New nickname for Christopher

Longtime favorite name of mine is [name]Christopher[/name]. New favorite name of mine is [name]Crosby[/name]. And for some reason I really think that [name]Christopher[/name] nn [name]Crosby[/name] could really work.

Am I out of my mind?

Is there a middle name for [name]Christopher[/name] that would lead more naturally to the nn [name]Crosby[/name]?

[name]Christopher[/name] _______ nn [name]Crosby[/name]

[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Digby[/name] nn [name]Crosby[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bishop[/name] nn [name]Crosby[/name]

It’s a stretch, but it could work. I like [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bishop[/name].

more ideas:
[name]Cristopher[/name] [name]Osbourne[/name]
[name]Cristopher[/name] [name]Oberon[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Orban[/name]
[name]Cristopher[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name]
[name]Cristopher[/name] Bysshe

for the cr-os-by pattern:
[name]Christopher[/name]
[name]Osmond[/name] / [name]Osmund[/name] / [name]Oswald[/name] / [name]Oswin[/name]
[name]Bede[/name] / Bile / [name]Toby[/name] / [name]Coby[/name] / [name]Darby[/name] / [name]Willoughby[/name]

[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Byron[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Osias[/name]
But I’m seconding [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bishop[/name]. It’s pretty much perfect.

[name]Happy[/name] to see positive feedback!

The combo [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bishop[/name] came compeltely out of the blue to me, and both middle names have no real meaning to me (which i would perefer) - but there is something about it that I really like.

Would [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bernard[/name] work instead? [name]How[/name] about just [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Bernard[/name] nn [name]Crosby[/name]?

[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Darby[/name] is a GREAT suggestion. I adore that!

I prefer [name]Bishop[/name] to [name]Bernard[/name] as a middle name, because its sound has more… closure. It’s strong and old fashioned. [name]Bernard[/name] feels a little too aristocratic for me. [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Oscar[/name] [name]Bishop[/name], [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Darby[/name], [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Bishop[/name]- all handsome! [name]Darby[/name] has great bite.

I think [name]Crosby[/name] would be a cute name for [name]Christopher[/name]. Also, [name]Topher[/name] is cute!

[name]Christoper[/name] [name]Elias[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] Nohl
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Wesley[/name]
[name]Christopher[/name] [name]Lance[/name]

It could work. I do think that people using an unconventional nickname should probably avoid getting too invested in it. I had a raft of friends in high school who were called by a nickname at home, but were called by the name on the roll sheet at school by both teachers and friends. At that age, the kids are often looking to differentiate themselves from their families, thus they don’t object.

This is what I was thinking. The bigger the stretch, the less likely they’ll be to go by it when they get to school and beyond - unless they just really love the nn. I don’t think I’d fuss with it unless there were an O and B name that you were in [name]LOVE[/name] with. It would be unfortunate to have to explain to a kid that his name was [name]Christopher[/name] Obsidian [name]Benedict[/name] just as route to a nn, KWIM? Totally fine if there’s a good reason for the names though.

You can’t really control your child’s nickname. You can use it at home and encourage it among family, but his friends will call him whatever they want.

Oh, I would be completely okay with that. I love the full name [name]Christopher[/name], the common [name]Chris[/name], the more uncommon [name]Topher[/name]. I’m not picky! But for family, I think it would be fun to have our “own” nickname. He can choose to go by whatever he wants when he shares his opinion, and I would 100% respect that.

I just find [name]Christopher[/name] nn [name]Crosby[/name] to be fun, and should he choose to go by [name]Chris[/name] when in sixth grade he decides [name]Crosby[/name] is too weird - than all the more power to him! [name]Freedom[/name] of choice!

I’m still feeling partial to [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Darby[/name]!
