Hello there, fellow writers/names enthusiasts!
I have 8-year-old B/G twins to name for one of my stories, first names are [name]Ethan[/name] and [name]Ella[/name]. Right now I have the combo [name]Ethan[/name] [name]Hudson[/name] and [name]Ella[/name] [name]Florence[/name], but they kind of sound too plain for me and I’d like something different, maybe even a second middle name to reflect the common passion of their parents for medicine/surgery. The parents met in [name]New[/name] [name]York[/name], and another milestone of their relationship happened in [name]Florence[/name], [name]Italy[/name], so I would like their middle names to have that as a common thread. I am open to suggestions for both places and both genders, even though I’d like to honor both cities. They don’t have to be necessarily place names, but not merely random Italian names either. I’m not sure if I’m going to change them, but I would really like to have a wider selection of names to pick out from. So, if you have something more than [name]Brooklyn[/name] or [name]Lorenzo[/name], I’d be happy to hear it!
Thank you in advance, and greetings from [name]Italy[/name]!
[name]Florence[/name] related names:
[name]Andrea[/name] (Pisano)
[name]Arno[/name] (the river)
Boboli (a beautiful garden)
[name]Cassia[/name] (street called [name]Via[/name] [name]Cassia[/name], maybe they lived on that street or something)
[name]Dante[/name] (Alighieri)
[name]Filippo[/name] (Lippi)
[name]Fiore[/name] (Cathedral [name]Santa[/name] [name]Maria[/name] del [name]Fiore[/name])
Firenze (Italian name of the city)
[name]Florentine[/name] (the [name]Florentine[/name] Renaissance)
Fluentia/[name]Florentia[/name] (original name of the city)
[name]Leon[/name] ([name]Battista[/name] Alberti)
[name]Leonardo[/name] (da [name]Vinci[/name])
[name]Leopold[/name] (Grand [name]Duke[/name] of Tuscany)
[name]Lorenzo[/name] (Medici; “[name]Lorenzo[/name] the Magnificent”)
Medici (the Medici family)
I think [name]Brooklyn[/name] and [name]Florence[/name] are both good for the girl, I haven’t been to either place myself and don’t know much about either of them, so I don’t have any really good suggestions. Maybe you could say that the parents met on, say, [name]Wallace[/name] [name]Street[/name] (I don’t know if that’s an actual street, just an example of a name/street combo) so the guy’s middle name could be [name]Wallace[/name], named not for the city, but the exact street.
[name]Just[/name] a thought!
@ottilie: Thank you so much, some of those names were indeed intriguing and good to let me mull over their little personalities.
@stardust17: That could be another great idea. I’m going to consider all options, who knows I’ll get just the idea that feels right. Nothing is set in stone for that story, after all. I’m just throwing ideas around and see what I can make of it. Thanks!
Sorry I couldn’t help more! I don’t know much about either place, so I didn’t have much to add.
