We’re still whittling down our list, but we’ve also added a few new names. Go figure. Please let me know what you think of them and if you have any combos for them, we’d appreciate the help.
Lirienne - We’ve had [name_f]Liriel[/name_f] on our list for a long time, but I recently discovered Lirienne and I’m in love with it.
[name_f]Gustava[/name_f] - I really love the “stava” part, but I’m unsure about the Guh. I love [name_u]Gus[/name_u] for a boy, but the husband doesn’t. However, he’s really taken with [name_f]Gustava[/name_f] at the moment.
[name_f]Faustine[/name_f]/Faustina - this has been on our possible middle name list for a while, but recently, I’m more attracted to it as a first. It still doesn’t beat out my beloved [name_f]Fauna[/name_f], but I’m liking it more each time I say it (both ways).
[name_f]Nidia[/name_f] - We recently eliminated [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] from our list and maybe I’m just unconsciously looking to replace it, but I do like this.
Ephyra - I’m really loving this lately, too. It seems magical to me, and we’d use [name_f]Effie[/name_f] as a nickname.
Eustella - I’m sure this will inevitably turn to [name_f]Stella[/name_f], which I’m not loving because of its popularity, so this may just work its way onto the middle name list. I still really like it.
Estelle is a similar name to Eustella which I happen to think is very classy/elegant in a way, but she doesn’t have to be known as [name_f]Stella[/name_f] that way as it’s a stand alone name.
Lirienne: I love the look and spelling of the name, and the way it’s pronounced is lovely. I’m not sure I like the meaning though. Lirienne [name_f]Fauna[/name_f] is amazing.
[name_f]Gustava[/name_f]: While I like the meaning, I’m not sure I like the name itself.
[name_f]Faustina[/name_f] / [name_f]Faustine[/name_f]: I’m in the US and Dr. Fauci didn’t come to mind for me. I would say this one depends on who you are. Both the meaning and the history of both are spectacular, but I’m really liking the idea of a baby [name_f]Fauna[/name_f].
[name_f]Nidia[/name_f]: I really love the meaning of this one.
Ephyra: I love the meaning of this one (if you can’t tell, I’m attracted to hidden nature names). How would you pronounce it?
Eustella: This is beautiful. I love the meaning and the name itself. I do agree that [name_f]Stella[/name_f] may be a default for some, but you could easily stave it off and correct people if you want to use it. [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] would also be beautiful.
I like your list, so unique! I also did not think of Dr. Fauci at all but I don’t think it’s a bad association if people do. I would love to be named after him!
@Alix2016 Thanks! I don’t really have that immediate reaction. I think of [name_m]Faust[/name_m] more, but I get you. [name_m]Even[/name_m] if others do, I don’t mind. Dr. Fauci isn’t a bad association.
@shells15 Thank you so much for the feedback! I’m not usually one to dwell on meanings too much (I love [name_f]Claudia[/name_f] and its variants) but “reads aloud” was part of what really drew me to Lirienne. Call me weird, but I love it. Then again, I’m an [name_f]English[/name_f] teacher, editor, and writer. I really love [name_f]Aristella[/name_f] too! The problem is that we know so many little [name_f]Stella[/name_f]’s already…
@KaiLun I agree with you. Thanks for the combos! I love [name_f]Liriel[/name_f] [name_f]Faustine[/name_f]. That’s so pretty!
@Greyblue Thank you! I’m so glad you appreciate some of these, as I love your unique naming style. [name_f]Gustava[/name_f] is one that my husband is more keen on than me…I totally get your take. Ephyra is pronounced more like: EH fer uh. Kind of like a shortened version of ephemera. That said, I’m sure it can be pronounced Eh FEER uh, like [name_f]Ophira[/name_f]. Lirienne [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is really sweet. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband would love Lirienne [name_f]Maia[/name_f]. I also really like [name_f]Nidia[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and Lirienne [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. Super sweet. Thank you!
@tfzolghadr Thank you so much! Doesn’t Ephyra feel magical? I’m loving it.
