[name]Nora[/name]

(I’m not crazy about [name]Anne[/name] by itself as a middle name (it’s my middle name), but I like combinations with [name]Ann[/name], [name]Ana[/name], [name]Anna[/name], etc…

Thanks!

Wow! So many stunning names!

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]: I’m in love with [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]! It’s so beautiful! For me, this combo is elegant, yet down to earth, and the epitome of femininity.

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Lila[/name] Chamblis
[name]Lila[/name] [name]Ruby[/name]

CallaRose [name]Cecilia[/name]: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Calla[/name], and I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Rose[/name], but together, I’m thinking CallaRose may sound too much like “calories.” Hmmm… Also, I’m worried that people may forget to capitalize the R, making the name look like this: Callarose, which looks like a Spanish word. I could be reading too much into it, but this was honestly my first thought, so I thought I’d let you know.

[name]Clover[/name] [name]Elise[/name]: [name]Clover[/name] is darling; such a lovely name, and I love [name]Elise[/name], too.

[name]Clover[/name] [name]Annabel[/name]

[name]Clover[/name] [name]Mirabel[/name]/[name]Mirabelle[/name]
[name]Clover[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]

[name]Rowan[/name] Chamblis: [name]Rowan[/name] Chamblis sounds wonderful together, and it’s a fantastic way to honor your relative. The “Blis” ending on Chamblis is so feminine, which is lovely next to [name]Rowan[/name].

[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Eliza[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Laurel[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Miranda[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]

[name]Alice[/name] Chamblis “[name]Alice[/name] Blis” or just [name]Alice[/name] (both of these are family names): What a fantastic name!

[name]Alice[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Delphine[/name] (a flower name)
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Delilah[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Juliet[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Nora[/name] “Lydi”: I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lydia[/name]! I grew up with a darling Liddy, which makes me love the name even more. I love [name]Nora[/name], too, but I’m just feeling the flow of this combo (but maybe it will grow on me!)

[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] Chamblis
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Kate[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Louise[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Noelle[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Alice[/name] Harlinn or Harlinn [name]Alice[/name] “[name]Harli[/name]”: I love [name]Alice[/name], and don’t mind Harlinn as a middle name.

[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Rome[/name] ([name]Lily[/name] and [name]Ann[/name] are family names): I don’t think [name]Liliana[/name] is a stretch at all! What a gorgeous name, and what a great way to honor family! [name]Will[/name] you be pronouncing it “[name]Lily[/name]-ann-uh” or “[name]Lily[/name]-on-uh?” [name]Both[/name] are lovely and so elegant! Is [name]Rome[/name] a family name, too?

[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Camille[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Delphine[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] Chamblis

[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Scarlett[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Liliana[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Elise[/name]: [name]Noelle[/name] and [name]Elise[/name] are lovely, but my tongue got tied saying [name]Noelle[/name] [name]Elise[/name]! (Too L heavy…)

[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Anastasia[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] Chambliss (I love the extra s, even though it’s not how your grandpa spelled it)
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Esme[/name] (ez-may)
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Eden[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Simone[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Noelle[/name] [name]Juliette[/name]

[name]Malia[/name] AnnaNora: I do like [name]Malia[/name], but I worry about people saying, “Oh! Like [name]Malia[/name] [name]Obama[/name]!” If you won’t mind that, then go for it! [name]Anna[/name] [name]Nora[/name] is pretty N heavy, but they are lovely names, too. What about [name]Nora[/name] [name]Anne[/name], or [name]Eleanor[/name] [name]Anne[/name]? [name]Nora[/name] is a great nickname for [name]Eleanor[/name].

[name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]”: I think [name]Eve[/name] is fantastic, and I love [name]Cecilia[/name], too.

[name]Eve[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Julia[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] Chamblis
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Liliana[/name]

You may also like: [name]Eva[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Evangeline[/name], and [name]Genevieve[/name].

