New Name Crush WDYT

[name]Paolo[/name] just … I don’t know…For some reason it just, you know… Clicked. It fits in with a lot of my other name picks and really I could see myself using it, in the middle or in the front.

All I really want to know is what you see when you picture this name. I’d hate to give my kid a name that conjures up a bad image other a personal image so… WDYT?

I picture a handsome soccer player!

I’ve actually liked that name for a while. I just dont think I would use it myself. I picture some Italian stud muffin. Lmao.

Haha yeah - ‘Italian Stud Muffin’ springs to mind too, but maybe I’ve just been watching far too many episodes of Friends ([name]Paolo[/name] was an Italian who dated [name]Rachel[/name]).

I do like it though. I also picture a little dark-haired boy.

[name]How[/name] would you pronounce it? Like [name]Paul[/name]-o? I think thats how most Americans would pronounce it? In Italian its pronounced like Pow-lo and with the correct pronunciation I like it. Coming from an Italian family its a name i hear often so I’m not wowed by it. But, I think it would be refreshing to see a little [name]Paolo[/name] on the playground

@mariab - I understand what you mean, but I don’t pronounce it that way… In fact it feels weird to even try, truly. But I guess that is how a lot people would pronounce it. That is something to think about, no?

I don’t mind it but you don’t say [name]Paul[/name] o it is Pow lo which is difficult to read and say for an English speaking person

I like [name]Paolo[/name] and Gianpaolo a lot.

[name]Love[/name] it, it’s very handsome! I think of [name]Paolo[/name] Nutini first, not a bad association!

Yup, the [name]Paolo[/name] episodes just aired on TeenNick (Where I can get my reruns for 4 hours straight!) so that’s what I remember. I think handsome Italian soccer player is about the best description you can get, but I can imagine it on an Italian-looking boy.

I think [name]Marco[/name] and then I think of someone very Italian. I think it needs a bit of a cultural background to work.
