This isn’t going to be long (I am so exhausted atm), but basically, I’ve been doing this activity with lots of other young people (about 60) for the past couple of weeks, and I’ve been meaning to share a few of the names I noticed/liked. They’re mostly girls, so I put it in the girls names forum, but there’s a bit at the end on the boys.
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] (which I like way more now I can imagine it on an actual person)
[name_f]Bertha[/name_f]
[name_f]Molly[/name_f]-[name_f]Anne[/name_f] (who goes by [name_f]Molly[/name_f]. She’s the first [name_f]Molly[/name_f] I’ve met, and [name_f]Molly[/name_f] has a [name_m]Sherlock[/name_m] and [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] reference, so I was kind of excited :P)
[name_f]Gloria[/name_f] (again, so great to be able to imagine this on a real person; I didn’t even think of Madagascar until now)
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] (who has lessened the kind of bad association I had with this name)
[name_f]Sonya[/name_f] (for some reason I kept thinking nn [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] would suit her so well too)
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] (okay, she’s the third [name_f]Chloe[/name_f] I know around my age, but she’s too awesome to leave out, and a great Ukelele player)
I was quite surprised that there was only one [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] (full name [name_f]Sophie[/name_f]-[name_u]Leigh[/name_u]), one [name_f]Emma[/name_f], and no [name_f]Emily[/name_f]'s among us, although one of the mentors was called [name_f]Emily[/name_f]. And there was also Simran (who’s so nice), who insists on just being called [name_m]Sim[/name_m], because three letters is apparently easier to remember, and less confusing.
The boys’ names were pretty normal ([name_m]Paul[/name_m], [name_m]George[/name_m], [name_u]Kieran[/name_u], 2 Liams etc.), except [name_m]Hannibal[/name_m], who did not get endless cannibal comments or anything; his name suited him really well, and it wasn’t weird at all. Perfect example of how most of the time the name will suit the person.
WDYT of some of these names?
