New Name Crushes

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!
I’ve been away for almost 3 weeks at a church camp, and have come back with some new (and some old) name crushes. What do you think of these names? All the nn possibilities are in quotations, and some would just be baby names like Temmy/[name_f]Missy[/name_f] for [name_u]Artemis[/name_u].

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] “[name_f]Missy[/name_f], Temmy”
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] “[name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” (do you say Cah-LYE-oh-pee or [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee?)
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f]”
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lydie[/name_f]”
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] “[name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Mim[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f]”
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] “[name_f]Susie[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]”
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]”

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] “[name_u]Danny[/name_u]”
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] “[name_u]Cai[/name_u]”
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] “[name_m]Thad[/name_m]”
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]

Thanks berries!

I say cah- lye- oh- pee
I like most of these. I lived for church camp as a kid/ teen and I would still go up every year if I had the time !!! [name_m]How[/name_m] fun
[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] I like I kind of think of [name_m]Art[/name_m] as a nn though and [name_m]Merlin[/name_m]'s owl and I think of ot more as a lovely middle name option
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] I like my dad loves it actually and suggests it and nn ‘[name_f]Callie[/name_f]’ I think
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] [name_u]Artemis[/name_u] is fantastic !!!
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] I like it but for me I know to many, they’re often called [name_u]Casey[/name_u] or [name_u]Sandy[/name_u], I like [name_m]Cas[/name_m] personally but then I think of mama cas and think wow this would be a great middle name
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] is my cats sister… Lol yes I know my cats family… [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry I’m A normal adult with a family but I found them homes as babies  anyway it falls into the theo [name_m]Leo[/name_m] trend while still being feminine though its going to be followed by cleopatra and miss [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] I’m sure… Not sure if I would give it first name status or not
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] I love [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] I think its timeless and classic and if I didn’t have 3 or more cousins named [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] I would have called dibbs  I think that its perfect in the first or middle spot and Lissy I like as a nn
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] is a nn turned given name that I think is lovely. You might consider [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] nn [name_f]Margo[/name_f] or just [name_f]Margo[/name_f]… [name_f]Margo[/name_f] I feel is a fn and paired with anything but [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] is usually fine
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] , I love this name and actually talked about considering it as a fn at one point. I know someone who’s babies middle name is this… I think its a lovely first but lends itself to a middle
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] I have known 3 or 4, very pretty Biblical name, it took me a little while to see the beauty in it ( mean girl at school and rediculuous character from my favorite book) but I like it to the extent that I think middle
name…
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] is fantastic!!
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] I think is beautiful, biblical and a wonder first or middle that’s quite classic.
I think
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] might really be a lovely name!!!
[name_f]Silvia[/name_f] - lovely name, all positive associations and I think
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Silvia[/name_f] is stunning!!!
&
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] is very fun and lively

Your boy choices
[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] classic
[name_m]Ephram[/name_m] underused
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] lots of modern sounds
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] fun and vintage
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] <3

Simon Daniel
Malachi Ephram
Thaddeus Jude

I think all in all they go well with your other names

[name_f]My[/name_f] faves are [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] and [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] for girls and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachy[/name_m] on the boys side. But I really must say that it’s one of the best-named groups I’ve seen in a long time!

I love [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] (I say [name_f]Ca[/name_f]-LYE-oh-pee), [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] (although I prefer [name_f]Clio[/name_f]), [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] (I actually love [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], and [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f] too), [name_f]Lydia[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (I love [name_f]Sylvana[/name_f] too). I also adore [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]! It’s one of my favourite boys names. [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]'s okay too. They’re all such nice names.

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] “[name_f]Missy[/name_f], Temmy” - I don’t like this on a girl at all.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] “[name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” (do you say Cah-LYE-oh-pee or [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee?) - I say [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee and I think it’s a lovely name, although I don’t like [name_f]Callie[/name_f] or [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], my friend is called [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] but always goes by [name_u]Bobbie[/name_u] (as she doesn’t like her full, beautiful, name)
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]” - Like both name and nickname, but I do love [name_u]Sandy[/name_u] for a girl too.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]- I really like [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], but my OH can only think of the car (which is why I DEFINITELY wouldn’t go for the previous suggestion of [name_f]Clio[/name_f])
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f]” - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] name, if a little boring. [name_f]My[/name_f] favourite nn would be [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] out of your choices. But I love [name_f]Betty[/name_f]!
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lydie[/name_f]” - This is just OK
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]- [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Margot[/name_f] (prefer this spelling or [name_f]Margaux[/name_f] to avoid it being just a nn for [name_f]Margaret[/name_f])
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] “[name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Mim[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f]” - Nice, [name_f]My[/name_f] friend [name_f]Miriam[/name_f] goes by [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] (mimi means cute in [name_m]French[/name_m]!)
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] “[name_f]Susie[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]” - This is OK, NMS
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f], [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] is nice too

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] “[name_u]Danny[/name_u]”- I find this name so dull, sorry.
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] - NMS at all
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] “[name_u]Cai[/name_u]”- NMS
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] “[name_m]Thad[/name_m]” -NMS, sounds really heavy, like “thumping” or something
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f]!

