So my wife and I are having our first baby in [name_f]October[/name_f], and we found out today that we are having a girl! We had previously talked about names for boys and girls, but now we can focus on just one gender! Here are just a few names we were throwing around. I’d love some feedback good or bad, and maybe some suggestions?
Kailin (pronounced K-eye-lynn)
[name_u]Harper[/name_u](The to kill a mockingbird tie has us a bit scared)
[name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] are my choices from your list, but both are pretty popular if you care about that.
[name_m]How[/name_m] about?
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]- Less popular option to [name_f]Emma[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_u]Eloise[/name_u]
[name_u]Sawyer[/name_u]- literary like [name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Harlow[/name_f]
[name_u]Quinn[/name_u] - Short and unisex like [name_u]Sky[/name_u]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u]
[name_m]Emmerson[/name_m]
[name_f]Adeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]- Opposed to kailin
[name_f]Ansley[/name_f]
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps and welcome to nameberry
Congrats! I love [name_f]Emma[/name_f] but agree it is extremely popular. [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is a great alternative, as well as maybe [name_f]Etta[/name_f], [name_f]Esme[/name_f], [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]/[name_f]Emmaline[/name_f], [name_f]Amalia[/name_f]…
I like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] too, tho it’s also overdone somewhat. [name_u]Piper[/name_u], [name_f]Harlow[/name_f], [name_u]Harmony[/name_u], [name_f]Lyra[/name_f], [name_u]Winter[/name_u], [name_u]Arden[/name_u] are some more ideas.
Kailin has a nice sound but may get confused a lot with Kaylinn (sp?). A few thoughts: [name_f]Kailani[/name_f], [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], [name_f]Ayla[/name_f], [name_f]Eila[/name_f].
[name_u]Sky[/name_u] is not my persona favorite but it’s sweet. Some other strong one syllable names: [name_f]Maeve[/name_f], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_f]Faye[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_u]Wren[/name_u], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f].
I also like [name_u]Harper[/name_u] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f] best.
[name_u]Sky[/name_u] seems more like a nickname to me, but [name_u]Skylar[/name_u] is very pretty.
I’m worried people would always mispronounce Kailin. It looks like [name_f]Kaitlin[/name_f] with our the T so I think most people would say it like “[name_u]Kay[/name_u]-[name_u]Lynn[/name_u]” (which I prefer over K-eye-lynn, that one is a bit hard to say)
Congrats! I’m also due in [name_f]October[/name_f]
