You know that feeling when you think you’ve heard every name and you’ll never find a new one you love and then you do?
Well, for me this just happened with [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m]. I love [name_u]Laurence[/name_u], [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], [name_u]Laurie[/name_u], [name_m]Lauro[/name_m], [name_m]Laramie[/name_m], [name_m]Laredo[/name_m], [name_m]Lars[/name_m], [name_m]Law[/name_m], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_u]Ren[/name_u], [name_u]Loren[/name_u], [name_m]Loring[/name_m], etc. and glanced at the other related names underneath and out popped [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m].
I know a family with this as their last name so it had never occured to me as a first.
But I love it.
My beloved [name_u]Laurence[/name_u]/[name_u]Lawrence[/name_u] root, an exotic feel to it, yet easy to pronounce.
Plus most of the great nicknames mentioned above, especially [name_u]Loren[/name_u], [name_u]Ren[/name_u], and the zesty cool [name_u]Zen[/name_u].
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you others feel about it? Not having a child, just appreciating a new to me name.
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
Thought there’d at least be a nibble, however negative!
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
It’s unusual, but interesting. It sounds very cool and snazzy. Could definitely grow on me.
I like that…cool and jazzy. I can see [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m] with brothers [name_m]Leonidas[/name_m], [name_m]Davenport[/name_m], [name_m]Coltrane[/name_m], and [name_u]Bechet[/name_u]!
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
I actually quite like it. My first thought was its an elaboration of [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]. And I do much prefer [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m] to [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], it’s a refreshing, unexpected take on it. I like the potential for the nn [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], and [name_u]Ren[/name_u], as you mentioned.
I think [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m] could grow on me. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you put the emphasis on the first or second syllable? Yep [name_u]Zen[/name_u] is a great nickname!
With the people I know whose last name it is, they emphasize the second syllable.
[name_u]Leslie[/name_u]
Lorezen just seems cruel to me. Sorry.
I like the nickname possibilities! [name_m]Enzo[/name_m], Enzen, Enz, [name_u]Zen[/name_u], [name_u]Loren[/name_u], [name_u]Ren[/name_u]…
I definitely think it’s usable. I prefer [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_u]Lawrence[/name_u], but I have more conventional taste. But there’s nothing wrong with [name_m]Lorenzen[/name_m]
I think its perfectly usable but I can’t say I like it.
Something about the double “eh” sound …ren-zen is tripping me up. Maybe if I heard it pronounced I’d feel differently…