Also, if you want to help put together with some more combinations - you can switch around any of the above and here are some other names I would like to use

other favorites:
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]
[name]Audra[/name]/ [name]Audrey[/name]
[name]Orchid[/name]
[name]Viviana[/name]
[name]Tula[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Malin[/name]
[name]Nola[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name]

Other family names I’d like to honor:
[name]Sara[/name] [name]Ann[/name]
[name]Tommie[/name] [name]Anne[/name]
[name]Anne[/name] [name]Lauren[/name]
[name]Joyce[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]

I’ll leave the rest for others. You have so, so many fantastic names from which to choose, and I love this list!

I agree with [name]Jill[/name], [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is GORGEOUS!

I also love love love [name]Rowan[/name] Chamblis. Are you a redhead? If so, you might be especially interested in [name]Rowan[/name] since I believe it means “little redhead”, isn’t that what I read in another post this week? I have always loved the name [name]Rowan[/name] but when I heard that (as a redhead personally) it bumped way up toward the top of my list for a boy or girl!

My third favorite on your list is [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] “[name]Evie[/name]”. ADORABLE, cute for now, sophisticated for a grownup. [name]Just[/name] beautiful!

I love [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. [name]Lila[/name] has shot up my list but sadly DH doesn’t care for it. Its so lovely.

[name]Jill[/name]: Thank you!! I took a lot of your advice in coming up with this new list! [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is definitely the one I’m leaning towards, second is [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] ([name]Just[/name] FYI - [name]Cecilia[/name] is my mom’s name and [name]Katherine[/name] is my mother in law  I think I came up with [name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] in my sleep…lol. I woke up with it in my head and fell in love. BUT THEN- when I dropped off my son at church nursery this morning, I noticed 2 [name]Lila[/name]'s on his class list!!! (gasp!!!) I’m trying to convince myself that it was a fluke. I know [name]Lila[/name]'s not THAT popular…lol. I still love it, though!

[name]Rome[/name] is not a family name, I just love it…lol. I know it’s not very girly, but it seems so strong and beautiful next to a really feminine name. And I love the nickname [name]Romy[/name] I would pronounce it ([name]Lily[/name] On ah) I see what your saying about the L’s in [name]Noelle[/name] [name]Elise[/name]…especially if you add [name]Hill[/name] to the end, wow that IS a mouthful!!!

[name]Erin[/name]: Thanks!! I’m pretty sure I’ve read that [name]Rowan[/name] means little red head, too!! I have fair hair (its actually almost strawberry blondish naturally, but I highlight), but my hubbie has very dark hair. Our son has fair features like me. I have a feeling she will inherit the dark features, but you never know!!!
PS- I’m very jealous that you are a natural red head

Enchanting: Thank you! I know how you feel. My husband immediately shot down about 95% of my original list (seriously, I had over 100 names, he nixed all but 8!!)…we’ve definitely had to meet in the middle. This list is a perfect compromise for us, he gets a family name and I get a name I love!

Ok - I found out today that [name]Lila[/name] (along with the variations [name]Lilah[/name] and [name]Lyla[/name]) was actually closer to number 140 according to the most current (2007) SSA records (namenerds). It rose from number 295 in 2005. That’s a huge leap!!! I know poularity shouldn’t rule out my decision, but it is likely in the top 100 by now!!! Does anyone know if 2008 records or speculation is available???

Here are some others I like in place of [name]Lila[/name]:

[name]Nola[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lyra[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Audra[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]

[name]Lola[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Calla[/name] [name]Corinne[/name]

Opinions??? Suggestions??

I also really love [name]Clover[/name], just can’t seem to find a perfect middle name. I did like the suggestion [name]Clover[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]. I even like [name]Clover[/name] as a middle name…

What about [name]Nyla[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]?

In your case, I’d use [name]Clover[/name] in the middle. My first thought when seeing [name]Clover[/name] paired with your surname was “Cloverfield” which was a fabulous horror flick! I wouldn’t want a girl of mine associated with a horro flick but it may appeal to you. But that’s why I say [name]Clover[/name] in the middle. [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Clover[/name] would be pretty and you colud get CC (Cece) out of it, easily!

