitant as I am not religious. So, then I know I wanted to use [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] or [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] as soon as possible too. Also, had on my list [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is an option as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] holds sentimental value, but I thought perhaps too bland or boring?

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] or [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]?

:cherry_blossom: [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] - This one I go back and forth on being the #2 or #3 name as well. Soo sweet and beautiful! Middle name: I had first thought of [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. But, though [name_f]Rose[/name_f] maybe too boring, despite having sentimental value. Other options did include [name_f]Emilie[/name_f], [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] and [name_f]Faith[/name_f] as middle names.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] or [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f]?

:cherry_blossom: [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - This is very sweet and pretty! I have always adored it. Middle names: I had first [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f], which is beautiful. But, worried with how far down on my list [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is that there’d be a possibility it wouldn’t be used and most of all neither would [name_f]Karolina[/name_f]. I just don’t know if I want [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] higher up the list. I had no other ideas for a middle name for [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] as I would want the middle name to end in ‘a’, but nothing has jumped out.

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] or [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] _____a?

:cherry_blossom: [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - This name is complete for me! I am very happy with it. It is beautiful, bright and sweet. I am also happy with not having it higher on my list as well.

Thank you! I hope this makes sense, but my thoughts are soo jumbled and all over the place.

Welcome to NB!

Here are some assorted thoughts:

Leah Emilie is prettier to me (but Leah runs into Emilie/they blur) while Leah Karolina is more dynamic and strong (but/and has an assonant quality). I would personally go Leah Amelia or Leah Caroline.

I like Hannah Faith the most because I think it flows the best - Hannah Ivy is a good combo but I don’t think it’s the best transition from Hannah to Ivy. But either of these work. Serena could also work if you want another A ending. Maybe Hannah Charlotte as Charlotte is related to Karolina. I like that! Hannah Rosalina to honour Rose.

I don’t love any of the Ayla combinations - again, I would prefer Ayla Caroline or Ayla Emilia. Ayla Faith sounds a bit harsh/broad to me with so much A sound - but I guess it could sound better with a last name in play; and Ayla Emilie and Ayla Karolina just don’t flow to me - both in terms of rhythm and matching styles. Ayla Emilie is OK. Depending on your others, I like the Rosetta/Rosaline/Rosalina/Rosanna options.

I like Chloe Karolina - though I would change to Chloe Carolina just so I could keep Coco or CeeCee as possible nicknames (still honours imo, and also looks better to me). Other A endings, Chloe Emilia/Amelia/Aurelia (honour names); Chloe Rosanna (honour); Chloe Anastasia; Chloe Aurora; Chloe Estella; Chloe Jemima; Chloe Philippa. Lots of other A options for Chloe, I’m sure others will help here.

Overall, you should think about whether you want your girls to have the same endings/sounds and be matchy, or you want them to be different but connect on style.

Eg Leah, Hannah & Ayla all sound similar with the two syllable plus “Ah” sounding ending.

Chloe and Sophia go together but I would only pair these two with Hannah of the others in your set or possibly Leah. Actually, I would do a different third with this that doesn’t repeat the A ending of Sophia - so Chloe, Sophia and Emilie (one of your honour names and you could nn Lily), Rose (I prefer Rose as a first - so much more spunky!), or Faith (I don’t think Faith seems primarily religious these days, it’s more a virtue name that has a fresh sound like Faye and Blythe etc).

In short (lol), I think you have two name sets. Both pretty but different propositions.

Thank you so much for this! All this detail is greatly appreciated. A lot of the honour for [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] comes with keeping the ‘K’. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think [name_f]Karoline[/name_f] could also be an option? I am hesitant on this as I understand it could be potentially viewed as butchering the classic [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] - which isn’t my intentions, I personally really like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] as is, but it is soo hard to find a ‘K’ name I love. [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] (more so) and [name_f]Karoline[/name_f] are so far the only ones. I have been thru soo many! Despite the exception for possibly using [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] with [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] or [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], typically I enjoy the balance of first name ending in ‘a’ and middle name ending not in ‘a’. [name_u]Or[/name_u] first name not ending in ‘a’ and middle name ending in ‘a’.

I had the same thought about [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] seeming abit off even though it could totally be do-able, if really loved. Thank you for easing my mind on [name_f]Faith[/name_f] - it is a lovely name. I have also thrown around the idea of [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], but then my naming OCD steps in and there is potential for two to have ‘-ie’ ending middles while one wouldn’t. I’m not sure how much that could bother me.

I understand what about the first names all together. If I were to be blessed with 3 girls; [name_f]Leah[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] would definitely be what I would go for, so I am glad they go well together.

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] - such a sweet but strong name! [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] is my preference - charming and pretty.

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] - gentle but strong and versatile. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] are both nice! Maybe a twist on them - like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f], [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rosaline[/name_f] (a nod to [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] too)

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] - bright and sweet! [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is charming! [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] is snappy and cute too

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - a bubbly and lively name! [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] is very sassy and cute! [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalina[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Anya[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]?

