New name! Very pretty :)

Or at least we think so ;). The name is…

[name]Dahlia[/name]

My DD is named [name]Violet[/name]…which I think is cute with [name]Dahlia[/name]? I don’t mind the subtle flower theme. Not doing it on purpose I just happen to love the name [name]Dahlia[/name]. Plus I doubt I will ever have a third little girl so I’m not worried about having to continue the theme. But even if we did, she would have something special about her name, so no biggie

We like the combo [name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Autumn[/name]. [name]Autumn[/name] has meaning to us. Hopefully no nn’s, but whatever happens is fine.

Hubby and family love this name too. I think it’s incredibly pretty!!! [name]Hope[/name] it doesn’t get too popular but looks to be ok for now.

Pronounced “[name]Doll[/name]-Yuh” or “[name]Doll[/name] ee uh”

Thanks!!!

I have always like this name. I think it goes fine with sister [name]Violet[/name]! Some people don’t like themes but I say go with whatever name you love. I pronounce it [name]Doll[/name]-ee-uh.

This is my kitty’s name, so I’m a bit biased. I think it’s very pretty and not as overused as some other flower names.

I love this name and I think it goes great with [name]Violet[/name]. I love a lot of flower names so the flower theme does not bother me. I pronounce it “dahl-ya” and I think the nn [name]Dolly[/name] is cute.

I say it [name]Doll[/name]-yuh. I think it’s very pretty and one of my favorite book series has a super strong female lead named [name]Dahlia[/name] so that’s a plus there for me. I think [name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Autumn[/name] sounds fine.

I say it “dal-lee-ah”, I think it’s a beautiful name and great with [name]Violet[/name] as a big sister, and [name]Autumn[/name] as a middle.

I think it’s very pretty, but the different pronunciations bother me a bit, because I’m not sure how to say it. I like the dahl-ya pronunciation the best.

Aw, thanks girls!! [name]Love[/name] this name

[name]Violet[/name] and [name]Dahlia[/name] are gorgeous together. [name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Autumn[/name] is very pretty.

It’s ‘day-lee-a’. That’s how you pronounce the name of the flower anyway.

[name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Autumn[/name] is beautiful. I’ve never heard anyone pronounce it like that though, it’s DAH-lee-a or [name]DAY[/name]-lee-a (like the flower).

I’ve always loved this name and I think it’s even more adorable with [name]Violet[/name]. I prn it like [name]Doll[/name]-E-yuh.

Thanks so much!! [name]Glad[/name] you girls like this name and with my
[name]Sib[/name] set too :). Yeah, I say [name]Doll[/name] yuh or [name]Doll[/name]
Ee uh. So either is fine with me

its actually pronounced DALL-YAH
the flower was named after botanist [name]Anders[/name] Dahl
and it’s totally on my list as well has been for a while its a beautiful name
[name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Autumn[/name] is beautiful
~ [name]Chantel[/name] [name]Marie[/name]

But how do you get the pronunciation DALL from the name Dahl? An [name]AH[/name] makes a soft sound like in Fall where as your pronunciation sounds like the A in cat? I’m just asking because I have a friend whose last name is Dahl and they say it just like [name]Doll[/name], so it isn’t making since to me. Not trying to be rude, just asking.

Dahl is pronounced dah-l (long ah sound).

Thanks berries! Yep, I say it as “[name]Doll[/name]” also. And most people will do the same where I live. On suburgatory, the tv show, they say it as “[name]Dal[/name]” but not here. It’s [name]Doll[/name] Yuh or [name]Doll[/name] ee Yuh :). I guess the actual flower is said differently then how I say the name for a person, which is fine with me.

I think [name]Dahlia[/name] is lovely and it goes very well with your other child’s name.

Agreed. An ‘ah’ sounds more like a sigh. Like [name]Roald[/name] Dahl the author. I’m thinking this is an accent thing because a word like ‘fall’ almost makes an ‘or’ sound in British accents. Sort of like ‘four-l’.

Aw thank you! And yeah, it’s an “ah” sound like [name]Ronald[/name] Dahl. [name]Long[/name] “ah” sound…hard to explain but also sounds like doll. Not like pal. I agree, probably an accent thing as fall makes the “awl” sound for me too ;). I’m from the states

So glad to see positive feedback on this name! + the positive feedback on this name
With big sis. Excellent