Sorry to hear you’re not crazy about [name]Anne[/name], I absolutely adore it’s simplicity and elegance. And [name]Anne[/name] pairs so well with really out there names! I used [name]Anne[/name] to ground my daughter’s other two names, myself.
I’ve got [name]Tula[/name] down as a nickname for my Great Grandmother’s [name]Tallulah[/name], on our lists. I think [name]Tula[/name]'s fantastic! (but then, I’m rather attracted to OOOO sounds right now).

[name]Lila[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is beautiful but I think [name]Lila[/name]'s poised for a fairly big jump up, 10 points or so, I’d guess. I checked SSA itself ( http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ ) and [name]Lila[/name]'s ranked 259 for 2007. It was 329 in 2006, that’s a 70 poiint jump in one year! I like [name]Lila[/name] very much, anyone here can tell you I was thinking about [name]Lila[/name] as a middle name but her trendy jumping turned me off. [name]Prior[/name] to that jump, she jumped 119 points (between 2005 & 2006). And it’s got localised popularity too, [name]Lila[/name]'s never heard in my neighborhood but may have multiples in someone else’s.
[name]Lydia[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], from your list of alternatives makes my knes weak. Wow! I adore [name]Lydia[/name] but am partenered with someone who sings Groucho [name]Marx[/name] ([name]Lydia[/name] the tattooed lady) every time I bring up [name]Lydia[/name]. I adore [name]Lydia[/name]!

I’d go with your other combo, [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] as that is gorgeous as well but is more timeless than [name]Lila[/name], IMHO. [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] is divine, really. Adorable on a toddler, elegant on a grown woman. Really gorgeous!

[name]Lola[/name] [name]Violet[/name]'s cute but warning, a lot of people freak when I tell them I’m a [name]Lola[/name]. It’s a very sexy nickname name to a ton of people. In my case, My brother couldn’t say my actual name ([name]Laura[/name]) and got out lo-la, which my parents thought was cute from him and it stuck. I’ve been [name]Lola[/name] to one & all longer than I’ve ever been [name]Laura[/name]. So it’s catchy but hard to get rid of. I wouldn’t use [name]Lola[/name] as a standalone, myself. It’s great on a 21 year old but feels a bit weird on a toddler, to me. [name]Lyra[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is beautiful too, Would you consider [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]? I toy with [name]Violet[/name] as a first name, I adore the possible nickname [name]Letty[/name]/[name]Lettie[/name]. A [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] of mine would be the divine [name]Lettie[/name]. (and she’d be [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katharine[/name], for [name]Katharine[/name] Hepburn who was a wonderful lady all her life).

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] would be utterly fabulous!

[name]Lola[/name]~

My sister said the exact same thing ([name]Clover[/name] [name]Hill[/name] reminds her of CloverField). I had no clue what she was talking about until you said it was a horror flick…lol!!! I really do love [name]Clover[/name], my husband even likes it! [name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Clover[/name] is adorable, but my mom is Cece, and my son is JJ ([name]Joshua[/name] [name]Nathan[/name], [name]Jr[/name].). I’d prefer to stay away from initial nicknames for this one, and I’d also like to keep [name]Cecilia[/name] or [name]Katherine[/name] in the middle spot.

I love [name]Violet[/name] as a first name as well, but my husband isn’t crazy about the name [name]Violet[/name] at all. I can try to work on that ,though! [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is beautiful! My delima is, If I use [name]Katherine[/name] or [name]Cecilia[/name] as a middle, I really want to use the other for a future daughter’s middle (they are our mother’s first names). So I need perfect matches…[name]Do[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] sound like sisters? Hmmmm…[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Evie[/name]… If DH wont go for [name]Violet[/name], what would be a good replacement? [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Evie[/name]?

