Enamored with Deleine (nickname Leine) right now. I realize there might be a couple differing ways to pronounce it though and that’s something I’m still trying to come to a final decision on (which comes the most natural to me).
Deleine (de-lehn) like rhyming it with the river [name_f]Seine[/name_f] in which case the nickname would simply be (lehn).

** Deleine (de-lei-ne) or (de-lie-ne) both of which is the same pronounciation, this is the one google results continuously give me so I suppose it is the most accurate. Making the nickname Leine (lie-ne)
I’d like some unusual middles to pair with it, nothing that would look too out there but not your typical [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] either.

Bumping this and I think I’m choosing the de-lie-ne pronounciation over all others.
Deleine [name_f]Louna[/name_f] & Deleine [name_f]Ambre[/name_f] (both French) are catching my eye right now as being striking together with that name but individually only [name_f]Louna[/name_f] is a name I would like.

Ooh, you like to torture teachers!
I have no idea how to pronounce this, I have several guesses and if I encountered it on a roster, I’d write it in IPA to make sure I was getting it right.

Also being that I’m a speech therapist, I’d be calling you to ask how to say it, since the students I see have speech impairments and I can’t always rely on them to actually correctly pronounce their own names.
Ex: little boy with the mn “Kendrick” swore that it was pronounced “Kendrit” and his speech was really very good!
I’m in the process of trying to figure out how to pronounce it myself lol

Yes this was my first thought, as well as it being the ending in Madeleine, which I pronounce Mad-uh-lehn.

It seems with this name, though I find it visually beautiful and theoretically sounding pleasant, the intuitive pronounciation for me does not in any way match up with pronounciations I can find of it On youtube that I listen to aloud. These are pretty sounding too just not what would come first to me, and perhaps a good deal of other people as well. So Deleine and Leine may sadly stay fantasy names.

Maybe you’d be interested in something like [name_f]Solenne[/name_f] ? Has a more straightforward pronunciation with the lehn ending if you liked that. Otherwise [name_u]Laine[/name_u] and [name_f]Lainey[/name_f] are so sweet too or even [name_u]Delaney[/name_u]. Thanks for sharing this new name discovery with us!

[name_f]Solenne[/name_f] is too pretty! I like her a lot, reminds me of [name_f]Salana[/name_f] that I already do have among my lists. And [name_u]Laine[/name_u] I love as well, both check my boxes!
