New list for baby girl #2

I thought we had narrowed it down to 2 but I think we are starting fresh. Why is naming #2 harder than #1? Anyways, I have a very strong feeling we are having a girl, though we find out in a couple weeks. Would love thoughts on the below names… ranking, top favorites, vibes you get, etc. Thank you so much in advance!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is one of my favorite names. I love [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] too. Not crazy about [name_u]Eden[/name_u] - sorry but it sounds like a stripper name!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - I like it! Familiar but it still feels fairly fresh and sweet

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is strong but pretty. Not my favourite but it’s a solid name and goes well with [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

[name_f]Indie[/name_f] - fun, bright and brilliant. I like it!

[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - [name_f]Amara[/name_f] is great. Mature but cute!

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - nice enough but a little dull

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] - cute and vivid

[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - like [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], strong but pretty. I like it!

[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] - I like this a lot. It has a classic feel but [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] gives it charm

[name_u]Skye[/name_u] - love the imagery of this. Its lovely

[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - such a sweet sound!!

[name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Indie[/name_f], Eden and [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] are my favourites

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - cute, but I think you’d have to spell it out all the time due to the more popular [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I think unusual spellings are fine for middle names, but can be quite annoying for first names. You’ll only have to deal with it for a few years, [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] would have it her whole life.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - pretty name, but the Shrek connotation is pretty strong for me.
[name_f]Indie[/name_f] - I really like this, but feel like it would be better used as a nickname, for [name_u]Indigo[/name_u], [name_u]Indiana[/name_u], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f], [name_f]Melinda[/name_f], etc.
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I really like this one
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - As said before, I quite like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], and a more common spelling leads to an easier life
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] - [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] is super cute! But I also think it would work well on an adult. One of my favourites
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - Quite like it. Not a big fan, but there’s nothing wrong
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] - It’s an “old lady name”, but it’s also cute. Could work
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] - really pretty, but I’m not really a fan of single syllable names.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - I love the sound of [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. I wouldn’t use it, since I’m not a [name_m]Christian[/name_m], but it’s a very nice name.

Top choices (in no real order)
[name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]: I really love this spelling of the name: It’s elegant, different from the super-popular version, and with a sweet sound. I also think it goes very nicely with [name_f]Willow[/name_f].
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]: Sweet, spunky, and underused, [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] flies under the radar for a lot of parents, which is a shame because it’s a fantastic name.
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]: I love the cool, free-spirited vibe of this name, but I’m not sure about it as a sister for [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. Maybe a bit too much of a nickname?
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]: Very nice, love the rhythmic sound, but this one seems to be an outlier in terms of your typical style.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]: This name is solid, strong, and classic, but I do worry about its overwhelming popularity.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]: Fantastic choice for you. It’s shorter and a nickname, but with lots of history as a given name, and hits the popularity sweet spot.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]: One of my top choices for you. This name has a lively sound, and, much like [name_f]Willow[/name_f], is currently popular but has a long history of usage.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]: Positively charming. [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] balances being traditional with style.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]: This name is modern and tailored, with beautiful and obvious imagery.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]: Wow. I think this name is absolutely perfect for you. It ties into [name_f]Willow[/name_f]'s name by maintaining the nature imagery, and is also two syllables with a current feel. Besides that, it is a stunner in its own right.

My favorite for you is [name_u]Eden[/name_u], hands down, but I also like [name_f]Freya[/name_f], [name_f]Maisie[/name_f], [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Fiona[/name_f].

Oh my gosh, I love your style! I love almost every name on your list so I’m not sure how much help I can be but I’ll try my best!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]- I prefer this to [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] because I think it looks softer but I also say the two almost exactly the same (and the difference is not super detectable to the outside ear) so I think it will constantly be confused
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]- I love how spunky and strong this name is and I also think the nickname [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is super badass for a girl. I don’t really mind the Shrek association because I don’t see why that would be bad. Her character is pretty cool
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]- Another name filled with spunk. I just think [name_f]Indie[/name_f] sounds so happy and vivacious
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]- I’ve been loving [name_f]Amaya[/name_f] recently but I also really like [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. It sounds like a modern princess name, feminine and strong
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]- pretty name but I prefer [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and I also find it a bit dull
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]- my puppy’s name is [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] so I’m super biased but I think it’s so sweet! I worry about it as a full name but nicknames are becoming more common in the US and it’s super similar to [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] and [name_f]Macy[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- this is super uncommon in the US so I’d love hearing of a little [name_f]Freya[/name_f]! The sounds seem like it should be really soft but there’s this quiet strength within [name_f]Freya[/name_f] that I really love
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]- I really like [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] but I don’t like [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. Also, while I love [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], I think it sounds harsh next to [name_f]Willow[/name_f], since her name is so soft and whimsical. [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] is more tailored to me
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]- possibly a little theme-y with [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but it has the same soft sound and pleasant feel as [name_f]Willow[/name_f] does
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]- I really love [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. It’s a modern name but reminds me of [name_f]Edith[/name_f] which gives it a bit of a buttoned-up feel. I picture a sassy but sweet little girl

My favorites are so [name_f]Indie[/name_f], [name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_f]Freya[/name_f], and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is adorable and sounds really cute, however I prefer the spelling [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (just my personal opinion).
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Indie[/name_f], and [name_f]Amara[/name_f] are all really cute as well. I’m not a huge fan of [name_f]Maisie[/name_f] or [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], but [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is super cute and a really glamourous name. [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] are so beautiful as well!