I’ve been visiting a website (namenerds.com) that takes the SSA’s name stats and re-ranks the names taking into consideration their varied spellings ([name]Lila[/name], [name]Lyla[/name], [name]Lilah[/name]). And in 2007 (according to namenerds) the name [name]Lila[/name] (along with its variations) was actually #140. Woah! From what I’ve been reading all of the L names are getting huge in every country!!! [name]Even[/name] [name]Lydia[/name] may be on the rise!! I do love L names, though. What do you think of [name]Lena[/name]?

I love the name [name]Anne[/name]! There is a long line of middle name [name]Anne[/name]'s in my family, and I guess I’ve grown kind of tired of it. I’m [name]Kristen[/name] [name]Anne[/name], aunt [name]Teresa[/name] [name]Ann[/name], Grandmothers [name]Sara[/name] [name]Ann[/name] and [name]Tommie[/name] [name]Anne[/name]. All wonderful ladies, but there are also many other wonderful names in my family to honor. However, I’m not opposed to using it by itself, if it turns out to make the perfect combo

I think [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] and [name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name] most definitely sound like sisiters. What lovely names!

I hear you about [name]Lila[/name]'s popularity, but if you love the name, you should use it!

I personally love [name]Lydia[/name] and [name]Lena[/name]. [name]Lena[/name], for me, is actually a great middle name for [name]Helena[/name].

Other L names you may like:
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Laurel[/name] (I think you mentioned [name]Lauren[/name] once, and [name]Laurel[/name] would be a great update to [name]Lauren[/name]!)
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]

I do love [name]Lila[/name], but in our region (or perhaps our neighborhood) it seems to be even more common! I don’t want her to be [name]Lila[/name] H. throughout her school years.

I did mention [name]Lauren[/name]! [name]Anne[/name] [name]Lauren[/name] was to be my grandmother’s daughter’s name, but she had three boys and decided not to try again…lol. I thought about using some form of it. [name]Laurel[/name] is really nice, but I knew a [name]Laurel[/name] in highschool who turned me off from the name.

I never knew naming a girl would be this difficult!!! My husband jokes we should just make her another namesake…lol…KJ…I don’t think so. Right now she remains BG ([name]Baby[/name] Girl) [name]Hill[/name]. Did anyone else have thismuch trouble, or am I just difficult…my mom swears I’ll know when I find the perfect name.

What about do you guys think of these:

L”onie ([name]Lay[/name] On eee) or [name]Leonie[/name] ([name]Leon[/name] ee)
[name]Leilani[/name] ([name]Lay[/name] [name]Lon[/name] eee)
[name]Leiana[/name] ([name]Lay[/name] on ah)

What would be some good combos? So far I like:

L”onie [name]Violet[/name] or [name]Leilani[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
L”onie [name]Katherine[/name]

L”onie [name]Violet[/name] is simply divine! Jumped right out at me as gorgeous, elegant and polished. Very lovely! I find it harder to name a girl myself, so you’re not alone there!

[name]Leonie[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is stunning! Did you see [name]Pam[/name] and [name]Linda[/name]'s blog entry today? It’s about L names, and it may help you.

Thanks girls! I did read the blog yesterday! Today’s bog was helpful, too!

Is [name]Violet[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] too much??? NN: [name]Vivi[/name]-[name]Anne[/name]

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is lovely, and the flow of [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] [name]Anne[/name] is great, too. (Granted, [name]Violet[/name] and [name]Anne[/name] won’t be neighbors anymore, but it’s pretty!)

What about [name]Viviana[/name]?

I am happy to say I have reached a verdict, FINALLY!

My daughter’s name will be [name]Violet[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]

alternate names: (just in case i change my mind)

[name]Eve[/name] [name]Cecilia[/name]
[name]Alice[/name] [name]Clover[/name]

(I hope I have three girls one day, so I can use all these lovely names!!)

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and opinions

[name]Violet[/name] [name]Anne[/name] is timeless and I am sure little [name]Violet[/name] will love her name into adulthood.

Congrats!!

Beautiful!!

GORGEOUS!!!