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u]- One of my all time favourite names and my very first name crush: I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it!
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f]- I say [name_u]CAL[/name_u]-lye-oh-pee. I love this name- Greek mythology names are amazing :).
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]”- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] choice.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]: I know a [name_f]Cleo[/name_f] C0rnelia, and I think this is one of the spunkiest names ever.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]- A beautiful classic. I personally prefer the Scottish diminutive [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] or the nickname [name_f]Lilibet[/name_f], but this is always gorgeous.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] prim and proper choice.
[name_f]Margo[/name_f]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. [name_f]Margo[/name_f] is on my own list.
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f]- NMS, but still a lovely name.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] :). I think this is such a classic, regal name. I personally prefer [name_f]Susie[/name_f] on its own, but [name_f]Susannah[/name_f] is lovely. I also love the nn’s [name_f]Sanne[/name_f], [name_f]Sanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Suki[/name_f].
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]- NMS, but still a lovely name. I prefer [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] on her own.

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m]- I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] [name_m]Daniel[/name_m]. Such a great name, a brilliant classic, and [name_u]Danny[/name_u] / [name_m]Dan[/name_m] is such a great nn.
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]- [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! Such a great Biblical name that deserves wider use.
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m]- Not a personal favourite of mine: malaki is a colloquial term for something that is utter rubbish.
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] “[name_m]Thad[/name_m]”
[name_m]Simon[/name_m]- [name_f]Lovely[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourites are: [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Cleo[/name_f], [name_f]Margo[/name_f], [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] and [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m].

Great additions!

Thanks for all the positive feedback berries!
About the whole [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] pronunciation, I used to pronounce it [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee, but people corrected me to [name_f]Calliope[/name_f]. But when I was in Greece the locals all said [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee. So… Yeah. I guess in [name_u]America[/name_u] most people would say Cuh-LYE-oh-pee though.
Anyway, I have one last question. I forgot to add [name_f]Anna[/name_f] to my list. I’m pretty sure most berries like the name [name_f]Anna[/name_f] (but feel free to give your opinions anyway), but what do you prefer [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]?
Oh and Thomas. I’ve been crushing on Thomas but I’m worried its too old sounding and the train reference. Thoughts?

[name_u]Artemis[/name_u] “[name_f]Missy[/name_f], Temmy” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it. I love this for either girl or boy. [name_f]Missy[/name_f] is my favorite nn.
[name_f]Calliope[/name_f] “[name_f]Callie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]” (do you say Cah-LYE-oh-pee or [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee?) - I would say [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee. I love the nn [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f] “[name_f]Cassie[/name_f]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Cleo[/name_f] - Sounds like a pet name to me.
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] “[name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Libby[/name_f], [name_f]Lilibeth[/name_f]” - A little boring. [name_f]Elsie[/name_f] is a cute nn.
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f] “[name_f]Lydie[/name_f]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Margo[/name_f] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_f]Miriam[/name_f] “[name_f]Miri[/name_f], [name_f]Mim[/name_f], [name_f]Mimi[/name_f], [name_f]Mira[/name_f]” - NMS… But [name_f]Mimi[/name_f] is nice.
[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] “[name_f]Susie[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u]” - It’s okay. I like both nn’s.
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] “[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.

[name_m]Daniel[/name_m] “[name_u]Danny[/name_u]” - A little boring.
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] - NMS
[name_m]Malachi[/name_m] “[name_u]Cai[/name_u]” - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.
[name_m]Thaddeus[/name_m] “[name_m]Thad[/name_m]” - NMS
[name_m]Simon[/name_m] - [name_u]Love[/name_u] it.

And I’m American and still say [name_f]Callie[/name_f]-oh-pee. But I’ve never heard it pronounced by anyone else. I like both [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]… but I think I prefer the simple [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. And I like [name_m]Thomas[/name_m].