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is cute!

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] is simple and sweet! [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] is really choppy to me, so I’d go with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f].

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is actually my name! I don’t think it’s too bland, but my favorite on your list is probably [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u].

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is such a fun name! I do think that [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a bit bland, but [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] flows really well.

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is such a bubbly name and I think it works pretty well with [name_f]Karolina[/name_f]! I’m seconding the idea of using [name_f]Carolina[/name_f] for the possibility of [name_u]Coco[/name_u] or [name_f]Cece[/name_f] as nicknames, but I think the K also helps differentiate the names.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is simple but perfect! Nothing wrong there.

I’m sure you’ve probably considered these, but here are some K names!
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
[name_f]Katerina[/name_f]
[name_f]Katrina[/name_f]
[name_u]Kelsey[/name_u]
[name_f]Kiera[/name_f] / [name_f]Keira[/name_f]
[name_f]Kyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Karina[/name_f]
[name_u]Kelly[/name_u] / [name_f]Kellie[/name_f]
[name_f]Kara[/name_f]
[name_f]Kaitlyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f]

It took a while to grow on me, but I don’t mind [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] or [name_f]Karoline[/name_f] actually! Of course, I prefer with the C, but if you have to honour with the K than that makes sense.
Have you considered other ways of honouring this person?

[name_f]My[/name_f] thoughts

[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is very classic with a nostalgic 90s feel. I visualise [name_f]Leah[/name_f] roller blading, wearing brightly coloured neon clothes and her hair in pigtails. [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] is a sweet middle name for [name_f]Leah[/name_f] adding to the overall nostalgia. [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] feels bolder with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] but I do prefer [name_f]Emilie[/name_f].

[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is a very friendly choice with the ultimate girl next door vibe. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is that kind girl who loves animals, is a little bookish and has a naturally bubbly personality. I love [name_f]Faith[/name_f] as a name she’s a favourite and I think sounds gorgeous with [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. Definitely my favourite option. I also do not feel you need to be religious to appreciate the concept of faith or use the name.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] ~ [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] feels very different from the rest of your list and I wouldn’t naturally pair her with your other favourites. I can completely see the appeal she’s visually very pretty, has an interesting sound, feels fresher in comparison to [name_f]Isla[/name_f] and the meanings surrounding [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] are wonderful. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my preferred middle name a little predictable but sweet. You could also freshen [name_f]Rose[/name_f] up by using a variant like [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f] or [name_u]Penrose[/name_u].

[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] ~ a lovely sweet name with springtime energy attached. [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] I feel is more in keeping with [name_f]Leah[/name_f] & [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] definitely more of a natural sister name. I think [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] is lovely such a sweet melodic sound.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] ~ definitely my favourite from your list. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is a favourite of mine she’s elegant, charming, feels glamorous, has a lovely meaning ‘wisdom’ and is very sweet. I love [name_f]Lily[/name_f] in the middle name slot fresh and pretty.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

[name_u]Welcome[/name_u] to Nameberry!!
[name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] - I love Leah; sweet, strong, simple, underused (at least where I am in the UK) biblical classic. I’m not totally convinced by either combo - the flow feels a tiny bit off - but if they’re meaningful to you they’re both entirely usable; I vote for [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] - it adds a more unexpected, princessy flair to [name_f]Leah[/name_f]!
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] - I adore [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] (so sweet and friendly) and especially the combo [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] Ivy; I don’t think you necessarily need a connection to the middle especially with a nature name! But if that’s important to you [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is lovely & I definitely don’t think you have to be religious to use [name_f]Faith[/name_f] - most people have faith in something, not necessarily a higher power. I also like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f].
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] - [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is very different to your other names but sweet, girly & pretty; I don’t think that [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is boring given that it’s paired with a more unexpected first (I do think [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is a little bland much as I like Hannah)
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] is lovely and [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Karolina[/name_f] is stunning; of the other names you mentioned [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is pretty to me?
[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] - I like this one, although it does feel like a combo of two names I hear a lot; that’s for a good reason though - they’re both lovely!
Of the names you’ve mentioned, I love a lot but [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] is my favourite…

I think [name_f]Leah[/name_f] is a beautiful name! It’s classic without being overused. [name_f]Leah[/name_f] [name_f]Emilie[/name_f] gets my vote.

I like [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], but do think it’s on the more popular side if that bothers you? [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Ivy[/name_u] is my favorite for middle name.

[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is very pretty! I think it’s up and coming but not overly popular yet. [name_f]Aya[/name_f] [name_f]Faith[/name_f] is my favorite. [name_f]Rose[/name_f] feels a bit overdone.

Choe is a pretty name. Again, a little over used where I live.

[name_f]Sophia[/name_f] is definitely a popular name. I have many friends who have used this name and know of a few that are friends with my son as well. [name_f]Sophia[/name_f] [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is a pretty name though if popularity doesn’t bother you!
