I was on road trip today, and when we stopped for lunch, I was perfectly delighted to have found a new name via the cashier. [name]Fairy[/name] [name]Hyde[/name]. (I changed the surname a little for privacy.) What. A. Name. I did a double take on the spelling and everything, and that was it. She was an old woman, and reminded me a lot of [name]Cicely[/name] [name]Tyson[/name] from Because of [name]Winn[/name] [name]Dixie[/name]. She was awfully pretty too. The name wore fantastically, I thought. And it’s particularly interesting because she must have been born around the 50’s, when much more traditional names were popular. I’ve always had a soft spot for [name]Pixie[/name], [name]Nixie[/name], [name]Primrose[/name], [name]Posy[/name] and other “fairy esque” names, so I was pleased to have met such a blatantly named woman. Made me smile. Anyone have any thoughts on these sort of names?
If you click on the name link, you see that it was almost top 600 in 1883 and 1905. Interesting!
I think they are a wee bit twee and mildly ridiculous. [name]Just[/name] not my thing. Maybe as a cutesy nickname.
I never thought of it before, but I kinda like it! It would be quite a bold choice though, I wouldn’t use [name]Fairy[/name] with [name]Hyde[/name], I would want to balance it out with a less unusual name just incase!!
