New Name Discovery? (Never seen before on the forums!)

[name_f]Sidra[/name_f] [Latin, meaning: like a star]

I just discovered this name today, and I’ve never (ever) seen it before, even in the most inventive name combos and daring signatures! It’s real and it’s latin and it’s gorgeous. I’m thinking it could possibly be the next [name_f]Sybil[/name_f].
What do you all think? Is it usable? Or is there a reason why [name_f]Sidra[/name_f] is not as popular as it could be?

It does have potential. I would have thought it had an [name_f]Indian[/name_f] origin.

After further research, it appears that the listed origin on Nameberry is wrong! [name_f]Sidra[/name_f] is not Latin.

According to wikipedia:
[name_f]Sidra[/name_f] (Urdu: سدر” ‎) is a given name meaning “of the stars” or “like a star”.

If my memory of Seinfeld serves me, [name_f]Sidra[/name_f] is the name of [name_u]Jerry[/name_u]'s girlfriend played by [name_f]Terri[/name_f] Hatcher who is known for saying “they’re real and they’re spectacular” regarding her breasts.

Not sure why the name isn’t more popular, but it definitely feels familiar due to the pop culture reference (to me).

I have it in my signature, but as an Arabic name for Lote Tree. [name_f]Do[/name_f] I still qualify as being daring? I like the connection because both my name and my dad’s are tree related. I’ve also seen the star meaning for it though. I asked about in in the forums wondering if it was usable. I believe feedback was positive. It just seems a little hard to say, might be the reason it’s not popular.
