So first off, thank you to everyone who provided suggestions in my previous post. Unfortunately my husband didn’t like a single one. So I’m going with a new strategy. Our daughters names are [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] and we do like names that are easy to pronounce and spell. [name_f]Vera[/name_f] was a hard sell initially for him but he has always liked [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]…so how about some suggestions along the same vein as [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]?
Anything at this point would be better than what we have. (Which is me liking [name_f]Edith[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] and him being very much on the fence)
He didn’t like [name_u]Simone[/name_u]? I think that sounds gorgeous with your daughter’s names! What about [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]? That is a lot like [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] but without the R so that it doesn’t interfere with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]. And the nn [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is sweet! [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f], and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]! I think your daughter’s names sound fresh, sultry, and continental, and that is not how I would describe the name [name_f]Edith[/name_f] at ALL (I still think [name_m]Archie[/name_m] Bunker)…I think [name_f]Zoey[/name_f]/[name_u]Zooey[/name_u] would be great in your set, or anything with a ‘Z’ in it or at the beginning! [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f], [name_f]Maizie[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f] (this has the z sound!), [name_f]Suzette[/name_f] (he didn’t like [name_f]Cosette[/name_f]/[name_f]Cozette[/name_f] either? I love that with the nn Cozy with your girls!) Other names that just sound good with your girls’ names imo are: [name_f]Raquel[/name_f], [name_f]Lucinda[/name_f] (my girls have a friend, aged 10, with this name and it is surprisingly gorgeous and spunky on her!), Mielle (means ‘honey’ in [name_m]French[/name_m], I believe), [name_f]Bryony[/name_f], [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] that helps!
I started this thread before but no one was even looking at and apparently it won’t close from my phone. I’ll need to fix it when I get in front of a computer again.
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f]'s middle name is [name_f]Coraline[/name_f] so [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] won’t work. But obviously we are thinking along the same lines.
The other names you suggested sound great but most people wouldn’t be able to spell them so that typically rules them out for us.
I love maisie but I already know people can’t pronounce it here let alone spell it.
Ok so your husband seems to hate old lady names so here are some that are more modern or that you may be able to slide by…
[name_f]Veronica[/name_f]
[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Bronwen[/name_f]/[name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f]
[name_f]Briar[/name_f]
[name_u]Leighton[/name_u]
[name_f]Claudia[/name_f]
[name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Emery[/name_u]
[name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
[name_u]Arden[/name_u]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
Loreli
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]/bridgette
[name_u]Waverly[/name_u]
Let us know his feedback! I have a terrible time knowing what my hubby likes… it seems so random with men!
He does have rather random taste in names. Yesterday he suggested [name_f]Maxine[/name_f]. Like really?
I already know he doesn’t like [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_u]Waverly[/name_u], [name_f]Briar[/name_f] and [name_u]Leighton[/name_u]. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] we just find hard for people to spell. [name_u]Arden[/name_u] to us is a boys name. (it is all who you meet with it first I think) Not sure about the other ones. At least he does give suggestions. [name_m]Just[/name_m] not always good ones.
I put [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] and [name_f]Vera[/name_f] in the Nymbler Name Generator and these are the ones I liked best with them:
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_f]Joni[/name_f]
[name_f]Roxanne[/name_f], [name_f]Vera[/name_f] & [name_f]Marla[/name_f]
I haven’t read your other thread, but these are names that seem to go with [name_f]Roxanne[/name_f] (and [name_f]Vera[/name_f]) without being too old fashioned sounding. Good luck!
I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Vera[/name_f]! That’s actually what I’d use if I had a 3rd girl today… Anyway, here are my suggestions:
[name_f]Petra[/name_f]
[name_f]Gina[/name_f]
[name_f]Jeannie[/name_f]
[name_u]Pepper[/name_u]
Would he go for [name_m]Lennox[/name_m]?? it has an x…easy to spell, I assume.
Um, [name_m]Lenny[/name_m] is a cool nickname. or [name_u]Lexi[/name_u].
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]??
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]?
[name_f]Alexandria[/name_f]??
So he didn’t like anything on the list. I thought we might agree in [name_u]Simone[/name_u] but then ran into pronounciation issues. I would say it with a moan ending but he knows someone who says it with a mon endjng which is probably the correct way to say it.
If there are any names even left to suggest I would appreciate it.
I feel like [name_u]Waverly[/name_u], [name_f]Ramona[/name_f], [name_u]Monroe[/name_u], [name_u]Kendall[/name_u], [name_u]Adair[/name_u], [name_f]Ryann[/name_f], [name_f]Nella[/name_f], [name_u]Sailor[/name_u], [name_u]Sutton[/name_u], [name_u]Blakeley[/name_u], [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] would work well. Like an edgy name but very pretty.