I think my favorites are [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Amara[/name_f], [name_u]Skye[/name_u], and [name_u]Eden[/name_u].

I vote for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], and [name_u]Skye[/name_u]

My favourite is [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. It has an elegant and sophisticated vibe.

I agree #2 is harder because you want something that goes well with #1 but also different.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]- bored with it. Sorry
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]- it’s OK, I prefer just [name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]- a bit frilly for me but I do like it more than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]- I feels a bit nn, but it goes well with willow.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] feel early 2000s to me but go excellent with [name_f]Willow[/name_f], especially [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]- while I prefer [name_f]Daisy[/name_f], this is a strong contender
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] is not my favourite
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]- also not my favorite, but I love love love [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]. Next to [name_f]Willow[/name_f] makes it even better
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] is perfect next to [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

Overall my favorites are [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] (not an option but I saw it in your signature and I love it), [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] and [name_f]Freya[/name_f]

Here are my thoughts for each of the names on your list!

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] - my second favorite. i prefer this spelling over [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] - my third favorite on your list. this is such a pretty and feminine, yet majorly underrated name!
[name_f]Indie[/name_f] - this is cute. I don’t very much like nicknames as names though, so i’d have to pass on this one.
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] - I feel indifferent towards this name.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] - see [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]!
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f] - this name is too cutesy for my taste. I like it, but i can’t see this being used on a grown woman imho.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f] - my favorite! this is a top favorite on my personal list and i think it works for a little one or an old woman and everything in between. so beautiful. love love love this name.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] - i cant get on board with this one. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is a cute nickname, but the name [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] just doesn’t do it for me.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u] - This one isn’t my favorite, but i don’t hate it.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] - i really enjoy this name given its religious connotations and just the way it sounds. however, i would personally be hesitant to use it due to everyone dubbing it as a “stripper name”. it’s a shame though, it’s really very pretty.

I hope my opinions helped you out in some way!!

I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Indie[/name_f], especially with [name_f]Willow[/name_f]! [name_f]Freya[/name_f] is also great!

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

Here are my thoughts:

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]-This is pretty. I’d be worried to use it though, because it would constantly be mistaken for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]. I don’t care for [name_f]Emmy[/name_f] either. I think that [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is adorable, but are [name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_f]Millie[/name_f] too much?

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]-I love it! It’s my sweet doggy’s name, so I’m biased. It’s strong, smart & feminine. It’s well known, but not over done.

[name_f]Indie[/name_f]-Hm, I don’t know. I think it does have a nice feel w/[name_f]Willow[/name_f], but I just don’t see it as a full name. What about [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] nn [name_f]Indie[/name_f]? [name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_u]Indigo[/name_u] are gorgeous!

[name_f]Amara[/name_f]-I’m not sure why, but I don’t care for this. It seems like [name_f]Mara[/name_f], but w/an ‘A’ that seems out of place.

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]-This is my other pet’s name! My [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f]) is a beautiful cat, so of course I love this too. For a human though, it’s pretty popular.

[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]-Aw, so sweet. I really like it better as a nn though. Kind of cutesy for an adult. [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is my favorite, but [name_f]Maureen[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Mary[/name_f] are nice.

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]-Simple & lovely.

[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]-I like [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]. [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] is fun. I kind of love [name_f]Bridie[/name_f].

[name_u]Skye[/name_u]-This is cool w/[name_f]Willow[/name_f]. Very majestic.

[name_u]Eden[/name_u]-Not sure why, but I can’t get on board w/this one. It’s not bad though. I do like it w/[name_f]Willow[/name_f].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.

From my favourite to my least:

[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]/[name_f]Birdie[/name_f]
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]

Wow, thank you all so much for such thoughtful responses - long or short. I appreciate it very much. This has been so helpful in eliminating! My husband went through them with me last night, too. We are down to:

[name_f]Fiona[/name_f] (top runner)
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]

[name_m]Just[/name_m] wanted to share an update  you guys are awesome. xo

I know it’s not an option (so this may be entirely unhelpful) but I love [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] from your signature, especially with fn [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] - total heart eyes!

From your full list I love [name_u]Skye[/name_u] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f], but think you can’t really go wrong with any of the names you’ve shortlisted, they’re all lovely.

@sunday_cami - I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]! Another commenter on here mentioned it too…

I practically begged my husband for [name_f]Goldie[/name_f], lol! I love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] with the nn [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] and think it works beautifully with [name_f]Willow[/name_f]. He would not budge. That’s why it isn’t on the list, unfortunately. But I totally agree with you!!

Thanks for sharing your other favorites

Top3

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]

all three fit so well with [name_f]Willow[/name_f] imo, especially [name_f]Freya[/name_f]

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]- such a sweet, classic name. i love this spelling too.
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]- this is a sweet and kinda different name. i like it.
[name_f]Indie[/name_f]- it’s spunky and whimsical sounding at the same time. i think this is such a cool bohemian name.
[name_f]Amara[/name_f]- pretty.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]- to me this is just the same name as [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and I personally prefer the [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] spelling.
[name_f]Maisie[/name_f]- not a fan.
[name_f]Freya[/name_f]- this is such a pretty, cool name.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] nn [name_f]Birdie[/name_f]- i personally just prefer [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] over Brigdet. bridget is just a really dated name to me.
[name_u]Skye[/name_u]- such a cool name.
[name_u]Eden[/name_u][/QUOTE]- eh, [name_u]Eden[/name_u] has a nice sound to it but it’s pretty underwhelming to me.
