I’m new here, my name is [name_f]Anya[/name_f]. I’m expecting my first child in [name_u]November[/name_u]!
The past couple weeks I’ve thought a lot about what I might name my child (we aren’t finding out the gender, we want it to be a surprise). It’s especially difficult for me to choose girl names because I haven’t found much that I really love.
Here’s our very short list (we really only love the top 3):
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Aria[/name_f]
[name_u]Finley[/name_u]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] - my husband dislikes this name but I quite like it
Please let me know what you think of these names and if you have any suggestions. I’ll also be posting in the boy forum.
I love [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. It’s such a beautiful name. I also like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - very classic and elegant.
I’m terrible at making suggestions. If it wasn’t for the amazing Berries on this site I don’t think my son would ever have gotten a name! They will help you out I’m sure
I think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is a very pretty name. It just makes me think of [name_u]Arya[/name_u] [name_m]Stark[/name_m] from Game of Thrones currently.
I think it’s lovely to have your child’s name be similar to yours. I’m actually planning to name my daughter a name that is similar to my husband’s name.
I am not a huge fan of [name_f]Aria[/name_f], it is very popular where I live.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is classic and elegant but, it is popular. I’m not sure if that is an issue for you.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a beautiful name and has a beautiful sound!
Suggestions:
[name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Noelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Alana[/name_f]
I also love your top three! [name_f]Aria[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] are two of my favorites, and I also recently added [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] to my list! Great names! [name_u]Finley[/name_u] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] are also cute! I love the names you’ve chosen, but since you asked for suggestions:
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is pretty but kind of bland to me. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is lady-like and elegant. As popular as it is I don’t know any [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]'s. [name_f]Aria[/name_f] sounds dark and romantic. I imagine a dark haired beauty. I like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] on a girl. I think it fits in with today’s trend of gender bender names. [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] isn’t my style. Here’s a few suggestions:
I love [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] best of your list.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is definitely going to be even more popular this year, given the [name_f]Princess[/name_f] born a month ago.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] is ok, but getting overused atm. [name_f]Alia[/name_f] ([name_m]Ah[/name_m]-lee-ah) could be a less popular alternative.
Apart from [name_f]Aria[/name_f], your names tend towards the classic and chic. Names that seem to fit with that style
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is sooo popular now, it’s like every time a baby girl is born, this is her name. So if popularity bothers you, that that might be something to consider. Also, both [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f] are names that rhyme with Harlot (that’s the first thing other people say to me when we talk about this name- so not just my personal opinion).
I love your name. My Grandmothers name was [name_f]Anja[/name_f] - I adore it. I don’t think [name_f]Aria[/name_f] is too close to your name, but again, it’s quite popular.
I also like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]- I think it’s a lovely choice.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] is all boy to me, but I know it’s fast becoming ‘unisex’, but it just sounds masculine to me.
My pick is [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], I love it, fresh and feminine.
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is nice, you may have an issue with people mistaken it for [name_u]Aubrey[/name_u] however.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is very elegant and girly. It reminds me of lace and pearls.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] is probably my least favorite.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] or [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is my favorite. [name_u]Finley[/name_u] is so cute and fun.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] is just not my style, I don’t hate it, but I don’t like it either.
My favorite from your list is [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]. Its a gorgeous, classic name. My second choice is the lovely [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. The only name that I dont like is [name_u]Finley[/name_u] which I find to be quite odd from your list. It doesnt fit with your other classic names.
I really like [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] but as they say it is popular
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a bit lack lustre but is fine as a middle name
I’m still getting used to [name_f]Aria[/name_f] but it feels light & playful
[name_f]Phoebie[/name_f] is a cute, dear type name, to me.
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] I see as a boy’s name.
I also like [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], [name_f]Miranda[/name_f], [name_f]Amber[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], [name_f]Alise[/name_f], Alira, [name_u]Eden[/name_u], [name_f]Hayley[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] – [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]! This is in my top ten. I think it’s so sweet.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] – I like this a lot, but it is very trendy and in right now. However, it doesn’t really sound overly trendy or dated. I think it’s sweet.
[name_f]Aria[/name_f] – Fast rising up the charts, so will get more and more common, but such a cute name!
[name_u]Finley[/name_u] – I have some really bad associations with this name.
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] – I think it’s really cute, but not as awesome as your top three.
