I like it but maybe I’m thinking this way because I knew a girl with this as a surname so it doesn’t seem far fetched in my mind…

The only name ending in “son” that I like on a girl is [name]Alison[/name]/[name]Allison[/name]. The “son” ending is all boy for me. I guess I’m more of a traditionist and have stricter norms for what’s usable for a girl. I’m just not comfortable with girls named [name]Emerson[/name], [name]Harrison[/name] or [name]Grayson[/name].

I agree with PP. “[name]Son[/name]” names imply “son of”, so that’s what I think of. [name]Harrison[/name] doesn’t sound even a tiny bit feminine to me, especially with the nn [name]Harry[/name].

The -son ending implies that it is a male name, as others have said. [name]Harri[/name] is derived from [name]Harry[/name], so basically the name means “[name]Son[/name] of [name]Harry[/name]”. Not at all feminine and I have no idea why anyone would name a little girl this!

Not feminine at all! -son means “son of” not daughter of. I dislike all names with -son at the end (barring [name]Allison[/name]) on girls. [name]Addison[/name], [name]Madison[/name], [name]Greyson[/name], [name]Emerson[/name], all these bother me. These are boys names and so is [name]Harrison[/name]. I think if I were named [name]Harrison[/name], I would feel bad being the only girl named [name]Harrison[/name] knowing it’s really a popular boy name. i would feel like maybe my parent’s really wanted a little boy.
