New Type of Ads on Nameberry?

Is anyone else having issues with ads on Nameberry covering links? They act almost like scroll-over ads that expand when your cursor runs over it, but I don’t even need to run my cursor over it for it to expand, although it’s always belatedly. It’s not even like there’s a spot for the ads to go, like some ads on Nameberry–it is actually covering links on Nameberry. If I had any visitor messages, I wouldn’t be able to access them because the ads are always covering them. Is anyone else experiencing this? I’m thinking maybe I should email [name_f]Pam[/name_f] or [name_f]Linda[/name_f], but I wasn’t sure if there was anywhere else I should go before then.

Luckily I have not been having many issues since coming back. Accept on my cell phone. I get all kinds of warning messages that I have viruses and that NB is not safe. I will not go to NB on my phone. Through the iPad and computer things have been fine. We put a very good add blocker on the computer. The ipad I get a couple pop-ups every so often.

I left those few months because the adds were actually taking me to unsafe places and I try to be very careful about protecting my computer and iPad. Plus I could never actually get onto NB and stay there because of these adds. I’m starting to feel safe again. If anything starts back up I will need to leave again. I hope that does not happen.

On my laptop, I have no issues. On my phone, though, it’s horrible. I usually try to browse NB on my phone while on my lunch break, but the ads and redirects make it impossible (usually goes something like this: goes to Nameberry.com, tries to select forums tab, ad pops up suddenly which means I clicked that and not the tab, ad redirects me, I close the browser, go back to NB, try it again, make it to the forums main page, try to click on forum, redirect pops up asking if I want to open it in the app store (?), I have to back up a page and try again. It takes several tries to read anything). I hate it.

[name_f]Do[/name_f] you have an ad-blocker or anti-virus program installed? If not, that could help a lot.

This is my life…

Unfortunately, I [name_f]DO[/name_f] have issues with it on my laptop, so I can’t use my laptop for nameberry at all. It’s probably my laptop’s fault, there, though, because it’s an 8 year old laptop and has issues on some other sites, too.

So I use my phone for nameberry and the ads are just so ridiculously annoying and intrusive.

I also used to get messages on my phone that nameberry was unsafe, but they stopped. I ran a virus programme over my phone and it didn’t find anything. I tried to contact nameberry over instagram but they never answered.
The only weird ads I get is that sometimes when I click on a link it will redirect me to a gaming website. But the “normal” ads have been taking up way more space lately.

I also have problems with ads on both my laptop and phone. On my laptop, I can’t click to open my messages because an ad is covering the link and I can’t get rid of the ad. On my cell phone, I keep being brought to pages saying there is a virus on my phone, or that I won some type of prize (which I assume is a way of trying to get a virus onto my phone). It has been very hard to use Nameberry lately.

This is [name_m]Todd[/name_m] from Nameberry. Sorry you are having problems with ads. It is a complex issue, but I assure you we’re not trying to wreck your experience. 99% of our revenue comes from advertising, so it is a necessity for keeping the lights on. But we’re trying to strike a balance between paying the bills and providing users with a great experience. Believe me, I understand the experience would be better with no ads! But I appreciate your keeping ad blockers off if you are willing to do so, as it helps us pay the bills. We have a lot of different ad partners and ad formats, and they are often bought anonymously, so occasionally a misleading or incorrectly formatted ad makes its way onto the site. We knock these out when we see them and blacklist advertisers who break the rules. What you can do to help us: when you have a bad ad experience, send an email to support@nameberry.com with as much detail as you can about the ad in question. That will help us pinpoint and resolve the problem more quickly. Also know that we’re working hard to improve the ad environment and overall experience. We want this to be a site you trust and return to. Thanks! [name_m]Todd[/name_m]
