I love my new girls list but there are a couple of names that I am also really loving at the moment. [name]Cordelia[/name] (but I am very worried about someone nicknaming her [name]Cory[/name] ), [name]Tallulah[/name] (any spelling would work though) and [name]Emmeline[/name]/Emylyn (I would pronounce the first spelling as [name]Emma[/name]-line and the second as [name]Emma[/name]-lyn) WDYT of these names. Are they better than any of the names in my signature line? What would you pair them with?
I wouldnt worry about nicknames, if someone calls her [name]Cory[/name] just politely correct them. I would never call someone by a nn without knowing their preference anyways, especially if I didnt know them. I say [name]Emmeline[/name] the same as you âemma-lineâ I prefer it to [name]Emmalyn[/name], that just looks mispelled/trendy to me. Personally Im not big on [name]Tallulah[/name], its to celeb related to me.
Out of your sig I like [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Virginia[/name], [name]Lillian[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name]. I think any of them would go well with [name]Emmeline[/name] or [name]Cordelia[/name]
[name]Georgia[/name] [name]Cordelia[/name] is a little frilly but I love it
[name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Louisa[/name] - again frilly but I like it
[name]Cordelia[/name] - lovelovelove! I consider this like, every other second. I think itâs just stunning! Its nn potential is what makes it more of a nn type name for me (canât imagine me with a [name]Cori[/name], a [name]Cordy[/name], a [name]Cora[/name], a [name]Delia[/name], or a [name]Lia[/name]âŚ), but I think if you stress [name]Cora[/name] or [name]Delia[/name] (if you like either of those) [name]Cordelia[/name] becomes very usable! Itâs so stunning.
[name]Tallulah[/name] - hehe, I always smile when I see this. Itâs one of the plethora of nicknames Iâve given to my baby sister (who is [name]Natalie[/name], predominently nnâed [name]Tallie[/name]). I think itâs really sweet, but too out-there for me to ever consider, as a FN anyway! I have considered it as a MN several times to honor my sister, though.
[name]Emmeline[/name] - I think [name]Emma[/name]-line is very cute with your list! I prefer the [name]Emma[/name]-leen pronunciation, but haha, I know you just do not see the appeal of that at all. I think the [name]Emma[/name]-lyn sound is really cute, but itâs really hard to find a spelling that looks classy, etc. Emylyn has too many trendy "Y"s for me, but I do like [name]Emilyn[/name], which I think I suggested to you before.
I actually love all three, and I would replace [name]Virginia[/name] and [name]Georgia[/name] with [name]Cordelia[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name]! While I think [name]Tallulah[/name] is lovely, it just seems more of a NN-name to me.
I love [name]Emmeline[/name] a lot. Never been a fan of [name]Tallulah[/name], partially because I live right near the [name]Tallulah[/name] [name]Gorge[/name]/[name]River[/name] and canât get past that
I like [name]Cordelia[/name] a lot. Makes me think of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables: âWould you call me [name]Cordelia[/name]?â âIs that your name?â âNo, itâs not exactly my name, but oh how I would love to be called [name]Cordelia[/name].â And I agree, you can just correct people who try to nn her. [name]Cory[/name] is not the nn I think of with [name]Cordelia[/name], anyway. I think [name]Cordy[/name] (not so great), but I also think [name]Delia[/name], which is improving, and I do like [name]Cora[/name]. Although none of those compare to [name]Cordelia[/name].
[name]Tallulah[/name] is cute, and makes me think of the little duck character from the [name]Maisy[/name] childrenâs books (by [name]Lucy[/name] Cousins). Before that it prob would have made me think âcelebrityâ too, but I am now brainwashed by my 4 yr oldâs books/TV shows.
Really like [name]Emmeline[/name] too. It also makes me think of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables; in the movie there is a sweet character named [name]Emmeline[/name] [name]Harris[/name]. I agree that Emylyn is pretty but looks and sounds more trendy than [name]Emmeline[/name] (and I would pronounce them the way you said you would). I do like the [name]Emmalyn[/name] spelling a little better. On 2nd glance, I might actually be tempted to pronounce Emylyn as â[name]Emmy[/name]-lyn,â FYI (which I donât like for the record).
Of the names in your sig, I really like [name]Amelia[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Louisa[/name], [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Annabelle[/name], [name]Lillian[/name] and [name]Noelle[/name]. The others are just not my favâs. I think any of your new ones would fit very well with your other choices.
[name]Cordelia[/name] is lovely. I wish I loved it more, but I donât. [name]Cory[/name] as a nickname might pop up at some point, but as long as you say âActually, we prefer [name]Cora[/name]â or what have you in a nice tone, I think people will get the hint.
[name]Emmeline[/name] is equally pretty, though I think all the [name]Em[/name]- names are getting a bit tired at this point.
[name]Tallulah[/name] is NMS, but I donât hate it or anything. It just seems awfully trendy.
