I voted for [name]Rose[/name] but [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] sounds better. Almost like [name]Marilyn[/name].

[name]Mabel[/name] [name]Rose[/name] edged out [name]Flora[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] for me. I like [name]Mabel[/name] best personally, but also [name]Flora[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] and [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] are a little more difficult to say with their Rs, [name]Flora[/name] [name]Reeves[/name], [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Reeves[/name]. [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] sounds good if you call her [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Anne[/name] all the time, but if the [name]Anne[/name] is hidden for regular use, then it doesn’t sound as good. Not terrible or impossible. The difference between [name]Mabel[/name] and [name]Meryl[/name] is not that much, but I would have a similar issue if my name were [name]Carol[/name] and not [name]Karen[/name] - [name]Karen[/name] definitely sounds better next to my last name, although [name]Carol[/name] is not impossible.
I’m not sold on [name]Florence[/name] yet. I want to like it more than I do. It’s probably ok, but for my personal associations (of age, mostly). I love that it is like flora, flower-referent, and a beautiful city in [name]Italy[/name] from which many great works of art and architecture came about - I think these things make hope for a general revival of the name, like [name]Beatrice[/name] or [name]Matilda[/name], it is in the same “age” category for me, and those names are being heard more, so why not [name]Florence[/name]. If not for my preference to [name]Mabel[/name], I might choose [name]Florence[/name] [name]May[/name], [name]Florence[/name] [name]Mabel[/name]. There you got me, I can’t decide which I like better.
[name]Kaylan[/name] is just another direction entirely from these names. I don’t know your personal naming style, [name]Kaylan[/name] is modern, mega-namish. It’s pretty, also. It’s just a lot different from the other names you seem to favor right now. I think the other names on your list are more substantial and maybe that’s just my preference and not what’s really going on in the world today. I’d choose a big no on this, especially knowing what other kinds of names you like that seem more traditional and/or old names ready for a revival.
Thanks thats really helpful! I think [name]Mabel[/name] is my favourite out of the lot anyway. Hubby loves [name]Kaylan[/name] (hence inclusion…!) I’ve kinda grown to love that one too but I know it’s up to me - he’ll agree to what ever I choose… He won’t give a straight answer to his favs - says he loves them all! So no pressure on me!

I don’t like [name]Rose[/name] in the middle right next to [name]Reeves[/name], because of the double R when you say the full name. I voted for [name]Flora[/name] [name]Mabel[/name], still my favorite by far with your 1-syllable last name! [name]Florence[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] doesn’t flow as well, I guess because of where the stressed syllable goes?

I think these are all lovely, with the exception of [name]Kaylan[/name] - I agree that it has a very different feel from the others, and I find the old-style appeal of the other names much more attractive.
I knew a girl once named [name]Mariel[/name] - the first syllable is pronounced like in “marble,” not like in “marinate”. I always thought that was a beautiful name, and it has a similar sound to [name]Meryl[/name] and [name]Mabel[/name].
Think we’ve discarded [name]Kaylan[/name]. Was just thinking about the nicknames which will come about with each name:
[name]Flora[/name] - [name]Flo[/name], [name]Florrie[/name] (not a bad thought as a first name - [name]Florrie[/name] [name]Reeves[/name]…?)

I just wanted to add that the -r- in [name]Flora[/name] going with the name [name]Reeves[/name] sounds really nice to me. I love the echoing of the R sounds. I wouldn’t like it if the R were the first sound, but in the middle is different. I know other posters have saids they find [name]Flora[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] too R-heavy, but I respectfully disagree.
However, I also wanted to add, that if you wanted to put [name]Mabel[/name] up front, I think that would also be lovely. In that case, I think [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Florence[/name] would flow better than [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Flora[/name]. So my 2 top choices (tied) are:

I see that you have thrown out [name]Audrey[/name] as a possible mn - I think [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Audrey[/name] [name]Reeves[/name] is also very pretty.
You have very beautiful names to pick from, however I don’t particularly see [name]Kaylan[/name] going with the rest of them. But I know how the husband card works!
I voted for [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Rose[/name] which I think is just gorgeous, but am afraid that it doesn’t flow as nicely with your last name. What about considering [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Florence[/name] Revees? [name]Mable[/name] [name]Rose[/name] Revees, does not at all sound choppy, I just think you could have better flow. With that said, eh, who really cares, it’ll be a rarity all three names are said together and [name]Mable[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Mable[/name] Revees sound oh so lovely.
We have a new daughter named [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Frances[/name], and I must say that we have had soooo many compliments on her name and I think it is just such a fantastic name… but I’m not biased or anything.

I agree with other poster [name]Rose[/name] next to [name]Reeves[/name] is not the best sound. Being that my name is [name]MERYL[/name] [name]ANNE[/name] I suggest against a short filler middle name. I like your idea of [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Audrey[/name]. other ideas [name]Meryl[/name] [name]Violet[/name], [name]Meryl[/name] anastasia. Also love [name]Mabel[/name]! If you like names ending with an L may i suggest: [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Opal[/name], [name]Jewel[/name]. Let me know if you like any of them and I will help you come up with combos. In addition no one has ever called me Mer, I think [name]Meryl[/name] is short enough to not need a nickname. Good luck !
My daughter’s name is [name]Kaylan[/name]. She’s about to turn 4. We get compliments on it everyday, so of course [name]Kaylan[/name] is my favorite choice among your names. I think it sounds very feminine and it means “pure.” I also [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Piper[/name] and am trying to get my husband to like it as much as me for our new baby girl. Good luck!

I thought you’d chosen [name]Mairi[/name] [name]Morven[/name] for your little girl, Limike - I love [name]Mairi[/name] [name]Morven[/name]! Many of these new combinations are very nice, but they don’t have the same lovely Scottish feel as [name]Mairi[/name], which a twin to Tearlaidh (I don’t think I’ve spelt that right, sorry) will need.
I quite like [name]Meryl[/name], but not nearly as much as [name]Mabel[/name]. [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Rose[/name] is so, so pretty, but as [name]Rose[/name] is so popular in the middle at the moment, I didn’t vote for that one. [name]How[/name] about [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Rosanna[/name] or [name]Mabel[/name] [name]Rosetta[/name], perhaps?
I adore [name]Flora[/name], and chose [name]Flora[/name] [name]Mabel[/name] as both names are just such vintage loveliness. [name]Florence[/name] is nice, too, but for me [name]Flora[/name] just had the edge - it feels younger, fresher, funner.
[name]Kaylan[/name] feels very trendy to me, I’m afraid. Isn’t your older daughter called [name]Isla[/name]? [name]Kaylan[/name] sounds terribly masculine to me next to [name]Isla[/name].
